  1. Oh and, I think i used two hammers, one on the axle then another one hitting it to transfer the force.
  2. HIt the damn axle straight on with a hammer, just a normal hammer. THen it will pop off, after a couple hits.
  3. Maybe a switch for o2 sensor on or off? To test/perma fix?
  4. HEy just in case...seafoam is a type/brand of cleaner. So don't go to the ocean and get some, then pour it in your engine
  5. A way to see if your coil wire is sparking is to pull it out of the disty cap and stick it close to a ground and have someone turn the car over, if a spark jumps from the end of wire to the ground source, your coil is fine. WARNING: you yourself can become a ground... for some reason the electricity likes me. How many volts through a coil 40,000? But weak amps (THANK GOD). I have been zapped 3times by plug wires and 2 times from coil wires.. and I am still around to eat sleep and live Subes
  6. Markings on the engine? If it wasn't swapped? I think on the heads it says
  7. Fuel filters can cause a lot of problems. When was the last time you changed them? If your car has 2, I know EA81s do and they cause hell every now and then. As for the CAT you can do what some people do, take the guts out. I've heard some people cut open their CATS and rip the honey comb shiz out, I think it might be asbestos so watch out.
  8. I take it that Subes have a little bit of tolerance between the valves and pistons....since breaking belts doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I've heard on other cars if the belt goes while driving....you just ordered yourself a new engine.
  9. Cold it be the coil itself? He said he wasn't getting a spark on the coil wire, I'm assuming that's what he meant about the wire going to the distributor.
  10. Valve Clearance (Engine COld): Intake - 0.010 inch (0.25 MM) Exhaust - 0.014 Inch (0.35 MM) That's straight from my book.
  11. The Goat...within a week of reading this message board I learned that NGK or Bosch Platinum plugs are the choice...and you want a little more power/efficiency? Get an Accell SuperStock Ignition Coil it's number is 8140. And plug wires...I have no clue. Good Luck and welcome to the USMB!
  12. What kind of filters do you use, i've looked for some holley triangles...no luck.. I'll take a picture of the cars and check the tire prints. This 4rth of july weekend, i took my sube back out on the sand... she did awesome. No problems. But I only aired down to 20 PSI and the tranny temp light came on after about 45 mins. I actually had to put it in 2nd gear...that's the fastest the car has been on the sand...of course the hard stuff.
  13. I cut the CAT and took all the guts out and welded it back together. now I ordered the Flowmaster for it

  15. Is it me or is GD angrier in his last post? As for the problem, do you have problems accelerating? If you do, maybe the two fuel filters? If no probs on accel....then I wouldn't know what to do. As far as the pressure guage.. In my 83 GL WAGON, ...the fuel guage rarely works, only the "low fuel light" when I am .5gal away from empty. My pressure guage jumps from 25 to 5. and volt-o guage comes on when it feels like. I'm fairly new to these boards and I have found out that Sube guages aren't to be trusted (Execpt speed-o and tach (sometimes))
  16. I don't really know anything about this, but how's the wiring? Like the battery wires? Did ya hook something up wrong or forget to hook something up...that's probably just my mistakes that I tell myself "I'm sure other people have done this"....yeah I'm tired.
  17. I'm guilty of asking a lot of questions and still being lost. Or having my questions answered and then just inspiring more ideas/questions. Man I love this board. Off the subject(maybe not) does the USMB have any official stickers/ gear to show off the awesomeness of this community?
  18. Hello, why is it that all new-comers to the board are always saying "hey i'm a noob, sorry for bothering you". Wasn't this board made for all skill levels noobs and experts alike. For the experts and knowledgable to educate everyone, to work problems out, to be a community of fellow subaru lovers? I was just losing sleep over that Thanks.
  19. My soob did that too. It was a 1983 Sube GL 2wd. Dunno why I said that, don't know what caused it. Maybe it is the power steering?
  20. Go figure, it was the fuel filters, now I think the CAT is clogged, I tried bangin it out, but gave up and slapped her back on DANG IT! THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!
  21. Yeah, didn't work. Pulled the plug where the sensor should be, and it still did the same. I had a tip that it could be the tranny filter, gunna have to flush tranny and check/replace filter and fluid...any other tips?
