  1. Yes that might be possible. i know it makes an awful squealing noise and appears to have smoke coming out of certain vaccum tubes left on it. my friend told me i just need to plug those up but im not so sure about that.
  2. Well i recently got a landscaping job and the deal is i have to work 60 hours to get a 1988 mazda truck. yes not my first choice in vehicles but then again nobody else these days will pay me a truck to do work for them so of course i took it. the people who had it last put on a weber carb but didnt exactly do it right because it seems to bog down and die a lot. I saw it run perfect before he tried putting on the weber so im assuming it probly has a vacum leak somewhere on it. Once its 100% mine and i get it running right im not sure what ill do with it but id certainly consider trading it for a subaru
  3. Yes it appears for some reason wasps have a stange tendacy to love subarus.
  4. you seem different since the last time i saw you....did you get a haircut?
  5. If i lived close to you id gladely help you with what i could. i really enjoy seeing this. ive been watching from near the beggining and love seeing all the progress.
  6. And i suppose your wondering why my truck is a red X. Stupid computer LOL

Heres a pic of the truck i got.

  8. Definetely, if not ill buy it an finish it LOL
  9. Good news everbody. Problem solved. I took off the distributor cap and found out the cap was missing the little metal piece that gave connection to the coil. Im just going to buy a whole new cap and rotor for it and once that is on im certain my problems will be solved
  10. i found that transmission fluid worked wonders in my motorcycle chain that had gone stiff and kept breaking. added a little to a bucket and let the chain soak overnight in there and now no more broken chains in the middle of the woods LOL
  11. This could be wrong but ive been told that automatic transmission fluid is the same as marvel mystery oil. has anyone heard that before?
  12. ok thanks for the help. now im gonna wait tell its done raining and go do some work LOL
  13. they were used to hold up a camper for a while. i didnt make em a friend had em. its a shame he ruined those perty suby rims but im hoping the tires will work good enough for you.

  14. hey so did ya getta take a look at those tires? im hoping they will work good for you. unfortunetly my buggy is having mechanical woes of its own.

  15. well i started up my subaru buggy a couple days ago after it had sat for a couple weeks. for some reason the motor was not turning over and was clicking and after i let it click for a second it started turning and fired too life within a couple seconds (including that in case it may be relevant) i let it warm up and for like a minute and while it was idling it just died out. i tried to start it and it wouldnt start so of course going back to the basics i saw it was getting fuel, then i took off the spark plug and saw it had no spark. so i figure that means the coil is bad or not getting power. i use a headlight bulb and see the coil has power so i figure that the coil is just bad and id go to the junkyard and get one for $5 end of story....WRONG!!! I got get one from a suby wagon as ive been told those things pretty much never fail and think im set and go to install it and when its done try turning it over and it still has no spark. i go back the next day and say i got a bad coil and id like to exchange it he says hes never heard of a coil going bad and goes and tests it and sure enough it sparked and everything so i guess its not the coil. He said it was probly points but as far as i know the ea81 has electronic igniton so it wouldnt be that i dont think. so does this mean im gonna need to bite the bullet and replace the whole distributor or are there any other possible quick fixes anyone can think of. PS i took off the cap and the thing inside (whatever you call it) is spinning when it turns over if that means anything.
  16. Hey Ben went and picked up those tyres.

  17. welcome aboard, that is a very clean looking suby you have.
  18. yeah i know how that goes LOL. well buggy has been running good lately except today the coil went out. luckily it should have it up and fixed tommorow.

  19. looks like you got the same thing i had. well good luck with it. i hope yours works out better then mine did for me.
  20. well mine are 4 lug so i think they should work. no i just gotta go dig em outa the garage LOL. unfortunately the coil just went out in my buggy but thats no big deal. if pegasus has one then i think i will have it up and running tommorow. And my number is 208 625 1312. you can text but i share the phone with my dad a lot so if nobody answers i probly means he has it.

  21. Thats a good idea. i dont think i will ever own one again but thanks for the advice. Honestly when i think about it the whole thing seemed like a shoddy idea. they claimed it had a good tranny and good motor but when i think about it theres no reason why someone would pull apart the tranny on a car that ran good so it obviously had some issues. Anyways my ea82t story worked out well in the end because i only spent $50 and ended up getting $100 for it. now if anyone is ever at pull n save and sees a dark red suby with the left head light and fender bashed in (got carried away drifting in my truck one night) be sure to say hi to it and perhaps pick off some parts if you need any.
  22. Curiosity has struck me again. May i ask what kind of ea82t vehicle you have? I had a 1988 gl10 wagon i bought for $50. it needed notoriously awful 3at installed which i figured would be easy enough and if not i would simply put a 5 speed in it. This car had sat for years and i had absolutey no idea whether it ran or not. I wanted to try to start it or at least make it turn over before i take the time and money to install a transmission into it. Unfortunately it has a neutral safety switch and all kinds of other computer stuff and since im a wrench turner and not a computer person i simply got discouraged and gave up on it. Now i know there probably was some way i could have made it run but i had no idea how so i took the easy way out and sold it to pull and save where it currently sits getting parts picked from othe USMB members and awaiting eventually be turned into the beer can either of you may have to buy for one another.
