  1. I'll be there ... However, us offroad folks will be taking the roads less traveled...offroad...for some friday pre wheeling action @TSF... I plan to meet up with Scott(bellingham) Team cf...anyone who wants to join us...
  2. I'm all up for a local group... I'm working on getting a new wheeler...Gl or Brat...so I don't have to deal with my heavy long wheelbased lego outback...
  3. Jason , your really tempting me to put my offroad bumper back on for some action... I'm so close..too.... Ahh..good times...
  4. I've been planning something like this for a while...I'm thinking abit more like WCSS8 that I did with GlGraig...so everyone can do it.. TSF would be our starting caravan enroute to WCSS10..Friday would be the day of choice... I have been scouting out a few routes...in TSF up to Astoria... Of course wheelin spots for sat/sun...are optional for the hardcores...
  5. fixed it...after checking the line pressure pinouts. I found the 2-4 brake duty solenoid not working...I then pulled the trans pan and looked it over and the connector was broken when I went to disconnect it. So I swapped another one from my good vavle body and and no codes ... and shifted flawlessly....... In my effort to troubleshoot this problem I see that the code PO778 line pressure solenoid"B" electrical is very generic....I could be a number of issues...
  6. I've had great luck with Bf goodrich traction ta H rated in upto 8"of snow without chains...I am on my second set but upgraded to the sticker v-rated. These tires are great handling in wet, dry and don't squeal when you push the limits on the twisties... . just bring a two sets of cable chains for mtn travel. They are great on gravel too...for those mtn roads.. If you've got the cash get a set of Nokian hakkapaletias with or without studs they are the #1 winter rated tire in the world....
  7. I will do pinout tests on the line pressure solenoid to chk if proper voltages are present at the harness. connector B54 terminal 9 throttle fully closed(engine off)after warm up voltage should read 1.5-4.0 volts with throttle fully open(with engine off)after warm up should be less than 0.5 volts resistance to body (ohms) 9-15~ It's also a possibilty that the internals of the trans could be blocking flow no allowing the solenoid to operate properly.. These specs are on an '03 outback 4eat phaseII w/o sportshift
  8. I just swaped to another trans and have the same issue with the line pressure solenoid(which I also swapped from a good working trans.) Code PO778(line pressure "B" solenoid electrical). Mine has only 1st, 3rd gear, reverse ... I'm suspecting the harness as a possiblility... So did you find out what cured your problem...?
  9. kewl, you're in my backyard.... I know exactly where your at.. I remember 1bignose....kewl guy we wheeled a few years ago ..he rolled his gl off the trail.... Hows the snow level....? did ya make it to the top of Peavine mtn.?
  10. That is a tough one....I saw Yes back in '91 with both original members and new ...it was an incredible show!!!
  11. Here's my TR of the run... Middle mtn(between Parkdale/Odell) was our main trailrun...then we tried to hit up the powerlines FS12(pinemont rd of hwy35) near Surveyors ridge and ran into deep snow drifts ...so then we headed down over to Binnshill, Roirdan rd. for more fun and hit more snow...and some fun stuff there . I discovered a broken 22mm swaybar on my rig:dead: ..flaw in manufacturing...Rallitek is warrantying ...free of charge..(I bought in '05:banana: ). I also saw my steering rack boot had torn as well $22 my cost..no biggie probably a tree branch...) I think we all got a growler of our favourite brew...to go....then of to White river for more cookies.. After all the that we are heading back down from Govy camp to find blizzard conditions with very low visability...it was freaky when you can't see the road...and being hypnotized by the snow like jumping to hyperdrive in Starwars... Here's my pics...
  12. Kewl man...I love night wheelin...I could always light a few tea lights... I have no problem wheelin alone or @ night....as long as I'm prepared for it....I usually stick to known trails as well. As far as GPS I'm not a fan:dead: ...old school...map/rear view mirror compass(some new school)
  13. Right on:headbang: TSF is at my back door...They are very soob friendly trails...I always get funny looks when they see my outback wheelin there...(ya know the big eyes through the goggles/wtf) I think I've done about 90% of the more difficult trails there without any real issues. We have to do a soob trail run down there.... I was taking my son out hiking to the top of Kings mtn Sun....pretty tough for a 4yr old...5miles round trip and around 2500ft elev. gain.
  14. They are just programmed differently one is for a 4cyl the other is for a 6cyl. Also you might note throttle cables,alt,a/c,radiator are different. Note about the Ej25 '03-current have almost zero HG issues. About harnesses I just saw an ebay listing for a lot of '04 outback H6 harness new for like $5.99 plus shipping!!! better jump on that one!!!
  15. Hey Brucey, I picked up an EZ30 for $200 cash..yep that's two BF's.... So my swap is beginning...
  16. I'm doing an EZ30 swap in my '03 OBW...The only difference would be the harness, exhaust other than that it's a drop in...Note : you have to use the H6 front springs as they are rated for the heavier engine(about 30+lbs I believe) They even share (EZ30/EJ25) the same ECU..... I think in your case an '03-'04 EJ25 would be your best bet. I've had no issues at all at 82k...I just want more torque...and save my ej25 for a brat...
  17. I do have to make sure my Fiancee will be cool with it though (we really only see each other on weekends and wednesday nights right now). But I don't see why not. She supports me in all my hobbies. She actually pushed me to start RallyCross, and flying R/C planes. And keeps bugging me to finish up my new album so she can play it in the club. Another one lost to the chopping block...(gettin hitched..lol) J/K... She supports all that stuff...cos she knows you won't get into any trouble....lol! I'm game for Sunday!
  18. I had a great time ...Ya gotta love Chaz' Subamarine..."Dive, Dive, Dive..."...Did we batton down the hatches... Chaz should have some great shots as well... It was good wheelin with ya Chaz ..been awhile ....
  19. nice... I think I know that spot...
  20. great pics Chaz...I'm diggin your new bumper... we have to get together one of these days....
  21. Team CF and I headed up Peavine mtn..just outside of McMinneville. We had some nice views of Hood and Jefferson...it was rather slick in places and some pretty soft wet snow... We came around this bend and a couple managed to slide there Bronco into a nasty ditch... ..Of course we stopped and tried to get them out..some bad luck for their outting...the linkage was broken on their trans:dead: so they had no power....We made a valiant effort to get them unstuck....but slippery conditons made it difficult...Along comes an F250 4x4 diesel with M/t's and we got them out ok...they had friend come up and meet them..so we headed up as far as we could...it was fun just to get out... Happy New years!
  22. Happy New years! Looks like TSF might be our best bet as the East winds are hitting the gorge hard... I got my R/F wheel bearings and seals done the last day of the year...So I'm ready to roll in the new year..
  23. I'm postponing the run due to mechanicals (R.F wheel bearing) and too many folks on the mtn...It was a zoo up there yesterday....way too many folks up there.. New years day...run..now...
  24. It's freakin snowin like mad up there..let's do it...meet @ Sandy Safeway 8:30am Hood river foot hills like the best option....
  25. kewl, have ya heard the "fountains of wayne" "92 subaru" yet....(about a 92 baby blue subaru..(leggy sedan)..
