I have the proper tool! It's a "cooling system vacuum venturi" I got it from Matco tools ...Since I'm a mechanic it was a worthwhile investment . I was done changing coolant in about 3min. It's a very nice tool and you can check leaks as well with it .No air to purge period ! I will find a pic and post.

ok here's a couple of shots I took of the Rallitek baja and my outback with the Mudrat bumper (taken at the rally-X season opener). A mudrat is the bomb! I've pulled a few large trees out ofthe road and small boulders too.....I feel sorry for the old man in his nice volvo who ran into my Mudrat in a parking lot ....I was in the car parked! Volvos just aren't that tough anymore.....LOL!!

Yokohama Avid Touring Tires... Not For Offroad Use

I ground my front calipers 1/4" to fit 15" rims on then mounted a set of Yokohama GeolanderAT+II's(215/75R15) awesome offroad traction!!! You could get WRX or STI 4pots(calipers) but you'll have to finda a 15" wheel to fit over them. Speedline corsa.....Vermont racing. If they're not AT or MT tires your asking for trouble.... -
wire in a toggle switch to overide the Duty C solenoid (4eat) this will lock up the rear! I plan on doing this...It has been done successfully! I do have a rear LSD so that helps ! Usually the only time I get stuck is highcentered in deep snow! I need more lift!

I'm with Mudrat.....very satisfied with customer service!!!

"What was I thinkin' " (country song)......Shut off the lights ...kicked in 4 wheel ....tore through a corn field .....what was I thinkin'.......

May 15th Rallyx #2 in Oregon
scoobyclimbs replied to Qman's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
looks like I won't be there as I haven't located a helmet.......!!!I was too busy this week...... -
I'm probably the only hardcore auto offroad driver here. I'm pretty happy with my choice.....I was a hardcore manual driver for years(exception of my '75 monza 2+2,V-8, turbo 350 w/b&m stage II shift kit, ) The only reason I ever got stuck was ground clearance! I've got pics to prove the auto w/AWD is great for snow, sand, mud....pulling large logs, small boulders out of the way , a Ford explorer out of the hole in deep snow!....unlimited slip at the torque converter too. Plus a lower diff ratio of 4:44 vs 4:10(manual) Mines an '03 outback wagon by the way. I'm pretty good at manual shifting my auto too!(within the rpm /speed range) mileage is actually just abit better than a manual.(gotta love cruise on long drives)

I have a rear LSD already the front will be next....

I plan on getting a Milemarker Pe-6000 and two snatch blocks/straps. A Z-pulley setup you've some serious pulling strength.

I finally got it done........grinding the front calipers 1/4" to fit 15" wheels/a set of Yokohama geaolander AT+II's (215/75R15's siped). I also fabbed/welded a cargo basket (from wire rack shelving) for the ful size spare /shovel. I did abit of testing at the Oregon Trail Rally forest service roads and at Mt.Hood in some snow in May! I'm loving it! I need more lift/winch...
