EJ22 and EJ25 injector differences
are the fuel injectors different between the EJ25D and the EJ22? I would think bigger engine means bigger injectors? i couldnt find anything on it after searching for half an hour. Plus, if they are bigger, i was wondering if using them in my EJ22 would give me slightly more power. not worried about mileage.

Write up on replacing transfer clutches?
dangit. we wasted a whole day cause we couldn't figure that out. I tried prying on it a little and when it didn't come right off I freaked out a little. oh. and there is this little spring on a shaft at the bottom that sprung off. how does that go back on?
-
Write up on replacing transfer clutches?

Write up on replacing transfer clutches?
I searched but only found talk on it, and no real link or what not to a write up on how to do it. We got the tail end of the trans off, but dont know what to do from there. I was expecting to find a clutch pack in the end. woops. forgot to add. 1996 Legacy Outback

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
cool. So what do i tell the dealer i'm looking for/ what are the parts called? i called the dealer saying i'm looking for the AWD clutches. He told me his computer doesnt break it down that way, so he didnt quite know what i was talking about. he said his computer show transfer clutches or something like that.

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
no. it doesn't do any jumping. the car shifts perfect and drives great in a straight line. you only notice that slipping on turns

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
192000 miles. its kinda difficult to explain. its pretty much like it said before. more or less, it grabs, then slips, grabs, slips. its like its letting on the 4 wheel drive too much for a split second. On my legacy, i can slightly feel the AWD kicking on hitting a turn hard from a dead stop, but when you do it in the outback, its kinda like its periodically grabbing then letting go really fast. Its not a shutter either. Ugh, if only someone on here could just drive it and tell me whats wrong -.-

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
Fluid was flushed the day before i made this post. We changed the rear CV axles to eliminate that as a possibility to no success. When i do the Figure 8 thing like Nipper said too i dont notice anything wrong at all. Its only when making really tight turns with moderate throttle. Plus, it really is sorta intermittent. Even when your being light to normal throttle, it will do it sometimes, but not everytime.

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
Yeah, its an auto. No trouble codes/flashing light. clutches wore out? Oh, and the people before us ran the car a year with the FWD fuse in.

AWD Slipping? 1997 Outback
On the 1997 Outback my grandpa bought, it feels like the AWD is slipping. We went into our field where we have nice loose dirt and slick wet grass, and when i try to hit the gas and spin the wheels, the front ones spin fine but the rear ones just kinda spin, stop, spin, stop. like watching ABS in slow motion. What could be wrong? the AWD systems in these cars is like, the number one thing i lack knowledge in.

AT Fluid Temp light flashing

Bought a not-so-perfect 1997 Outback
Picked her up for 1000 bucks. good deal? you tell me. No pics till tomorrow cause its too dark but.... Front bumper needs to be replaced. drivers side fog is missing with obvious minor impact damage. front fenders were chewed by a werewolf or something. they are dented and have friggen canine teeth marks. plus, the dashboard has been nommed on as well. CV axles are obviously bad. I think the duty C solenoid is bad, cause taking sharp turns it bucks hard. Plus, they had the fuse in the FWD holder cause they new something was wrong. They told me they just didnt know what. Thermostat needs to be replaced. Climate control needs to be replaced. Had leather seats, and they changed the drivers one out with a cloth seat when it got bad. With all the cosmetic issues, she is definitely gonna need to be painted afterwards. also needs brakes. one of them grinds. Good news! It has the problem child EJ25D engine, but the timing belt, tensioners, water pump, and headgaskets were all replaced at the same time 10k miles ago. Engine idles smooth as glass with no misses. but maybe bad motormount??? the engine trashed around a little while it was cold when you put it under a heavy load. Carpets are clean. the whole interior is generally clean, just need that one matching drivers leather seat. Tires are good and they all match. What can you guys tell me about some of the certain things that are wrong?
