  1. I wouldnt call my cars eclectic but ived owned some interesting "machines" of sorts. 81 subaru wagon 84 subaru dune buggy 85 jeep cherokee 82 diesel blazer 88 subaru gl10 wagon 79 chevy truck 77 chevy shortbox truck
  2. Well unless the efi ea82s are and different you should be able to hear the fuel pump. If not then you can simply take off the gas line and see if your getting fuel. As for the gas how long has it been parked? typical 87 octane gas is good for about 5 months in most cars as long as it hasnt had any water in it. perhaps add some ether and that might help clean it out.
  3. Just know mitsubishis right No honestly i love just about any car brand you could think of. just some more then others. Welcome to the forum.
  4. LOL sorry if i appear a little harsh. I just do not wanna see subaru turn into what toyota and chevy have become. I am not a big fan of hybrids at all.
  5. I know just the idea of such a thing apalls me. I want the diesel not some hyrbrid POS
  6. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/KodyLei I found him
  7. Do you think its possible that the timing chain got stretched or something like that. When i had the motor it never was in perfect time but it ran good enough. If i remember correctly it would run best when the disty was advanced as far as it would go.
  8. I used to get cruise in my subaru all the time. most people call it a sticking throttle but im positive and like to call it cruise control.
  9. They arent full auto but they are semi auto which is pretty nice. full autos are pretty much illegal unless you have a lot of time and money on your hands to get the special permits. Ive heard of that massacre in Au. Not to get over political but i fear the US is going down the same path. For now we can just enjoy what freedom we have while we still have it.
  10. I replaced the postive cable which was absolutely trashed but i suppose the negative cable could be bad as well. You are right about one thing and that is leaving the wires out in the elements does cause a lot of corrosion to wires. i honestly didnt getta do anything with it today as i went to Worley with the family and went firework shopping then mom went to the casino and got carried away with that LOL. Well ill work on that tommorow and pray it makes some sort of difference and hopefully i can figure out why on earth it aint getting spark. If you have time one of these days would you mind stopping by and seeing if there is any obvious reason i aint seeing of why it aint getting spark? Ive been dying to getta take that thing out to the trails and go wheeling now that weve finally had some decent weather.

    thanks Jeremy

  11. When i bought my 81 gl wagon it came with a set of datsun keys that opened everything.
  12. Well the confusing part is when i checked the old disty cap it was obviously bad. The piece of metal that connects to the rotor had fallen off and was resting in the tray of the disty. It appears the coil has power though it must not or something else was wrong cause when i tested it there was absolutely no spark. For no i cant even get the starter or fuel pump to turn which seeing as how everything seems where it should be and tight is an anomaly all on its own.

  13. Well a bit ago i got a new disty cap for the buggy. got it in there and it still wont get spark. now none of the electrical is working either for some reason. Im gonna try taking a multimeter to it and seeing where its failing at tommorow. I did get the mazda runing good but id much rather be in a subaru LOL.

  14. How much would that raise the compression? with a weber carb, a decent exhaust, and some other mild tuning ill bet they would make a pretty good amount of power. Can it run off of pump gas?
  15. Hey this may be a long shot but if there happens to be a category for full sized trucks i have an idea for a derby vehicle. A friend of mine has a 70 something chevy truck thats a real rust bucket for $125. It has a good 4 speed transmission and he claims the motor works but needs a carby and an oil pump. Im not sure if this is what your looking for but i figured id ask worst you can say is hell no LOL. Im actually considering getting it if the motor is good because those old 292 i6 motors are major torque monsters and we all know a good 4 speed chevy transmission is a valuable commodity in the offroad world.

  16. So it looks like im not the only one who misses or wants a subaru brat these days. I saw this little 2 door chevy s 10 today with 2 bucket seats bolted into the back of the bed to look like the jumper seats in a brat. Even though your all going to say im a brat wannabe if i do this i honestly though that was cool and am contemplating whether it would be worth it to try on my mazda b2200 to make the thing a little less boring. What im mainly wonder is if it would be legal to have passengers on the road in the seats (probly not) but then again that never stopped me . So what is everyones thought on this?
  17. 79 chevy 3/4 ton 350 with th400 trans 85 jeep cherokee with a 2.5 iron duke and 5 speed (lifted welded diffs etc) 88 subaru gl10 turbo wagon (never ran) 81 subaru gl wagon 84 subaru dune buggy 82 diesel blazer 95 toyota tercel 88 mazda b2200 truck 95 chevy blazer 4l60e pos 01 chevy lumina the last two are my dads cars but i still drive em LOL
  18. Ive driven my ea81 buggy in rwd with no ill effects besides poor handling for a couple of days but that was only because my cv axles were bad and i still wanted to drive it anyways
  19. If you wanted to run your wagon rwd yes you technically could but its not going to make it handle better. The subys steering setup was made to be turned with front wheel or 4 wheel drive so only having rear wheel drive with that kind of steering is going to cause some serious understeer. Also keep in mind the rear diff wasnt really designed to take 100% of the power all the time so it would cause some premature wear on that. If youd like to take out the front CVs and go drift to your hearts content and attempt to burn out on the suby you can go for it but as far as a daily driver suby that is rwd i dont think it would work very well.
