  1. Really depends on what you are drilling. For mild and hardened steel I have found Champion Carbide to be heads and shoulders above anything I have available here in town. Luckily we stock them at my work. So I get a screaming deal. Ive got a complete set of XGO BlackGold bits by Champion, have had them for 3-4 years now, abuse the hell out of them, and have yet to break one, or overheat/ruin one. They really are outstanding bits.
  2. Sweet  Its always a great feeling to get a motor back together and running smooth. A confident "fresh start" of sorts I saw the title "uh oh" on the vid and was half expecting a nice motor knock or something
  3. If you can pull them out easy with an old Subaru, then they were not stuck enough to need a tug. If I come across somebody that obviously needs a hand when Im in the Subaru, I break out my thick coat, Vodka flask, and shovel. I put the jacket on, and hand the guy that's stuck.... the shovel. I wont hitch up to anyone if they are actually stuck unless Im driving my Powerstroke 4wd. Give them some company and help out sure, but to hitch up to a stuck vehicle with a little subaru? Your asking for problems. The kind that normally results in more broke/stuck vehicles than you started with.
  4. Mine got new wiper blades. Boring, I know. besides that, Im just driving the poop out of it
  5. Have you checked the muffler tip for a banana? If the timing is correct, coil checks out, and plugs are getting spark, then the problem is carb/fuel related.
  6. 185/70R13 is 23.2" in diameter 185/60R15 is about as close as you are going to get. 23.7" diameter. 5.9" tread width
  7. Looking good. I dig the headliner material  Have you chosen a color for the body?
  8. I always do an oil prime with the spark plugs REMOVED. This removes any strain on the bottom end from compression.
  9. Woah! Care to shed some more info on the fuel tank? Is it a custom jobber? Does it use OE hardware to mount? Car is looking excellent btw!

    Limits of HDPE

Ive had some first hand BAD experience with Delrin HDPE. Subframe bushing for my SHO Taurus. While it may be a great material for some things, I will never use it for anything related to any vehicle suspension again. It compresses over time... requiring a re-torque... again... and again.... resulting in a potentially dangerous situation. I run solid subframe bushings aluminum now. Toque it once, and forget it.
  11. I routinely get 28mpg highway with my weber'd '84 GL 4x4, lifted, and a roof rack. Still gets 28mpg. Just have to tune it correctly, and know how to drive it efficiently.
  12. Overall driveability goes WAY up due to the increase in torque and tunability. Mileage, not so much. Though a properly tuned weber will provide MUCH better mileage than a worn out hitachi, every day of the week. And Ive never found a reason to run anything but 87.
  13. Use an Ohm meter to test continuity when the car is hot. Or pull the switch and throw it in a pot of water, and heat it up on the stove and perform the same test. have you tested the fan itself?
  14. Same size as the OE alt on my '84 GL Only difference as far as the case goes is the harness connection location.
  15. I spy some light tabs... What are your plans for lighting? Ive recently been converted 100% to Autopal off road lights. Build quality and output is right up there with the better KC's, but are WAY cheaper Ebay seller here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/rimiinc/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2654
  16. Depends on your definition of "worth" The DG Series is as straight a bolt on as you will find. The redline kit comes with the adapter, all needed hardware, it is properly jetted, and ready to go. It is money well spent.
  17. El Presidente, quite ************ting in my thread. You obviously havnt read it all. Ive already stated that I will not consider the Interco. One noteworthy point though... The Interco weighs 24% MORE. Yes, thats a LOT. If you cannot comprehend that, I really dont know what to say. Not only is it 24% more, when you factor in just 1 spare, thats 45lbs of extra weight the little car needs to haul around. Eating into precious load capacity. Not to mention the added rotational mass for a motor than makes less than 80hp Awesome! Thanks dude. So it creeps up towards the top of my list. I did some more research on it and Ive found quite a few reviews placing it above its retail enemy the BFG A/T Even a few claiming that they are getting 50k+ miles out of them on pickups. Thats great news.
  18. Yeah, Im looking at the grabber too. Do you happen to know what ply rating they are? I cant seem to find it anywhere.
