HELP!?? SUB 88 DL "No Current To Coil"
Soobie-ruu replied to SAYLER's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'm having the same problem no spark from coil coil bracket has been replaced and so has the coil what els could it be -
The welding term used with sheet metal is called "stacking dimes" so you don't warp the sheet metal, in auto body they teach you to do a small weld like a circular tack weld every ten inches. Then wen you get to the end you start at the beginning so it allows Time to cool

ea82 bound up? help please
Soobie-ruu replied to Soobie-ruu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
wen i turned it over by hand it wasnt a smooth feeling i could feel something was wrong, i pulled a head and a pston would move up and hit a spot and stop moving up and hold in the same spot about half way up the piston, idk what could of failed, i havent really heard of a throwin a rod in a subaru cuz there short and stubby, could the piston broke where the wrist pin attaches? idk i might split the case, or try to get the broken piston out and figure out wat happened. -

ok so what i thought was wrong wasnt, but i was trying to be optimistic. i got it out and turned it over by hand, but i can feel that a piston is dragging so im pretty sure its toasted. idk im thinking of just getting a gasket set and regasketing my other ea82 any suggestions or ideas? -

how much did it cost to keep it efi? -
ok so i was thinking about calling and seeing if a foreign engine importer has any subaru diesels, if one could be found is a different tranny used, and if so how hard would it be to come across?
