Does it change the lope at all? anybody have a sound clip? Well if it isnt than it isnt and if it is it is only way to find out is open it, which i hope to do by the first of the year. I'm sure something are salvageable. anyways, I'd like to make the new engine run 10X better and be 10X more reliable than it was before because it never ran well to begin with, I blame it on the guys at the shop not doing it right(this is the second engine the car has seen and whoever installed it the second time didnt seem to know enough). I'll find an engine in time. what other mods can you do to an ea81? just so I can figure out what I want to do, I've heard of swapping a ea82 intake? thanks SJ SJ

I know what I have to do, I'm not a dumba##. I understand, I get it. we can stop taking about what all I have to do until we get to the point of the build. I am going to rebuild my engine if it is salvageable. I wanted to know if they made bigger cams because i think it would be cool to have a cammed ea81 BRAT. I doubt it gain any HP but at least it will sound good. Hell if I end up getting a ea81 that runs I'll probably rebuild it and put a bigger cam in it too, i have new water pump, oil pump, intake, gaskets, radiator piping, radiator, belt, and other parts that i was going to put on the brat before all that happened, that are ready to go on a new engine for a rebuild. Still didn't answer my question, I'm going to deal with the engine when I get it back. I only asked if I could get a bigger cam and if they made brand new ones? SJ

As most of you know my cam broke in my ea81. I was wondering if there are different size cams for the ea81? and where could I get a new cam for it? also, do they make bigger cams for it so it would lope, like the v8 guys do? I'm not trying to be a v8 guy or anything just think it would be cool to have a bigger cam. thank you for your help SJ

I called and they want $300 for the engine, but they couldn't get it started so I guess I'm back to square 1. SJ -

The body has some rust but over all its in good shape, I almost have everything black on the exterior painted back to oem black. I've been contemplating weather or not to keep the ea81 engine or do the swap and I think i've decided to keep the original and keep it going. i also have a cv axel out and the tranny was constantly leaking oil so I had to add oil every couple of days. I can't explain how excited i am to start working on her again:banana: SJ -

Ok, I'll give them a call, I just need the engine so if they just will sell the whole thing and not part it out maybe me and you could go in it together and you could take the brat and me just take the engine? SJ -

I feel like I'm the only classical subaru owner over here, I can't find any parts in this state and i really need some, especially an engine. maybe I should do the ej22 swap because thats all i can find, anyways if there is anybody close to oklahoma let me know. thanks SJ

I'm thinking about just getting a whole other set of hubs to redrill that way I don't damage the originals and I can paint them and make them look good easier then taking all the original hubs off and doing all that. plus if you need to drive it you can and when your ready to swap its all in a few hours work. SJ

true, thats a great Idea. SJ

I dont exactly get why you said it like this? SJ

I want mine that low:banana: SJ -
thank you for the info, but what would it take to get those specific wheels to fit? SJ
-
To get these wheels on my 1984 BRAT: and If I could get these on the brat, could I run bigger brakes? like WRX brakes? SJ
-
I've been trying to find the best/easy way to do this for about 6 months now. I wish there were some coilovers that you could buy and just swap them out and there you go its lowered, is there such thing? or am I just going to dream:) SJ

What she will hopefully look like when I am done. hood scoop, Enkei 92's I hope I can get some custom hubs made because I really like these wheels and they have a nice off set to them. the car will also have a rebuilt Ej22 in it and I hope to turbo charge it after I upgrade the brakes and stuff, thats later down the road. A little update, many of you know that the cam in my ea81 basically went to shreds, how? well I really dont know but Im guessing the oil pump went out on the highway and I just didn't know about the oil pump. but anyways I'm moving into a new house the first week of november and I hope to bring the brat there and start rebuilding the engine so I can atleast drive her. thank you SJ
