  1. If you take the four bolts out on the Diff and the two carrier bolts out then you can just pull the shaft out of the tranny. The drain pan will be needed because fluid will come out of the tranny tail shaft. You could also just tie the shaft to the exhaust pipe to keep it out of the way.
  2. Friend has a 92 loyale sedan push button 4x4. If you crawl under the car and manually put it into 4wd it works but not by the push button. If you have it in 4wd and push the button it will go into 2wd. Any ideas?
  3. Use OEM Subaru or Felpro permatorque HGs.
  4. Never used KanoKroil, I never even heard of it. I use PB blaster. I have had some really rusty bolts that looked impossible to get loose but an overnight soak in PB always got the job done. If that don't work heat may just be your solution.
  5. I found these but they are not Cali legal. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-23870/
  6. I will take the adapter. Send me a PM and please allow PM on your profile so we can communicate about payment and shipping

  7. I have a 5'x4' piece of roof metal that I cut out of parts wagon. PM me maybe we can make a trade. I would even meet you at the halfway point to Morgan town from Gassaway. That would be the town of Weston WV.
  8. Replace the filter first. When carbs sit with gas in them the gas evaporates and leaves behind a dry varnish type gunk. It also drys out the seals and gaskets after it evaporates. Try putting some sea foam into the fuel inlet using a piece of gas line and a small funnel pushed into the gas hose. Let it sit overnight that might clean it enough for it to run. Also put some sea foam into the gas tank.
  9. Sounds like the carb is gunked up. You can try to take it apart and clean it but In my years of working on carbs it is usually a short term solution. A carb rebuild, weber kit or a spfi swap is your best bet.
  10. Looks like NAPA has them to. https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Result.aspx?Ntt=piston+ring+set&Ntk=Keyword&Nty=1&N=599001+101986+50068+2068009
  11. A guy down here told me that thete are hardly any old subes around because they are to hard to work on.:-\
  12. I did get the #1 pinion pin plug out with the 14 mm bolt trick put the others are really in there good and tight. I'm soaking them now with PB blaster until I can get the 14 mm hex on a 1/2" drive socket. The #1 piston rings were stuck a little to, The oil ring was really bad but some pb loosened them up enough to remove them from the piston. I'm soaking the piston and removed rings in Transmission fluid to see if that removes the carbon and oil crud from the ring groves. Next question is when I reinstall the pistons how do you keep the connecting rod in place to put the pinion pin back in. Miles shoot me a pm for a price on those rings you have please.
  13. I have a good block with about 100k on it that set for for close to five years. Number 2 on a leak down test leaked into the crank case. I think the rings are just stuck. I haven taken the pistons out yet because I'm waiting on a 14 mm hex to take the plugs out. Do you think if I soak the cylinders in sea foam they will unstick the rings? I'm trying to do this on a poor mans budget so the cheapest way I can get away with and still have an ok engine is my goal. Miles how could I tell the diameter of the rings. I know the piston has to be out. Do you measure with a caliper?
  14. Where can I get a set of OEM piston rings for An EA 82.
  15. I have the front cross member from the car to put the mounts in then bolted to railroad ties. positive or negative from coil to positive on the battery is what I need to know. Should the coil be grounded on the engine? I just want to be sure this engine is not going to over heat before I put it in the car from a bad HG because I know if its just a slight leak it really wont show on a compression test.
  16. I have an EA82 hooked to a tranny on the ground. I would like to test this engine to make sure HGs are good and see if it runs good. I can hook the Radiator up with an electric fan so it wont overheat. I can also do a gravity feed gas line to the carb. What I need to know is how to hook the coil to to the disty and the battery to make it spark.
  17. I know this is an old thread but I need to know if the spark plugs are 14 mm thread?
  18. Sounds like one of your front axle nuts are loose.
  19. Does it have overhead cams. Also look on the top front of the engine, There will be a stamp in the case there that says EA82 if it is.
  20. Yes has been done before. Search this site for pics. IMO when its done it looks horrible, But thats just my Opinion.

  22. I working on swapping out my whole drive-train from an auto to 5 speed D/R. I have the donor car stripped and now starting on the good car. Its a lot of hard work but the 86 wagon I got is in really good shape and worth it. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q204/Easycz52/Picture145.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q204/Easycz52/Picture146.jpg
