  1. hey i just noticed your right in my neck of the woods. im over in athol. dont have much for subaru cars but i do have a buggy made out of a subaru brat/ wagon/ many other things LOL. well just thought id say hi.

    thanks Jeremy

  2. yeah i have lots of land and i should be free on spring break. i didnt build it but ive done everything but that. i got it from a friend down the street who built it but then moved on to bigger things. since ive had it i put in a new tranny, clutch, alternator, completely rewired it ( with help from one of the members here) new fuel pump, and for some reason 4 different alternators its gone through. id be glad to get you some measurements and bigger pics if you like cause i think the platform this buggy has is an excellent setup for offroading. the only thing id rather have in it is a 5 speed tranny so when the 4 speed in it goes bad im gonna get a 5 speed in it.

  3. that might work on an ej but ill bet on an ea81 youd be loosing more fuel then what is getting into it.
  4. hey man did you still ever wanna come up and see the buggy?

  5. ive been to cheney before. nice area. feel free to come by some time. I have a dune buggy made out of a subaru brat/ wagon/ many other ea81 parts that i go offroading in. i also have a jeep cherokee and a diesel blazer for muddin as well.

  6. yeah im not sure how good an idea it is to carb an EJ since their fuel injection system is excellent already but i would love to see about putting a harley carb on my ea81. even though to be honest my weber should work fine.
  7. great work. ive seen your videos many times before. things like that are what make us all proud to drive a subaru.
  8. hey what part of spokane are you in? im over in athol idaho.

  9. thats great to hear. i just hope it can hurry up and get registered. id love to see the thing in action. ill bet it handles awesome.
  10. speaking of that hows your nissan coming along?
  11. never heard of a brownie tranny before. i was gonna say i probly have some brownies in my suby but i dont think they will help with performance a whole lot LOL.
  12. i think i heard of someone on this forum who put a carby off of some kind of harley onto an ej22.
  13. well the past ones will just drain the battery and make it die out. this time when it failed i noticed that it still works but if you take off the battery cables it will die out.
  14. In the past year my subaru has gone through about 4 different alternators. Now i usually buy them used at the junkyard for around $15 but id still think that i would at least have some last a little long but it seems like for every season that thing goes through a different alternator. ill admit i do rev it hard but im still surprised on how quickly they seem to go out. does anyone know if there is a certain type of alternator to get or a certain years of subys that are more or less prone to alternator failure.
  15. well as many other members will tell you on here those old ea82s have a habit of ticking quite a lot. it may be possible to fix but often people just let em tick and they are known to go for thousands of miles that way before anything goes bad. if there is NO oil pressure at all though then that may be some sort of problem with the oil pump you put in it.
  16. Thats cool. is it an old ea82 5 speed or did you get one from Aussie?
  17. Im willing to admit jeeps are serious gas hogs but as far as reliability they are about as good as subys at least from my experience.
  18. Nice suby but i always had a question regarding these. Does anybody ever bother putting a dual range in them or do they seem to do well enough with the single range awd?
  19. Wouldnt it also work to gut out the ignition and use a screw driver? i know i have some rigs like that for me. Then again i live in the middle of nowhere so theft is not an issue.
  20. Glad to hear its working out for you. Ive heard that myth before of Subaru being really hard to work on but from my experience thats just not true. ill admit the computers get confusing but for the most part they are easy.
  21. hey man whats you been up to? ive been doing pretty good. it looks like im likely getting an 83 chevy truck so that will be cool to have. still got my dune buggy though the tranny has been giving me a lot of trouble and doesnt work in 4wd. i think that when the warm weather hits im gonna get a 5 speed in the thing. i know they seem to be very cheap at the junk yards. do you know how hard it is to drop one in? what im mainly wondering is can you use the same clutch and flywheel, and can you use the same cross member, differential, drive line, and CV axels?
