  1. Nevermind I noticed the parts list on the link he gave has a 3.7 diff. No need to read farther. Hey... I read that he'll be using a 3.7 rear diff...is that tranny a 3.9? He didn't state (or I didn't read) that the tranny was 3.7. I thought all dual ranges are 3.9, even the FTAWD HEY I SAID DON'T READ any farther!! :-)
  2. Does that auto have a hydaulic valve motor in it?
  3. Breaking in a clutch...I was told by some mechanics back in my dark pre-sube days...that you need to drive it lightly for 500 miles or so. In a stop and go enviroment. I never knew why...but I did have the new clutch slip a little when I did try to get on it.
  4. I don't know for sure, but I would believe you could.
  5. How long did you break in the clutch...isn't it supposed to be 350miles or something.
  6. Yeah I have an 89 RX with 4at. It's great. I'm impressed with the Auto tranny. I had a 3at in my ea81...that was crap. But this tranny is nice. But I would like the FTAWD 5spd with center diff lock. That's a good car...too bad you don't like them.
  7. Hello all. I went to a junkyard today...they have quite a few subarus. (Ea82s) I might go back saturday if there is enough interest. There are a couple Turbo Wagons and a gl-10 (auto) with rear brakes still. 2 XTs both maroon. One is Turbo one is not. Both are autos. Turbo XT has no intake or seats. Need anything? PM me with what you want and how much you'd pay for it. By Friday night please. Thanks. Justin
  8. What's a NA spider intake worth? The whole thing, wiring harness and TB...everything. What about with no injectors?
  9. That's creepy. Do you happen to pass by them at the same time, every day? I mean same time to the second. What about stopping before you go under them and see if they go out.
  10. I dug into their store. Look what I found 85-94 XT COUPE / 1800 SERIES TURBO STAGE 3 CLUTCH KIT
  11. I believe your shafts should work. I know when I did my 3at to 5spd swap...the axles from the automatic worked on the 5speed. All the hubs are the same
  12. turbone, do you have anymore pics of that RX? It looks JUST like the one i bought 2 weeks ago. Maybe a pic of the liscense plate?
  13. Hey, you wouldn't happen to live in oregon would ya? I've seen that car around...
  14. Samo, I believe you are right. Man these engines take a alot of crap...but the turbo seems to kill the 3rd cylinder. I have two ea82ts with the same exact problem with the 3rd cylinder...it's the closest one to the turbo and isn't it the furthest in the fuel rail?
  15. Can be lifted. Every subaru can be lifted...it's easier than any of the truck lifts.http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/
  16. If you can, do the AT to 5speed swap and engine job at the same time. Just pull the engine and tranny at the same time...it's easier. You can put them back in at the same time.
  17. Race like this : or racer like this: Hah hah..that's my old car (the red one). Dude do what you want with your car...who cares what others think...your plan so far sounds good...who doesn't want nice sound and wheels! No Joke. More power to you.
  18. Anyways...there is a guy on the board WJM...he was into EA82t...he put a lot of effort into making one put out a lot of horsepower...someone help me out here...how much was it? In the 200hps wasn't it? The thing with engines is...the more power you make it put out, the less reliable it gets.
  19. Well if he has a lot of cash...sure keep that car as the Daily driver and buy a not as good looking off road car. We all know what happens to off road cars. Throwing a rod is when the rod that connects(connecting rod) the piston to the crank decides it can't take it anymore and breaks....subaru_styles' rod broke off from the crank and then the piston was shot down into the crank because it was fired off...then the rod got between the crank and engine block and busted it up as you see in the pic. Oh yeah, I remember those couple nights...staying up and trying to get the other engine into your car...
  20. I know this won't help much, but my o2 LED has never blinked for me...off, on or running. Even if it was good or bad.
  21. Where are you getting your parts? I recomend NAPA. I assume you have the 4spd 4wd Tranny? All EA81 manual trannies have the same throwout bearings.
  22. Exhaust...open it up, but you have to mind emission laws. Intake...some people put a cone filter at the end of the MAF sensor. Good Tune Up... Good plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Those will free some horsepower... If you are wanting to use it for offroad...sell it and buy a car that isn't as nice...like a 87+turbo wagon that already has 4wd.
