  1. im actually not sure if its 4wd yet. Unfortunately we couldn't get it today so it will likely have to wait until next week. ive heard of various engine changes but im not sure about that. Do you know of any engines that can easily be adapted to go in there? Also was the 1,000cc motor in the justy actually made by subaru or was it just used by them and built by another company? Thanks for the help.

  3. So a friend of mine just got a subaru justy for the great price of nothing. We dont know little if anything about it as we havent even seen it yet but they did say it will work fine with with a little work (been sitting for a while) and possibly a clutch. Now i know as of now theres no way of knowing much about it but what i was mainly looking for is a little info on the car. Are there any specific failure points they have? I know it has that 3 cylinder motor as well but i dont know much about it. Again i will fill in more answers once i know them but for now i am just looking for facts and possible problems that may need addressed. it is going to be picked up tomorrow with any luck.
  4. yes im not sure what kind of carb it has in it yet. does anybody know much about the gm goodwrench motor? from what ive heard its a fairly bone stock crate motor but is still pretty reliable. the motor has about 20,000 miles on it from waht the guy said.
  5. It is a 1983 chevy truck. it has 1/2 ton rockwell axels, 350 goodwrench motor, and a th350 transmission. runs good and everything and no mechanical issues to the best of my knowledge. It has a lot of dents everywhere though little to no rust on it. Also it has a 4 inch lift. could eventually use new tires but they still get around decent. my computer is being weird but i should be able to get up some pics fairly soon.
  6. If it has a 3.1 that is a pretty good motor. Not a huge power house by any means by reliable and pretty decent mileage. We have a chevy lumina and that thing has about 160,000 miles which and so far it hasnt needed any major repairs so id say im pretty happy with the car. Gas aint terrible either we can get around 29 mpg. What i like about it is the highway gearing that allows it to go 70 at under 2000 rpm.
  7. The basic setup for the rotary engine is actually a very good idea but unfortunately they just go through seals like crazy. It would be cool to see but im not sure how much better it would be then just an ej22t.
  8. White smoke can often be water in the oil and can often even come from steam or other things getting in the motor. Does it smell like a bad head gasket?
  9. Here is a pic if the buggy. I can get more if youd like. it has an ea81 with a DR 4 speed.
  10. I have a subaru dune buggy sort of like what you are talking about only the running gear is stock. If youd like pics email me at brumbyracer420@gmail.com
  11. I love the idea but it sure seems like a lot of work. id like to do something like that at some point but at this time i lack the tools and im lazy
  12. Well at least the chevy citation song is nice. Why cant subaru have soemthing like that LOL
  13. yeah thats true. it would be interesting to see that done not for something huge like that but it would be cool to tow small trailers like that.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV_1QTNlQWA I just saw this old commercial where that chevy was towing a boat with the rear wheels detached and i cant help but wonder if thats even reasonably possible.
  15. Well i know im due for a trip to Lewiston sooner or later so i will get it then. if i can ill try and make you a "suby knife" I know another thing the guy made that was awesome was a spear made out of a broken CV axel that was really cool.

  16. Hey i was wondering if you could do me a favor. If you can before you take the blue suby to the junk yard take off a piece of steel from either the bumper or the leaf spring or any area that is hard not heavily rusted steel. I have a friend who has a forge shop and has a whole set up for knife making and i and made a knife today. He showed me a big old sword made out of the leaf spring of his old chevy truck and i thought it would be pretty cool to make a knife of some sort as a way to remember the car.

  17. I live in Athol Idaho so im not very far away.
  18. Well youve come to the right place to find info on your swap. Are you looking for anything particularly performance or just a simple EJ22/5 speed swap? i know this is common thing on this forum and you can probly find step by step directions for the swap somewhere on this forum. good luck on your swap.
  19. ok ill try that and your right i should probly change the fluids pretty soon. the tranny is fairly old and has about 215,000 miles on it so i definently can expect a little noise. i replaced the clutch about 100 miles ago so i doubt the clutch is sticking.
  20. Ive been using my dune buggy with a 4 speed dual range tranny and have noticed that after driving for a while it will start to be noisy and clunky and often grind when shifting into reverse. From what ive heard this tranny doesn't have a syncromesh reverse gear so i know its going to be a little scratchy but is there any way to make it grind less when shifting into reverse.
  21. I have a Jeep Cherokee with welded diffs front and rear. Its an awesome muddin toy but it has the on road steering of a rolling tractor.
