  1. camp five action! I made it out to that location it was pretty wild! The black neon that almost tagged the tree ! Remember the splasher! HA..HA..! Subie Gal endo/roll.........blue wrx wagon..both are ok saw them at the afterparty. I was rootin for my team Primitive racing! Paul Eklund/Price(yellow '02 wrx) it was a great day !
  2. 215/75R15 Yokohama Geolander AT+ II's (15" konigs w/ 40mm offset), '03 outback wagon 2" lift via king springs, abit of trimming on the Mudrat bumper(lower tube), front splash guards removed, trimmed rear inside fender, Front calipers ground to fit 15" rims.
  3. I'm looking at some Ranger cb's, I'd like to mount one in the empty din mount storage area under my stock radio on my 'outback if possible(otherwise overhead via the sunglass storage).
  4. Get a Mudrat bumper it's air bag compliant too!
  5. Carr subaru actually recommends and has a redline synthetic upgrade services ! I have been using synthetics for everything since '90 .I've see no dissadvatges at all . Less friction means less wear, better longevity, mileage.
  6. Get the cooling system pressure tested for leaks .Then get a chemical test for the headgasket if needed. Headgaskets usually leak internally into the combustion chamber (so when a chemical test is done the color of the chemical turns a different color when exhaust gases are present).
  7. I don't think so ....only 8"(lifted I have almost 10" of clearance) I was breakin trail in foot deep! Too boot it was wet snow too! A year ago I broke trail in a foot and half of powder stock!
  8. I'm working on the lift one thing at a time ......besides a bigger lift will only let me get stuck in deeper snow . It's like hot rodding yea a mouse motor is great but a rat motor.....and so on.......it never ends ! I like pushing the envelope with what I have to work with, it's more challenging.
  9. Saturday I went up to Mt.Hood FS RD.4220 (aka Old Skyline rd) + a few spur rds and a gravel pit off HWY46. Yep, I got stuck a couple of times but dug out in five! The snow was soft, wet about a foot deep . I was pushing the limits of my 2" lift with street tires/chains(I did break one chain at the left rear) I had a blast all day! I can't wait to get some mud tires!
  10. It was pretty cool mud was a flyin......Abit chilly with the wind. Mudrat kicked some butt... I just came to watch and support the subies! Maybe next time I'll be ready with some mudtires.
  11. I'm not gonna run , when I get my mods done then perhaps. I have heard lifted vehichles are ok now. I believe they changed the rules again........not possitive though.......
  12. quit whining ! go somewhere else. As a mechanic myself and 99% of all shops we buy our own tools!!! I've invested $30,000........and years of training....so give the mechanics a break! Yea I'm picky about my tools a craftsman tool just don't cut it vs a Snap-on or Mac, Matco.....The dealer is there to make money and mechanics are an expense to them. We don't make $75-100 an hour. The dealer gets all the profits. But unless you own business you really can't understand the cost of doing business . The dealer only charges what the market will bear. Get a Haynes manual or cd rom, go to school and learn.......buy some tools! quit whining!
  13. I love my '03 outback only problems so far have been a rheostat(heater fan )resistor failure. Also a TCU problem with the 4eat(reprogrammed no problems). I have almost 25,000miles on mine and drive the piss out of it on offroad. It is a tank! I have modded the hell out of mine. I'll keep my outback for ten years or better.
