  1. How much modification would need to be done for the EA82 5spd DR? I just know of the bell housing needing to be ground...is that the only thing that is added when going from EA81 to EA82 tranny? Oh and GD i was in the process of posting that reuqest for a tranny as you posted your post.
  2. Yeah, T belts should be checked out and replaced if it looks like it needs it. But if they go out when you are cruising...don't worry...it won't fook the engine up...just keep ya stranded. They is no interference in the engine. Fuel filters...those should be replaced. They are two..one in the engine compartment and one in the back of the car, right next to the fuel pump...in front of the rear passenger tire. Good luck and welcome to the board. You should check out the subaru market place forum, for parts and what not. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12
  3. Well...anyone know of a place where i can get myself a 4spd DR tranny? ea81
  4. I just got back from some pretty cool speeding down gravel roads. WE've all done it, drift the corners...slide...just goof off. Well, to the point. I have an 3AT(I know,i know.:-\) I was driving in 4wd, max speed was 40. For a total of about 25 minutes. Now when I take off from stop, normal take off, on pavement...my front end shutters and sounds like it is slipping. I noticed this before I commenced in this gravel mayhem. It was a small shutter...I thought maybe I just hit something in the road. But now it does it from stop, then when it goes from 1rst to 2nd and very little to 3rd.Could this be a worn out Half shaft? I checked the tranny fluid it was level. Any and all comments welcomed. Thanks. [HTi] Johnson of The Subacru
  5. The only Brembos for SUbes I found were drilled or slotted.
  6. Welcome to the FORUM! Glad to see ya here.
  7. I'm down with Wal-Mart. My friend might bring his beat up 83 DL...maybe not. Hondasucks? You wanna meet them in Bend for Wal-Mart? Oh so who brings what food/drinks?
  8. I'm heading to Bend on friday to meet up with the Cali's and the Nevadians. I think hondasucks (from albany) is going friday with me.
  9. Check the axle nuts, that was my culprit. Oh yeah, I fixed it.
  10. Get ahold of Partsman, he works at Napa. He would know.
  11. Does anyone know of a place to get push bar plabns fo a 1983 Sube GL EA81? I just would like the basic measurements. Thanks all.
  12. BTW, who wants the parts? They'd be free + shipping, maybe to the most helpful person. PM me
  13. I've heard of people deleting their power steering. How do they do this? Just take the belt off and remove the pump?
  14. I believe you should replace the rear fuel filter. It should be right next to the fuel pump, above a dust/protection plate.
  15. IF is has OHC (Overhead cams) you better replace the Timing belts, then keep replacing them every 60,000miles. Keep it oiled and watered religiously. The fuel pump, I believe is in front of the passenger rear tire, it's covered by a shrowd/guard. I believe that it has two fuel filters, one in the engine compartment and one right next to the fuel pump, those should be replaced too. Usually if your Sube gets a little sluggish, it's more than likely linked to the filters...and mainly the one in the back of the car(people sometimes don't know their car has two filters) That's all I can think of for preventive/keep your car nice maintenance. I'm sure others will correct any of my mistakes or add on to this post. Oh yeah, welcome to the USMB.
  16. Anyone know where I can get a rattle can or about 8oz of the Moss Green? COlor Code 255. I have abuot a 8in" Square boo-boo left by the prior owner, who decided to hit a deer.
  17. So you're doing this for rally? Or auto cross? I'm interested because I hope to get ahold of an ea82 body style car and rally it. Good idea, btw. Oh any ideas on lifting a car on no money?
  18. Did you check the oil? If it's milky white, it's most likely means the gasket is gone. The radiator fluid might have oil in it? Or if you have access to a compression tester, you could test it.
