  1. Either hit something or something flew up from the road and hit it. Could have been internal to. Drain it and check for more then normal metal shavings.
  2. Forester provides more room in the cargo area then The outback. My forester has a drivers seat that can be adjusted to go up and down, Ideal for shorter people.
  3. Very common problem with Subes. The connector gets hot then turns brittle. Rock auto has new connectors.
  4. Could be an exhaust leak. When was the last tune up, Plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter and air filter? If it is the cat Rock auto has them for $230 plus shipping. EASTERN CATALYTIC # 40237 ECO III Direct Fit
  5. Under and behind the alternator center of the engine. It will have two wires and one bolt into the block.
  6. I had a problem with a 96 OB wagon where it kept blowing fusible links. It turned out to be the connections from the bendex to the starter fused together inside the starter. Something to look at maybe.
  7. Have you ever heard of Harry's Upull in Hazleton and Allentown. The one in Hazleton always has dozens of Subaru's in it. http://www.wegotused.com/
  8. I have done it on an old GEO tracker when I broke one, wasn't worth putting two new ones in but the one I put in was from a junk yard.
  9. Read through this for some insight. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/154653-help-me-not-get-scammed/
  10. I got the Denso for my 03 Fozy off Ebay for $98 bucks, free shipping. DENSO 2349015
  11. Denso IMO. Although Bosch invented the O2 sensor not all vehicles like them. Jeep Grand Cherokees hate them. They just don't run right in 90s jeeps. NTKs are good also. Denso is OEM.
  12. Sell your car and find an AWD model. The money for parts would come to more then the worth of your car unless you can find a whole parts car. Even then the work that needs to be done is a lot. You could also look for an AWD car that needs an engine and put yours in. Where is tauranga?
  13. On the back of the cam sprocket are lobes. They may be different.
  14. Use something like photobucket, upload the pic to it then click and copy direct link, paste it into the url box
  15. I may have one. Can you take a pic of the part you need so I can see if the one I have is the same?
  16. Look on the inside of the car. You may have to take the carpet up to see the strut towers. Look to see how much rust is in there. Take pics if you can.
  17. Rock auto has them. FEL-PRO Part # 9854PT How many miles on the engine? I would be a little worried if it offer heated to a stall.
  18. Make sure the block surface where the knock sensor mounts is clean. Also do not over tighten the knock sensor. As for the o2 sensor they should have told you if it was up or downstream sensor.
  19. I should have said six hours for someone like me that has swapped many of the EA and EJ engines. Use to do EA engines out and back in 2 hours with air tools. For someone who has never done it 10 to 12 hours is a better estimate.
