You have to be careful with the tow truck folks. Some of them don't have a clue. I had my land rover on a flat bed once and the driver was trying to tie down the frame. Every time he pulled, my air suspension would trigger on and he almost popped my bags before I saw what he was doing. On any given game day in Knoxville you can watch the vultures dragging cars all directions for a tow bill. We sit on the porch and yell mean things to them, it makes us feel better. More than likely your car will be "fine" but I would still call AAA and tell them you didn't appreciate it and that you need another "incident" or whatever they call it added to your card.

Thanks for all of the replies. The assembly I have already has a used bearing in it so that shouldn't be a problem unless it sucks as well. It was only $25 though so I'm not too worried. Thanks for the link to the instructions, that was exactly what I was after. I'll have to think about doing it myself though... I can get it done for less than 80 so it might be worth it. Anyways thanks again!

Yeah my bad, all of the other forums have my info in the sig. It is a 97 Legacy OB and I am kinda confused as well as to what it is called. It is the hub assembly with the bearing and nothing else that I can tell. Edit: Part of the reason I was wanting a diagram is so I could tell what all I have...

I am going to see if I can replace my right front spindle but I do not have any resources other than a PDF file that says nothing about it. I could prob just figure it out, but when I do that I usually wind up with extra bolts and I don't really want my wheel falling off... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jay

Uhhh... Whoops... Anyhow, I called some guy in south corolina so we will see how this works out. I've had to do this alot with land rovers but it seems like there are more resources. Got one with 90,000 miles for less than fifty shipped with a 30 day warranty so who knows how that will go. The guy had 43 of them. Thanks, now I need to figure out how to put it in. I'll check and see if it's in my PDF but it kinda skims some stuff.

Thanks for the replies. On that link that you gave I only saw RH (I am assuming it means right hand) so I am assuming that would not work on the left side. The shop quoted me 110.00 for the bearing and said it would take about 4 hours so their estimate was 400.00 and something (including realignment). I would like to avoid that if possible I will keep looking around and have contacted a parts guy I have used before so I will keep trying. Does anyone have a resource that shows the spindle, hub and bearing if I decide to tear into it myself?

(97 OB Legacy) My front right wheel bearing is going and I have read on here that I should just replace it with a used spindle/ hub assembly. I am confused as to what I need to get ( http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?userSearch=int&userPID=1000&userLocation=USA&userIMS=&userInterchange=BE%3F%40F&userSide=&userDate=1997&userDate2=1997&dbModel=70.6.1.1&userModel=Subaru%20Legacy&dbPart=538.1&userPart=Hub&sessionID=200000000000000000307029966&userPreference=year&userZip=37862&userLat=35.7829&userLong=-83.6103&userIntSelect=581435&userUID=0&userBroker=&iKey=&userPage=15 ) this is a list of the parts from car part but I don't know which one or if there is a better option. Any help is appreciated! Jay

I was wondering the same thing when I got a remote. I noticed a connector unplugged near the remote ecu so I thought it might be it but I haven't checked. I also don't have the alarm. I am interested to hear some replies... I know with my old rover that you had to have the stealership program it into the car with a testbook...
