Only $420.00 a set and you still have to get them mounted and balanced. I just soon not find any! That is about the same I paid for a set of Michelins on my daughter's Focus. Just saying!!

I think the socket is no longer made. You would have to search for a used one most likely. If you went that route. My went pretty easy with the socket and a Milwaukee 18v impact. On my 87 Brat there was no metal bent down in the slot. Don't know how different the EA82 rear bearings are but I was surprised with mine being as easy as they were.

The 185/80-13 tires are very hard to find. I have run two full sets of them in years past. The last set, with a third the tread left, blew the left front tire. Local tire dealer looked everywhere and could not find a single one. I saved the best one for a spare and pulled back out my Peugeot 14" steel rims. Went with 185/75-14 Uniroyal's. You can search Ebay but you will probably pay right much for them. If my memory is correct the tire dealer told me no US tire company makes them anymore. Most of the foreign tire companies make them in very small runs which most likely sell out before hardily any can be shipped here. You would do better to search for Peugeot 14" rims and buy a 185/75-14 or 195/70-14 set of tires. Even if you lucked up and found a set of 185/80-13 tires if something happens to one you would be in the same situation I was. They are skinny as all get out too!

I went with Sachs on the front of my Brat recently. Very nice struts but a little pricey. I replaced somewhere around 15 year old Gabriel struts. I can't say the Gabriel struts were bad. Especially considering what they cost. Just make sure they are for what version of 85 GL you have. If it is for an EA82 GL or EA81 GL. I got them from Rockauto also!!

Well it is a 12v system so 12 something. Actually you just want to make sure it has power. Use a 12v test light or multimeter.

Check your fuses first, you probably already have. Have you checked for voltage at the pump? Has the fuel filters both been replaced? The one by the pump and the one under the hood.

Caliper sticking maybe. Try greasing the rails. Have you ever flushed the brake fluid?

If an EJ is available with proper harness and what not, why not EJ it?? Not that the EA will not get her going. I wouldn't spend more on an EA than a good used EJ.

You good folks in other countries just have so many to pick from. Just not fair being able to get an EJ hi/low! Good luck!

I bought EMPI new axles a few years ago. Ever remanufactured axle I have bought lasted around a year or less. One returned at the counter before I even left the store. Had come apart inside the boot. Had another clicking when installed right out of the box. I don't remember the name but there is another company also making new axles for a reasonable price. I think EMPI is sold under a different name but you may still be able to find one or a pair if you google. Make sure your motor mounts and transmission mounts are good will help them last a lot longer.

I will base this review on my wife's 2011 XT. Even with only 224 hp it gets going fast and hard if needed to merge or pass. I chalk that up to the major torque a turbo produces. It rides good and handles very good for an SUV. Has a decent amount of room front and back. I know the new model is supposedly better but this one is still good. At 65k and I have replaced nothing but maintenance items, as expected. This past winter eastern North Carolina got a freakish 20 inches of snow total over four snows. One melted, refroze and dumped another 1/2-1-inch on top of frozen snow making terrible driving conditions due to a lack of road clearing equipment here. My wife claimed it was like a tank and she felt 100% confident in it's ability to get her to the hospital and back for work, 55 mile round trip. Has a pretty decent factory stereo. Dislikes, gas mileage kind of sucks but she does have a pretty big right foot, average about 22.5 mpg with the required premium. With have gotten over 25 mpg on trips which isn't too bad. Took me around 4-hours to replace the sparkplugs. Her driver's side visor doesn't want to stay were you put it anymore, drifts to the straight down position and will have to be replaced. Overall this is our 5th Subaru still owning two, my 87 Brat for 17 years now. She loves her Forester still which is a new record for her, usually after about 6 months she is wishing she got something else. I have a pretty strong feeling that if this gets replaced it will most definitely be another Subaru, but that will be her call since she drives it!

I am a doubter. I have not seen one picture of a functioning unit on a Subaru yet. Mileage log would really seal the deal too! With smart phones and digital cameras everywhere I think at least one would be posted by now. If it really worked so good I think a major auto company would be on it like a stink on a turd with all the mandated fuel economy increase the government has imposed on them. Sounds too good to be true.

Sounds like a really nice build. Love to see the pictures when completed! I would run the Weber open house filter myself. Save the stock and mount if you intend to ever show it.

I prefer Redline MT90 myself. But anyways doesn't hydrogen, if that is what the HHO eludes to be, take a crap load of energy to produce?

I am pretty sure the inside diameter is it is the same as a EA81 is 1 7/8". I had a 2" exhaust fabbed up from the Y-pipe back and it was ever so slightly larger.

That's cheap enough. I knew they didn't cost much. Just puzzled how I ended up with a pair of both filters in the box. Must be getting a little absent minded, lol!

If both are good engines why would you want to tear them apart. Either will make it over another 100k if they had been cared for. I would replace external seals, timing belt kit, thermostat and water pump. Clean the injectors and roll. When my daughter's 93 Legacy gave up the ghost it was due to considerable overheating by the next owner. It had 212k and consumed very little oil.

I was not offering mine. I just linked an Ebay add for the filter like I have. EA82 filter has the same size outlet just located wrong for an EA81.

Come think of it I have filled the fuel filters with it when replacing them.

I couldn't remember the exact price but knew they were not much. I actually have a pair of both filters in the barn. I seemed to be well stocked. Bought a pair and didn't realize I already had a pair in my parts bin. The NAPA filter is for an EA82 not an EA81.

I hope not, they are not that big to begin with. If you need it and can wait until tomorrow I can give you the part number. I have a set of new ones in a bag in my barn. They are a lot of different numbers and The biggest thing is to make sure you get the filter with the inlet and outlet fairly close together. It is identical to the one under the hood except for the third outlet.
