96' EJ25 DOCH outback wagon- my girlfriend and i drove up hill from mountain pass. we notice temp. gauge going climb up to overheat and saw smoking under the hood. we pull over and saw the coolant box's by the radiator were broiling even inside the radiator broiling too. Seem coolant not even through into engine. so, i was thought it's water pump broke and new replaced timing belt kits too, do am i right? what you think it's problem solving. thanks.

1993 EA82 Loyal 4wd wagon; i was overhaul ea82 and repair gasket kits. new clutch kits. also i was replaced new timing belts kit. i did perfectly for timing belt for aliment and i did check rock arm and valve is good. I've been does timing belt for many times and mostly make it. problem is... when i was assembly ea82 and try to starter and still running but try to fire up some how like a *BANG* out of the carb. i was thought timing belt went bad aliment but Ive been 5 times and didn't start it. BANG* check out photo if it's right of aliment. IF so, i dont know what is for...it's mow lawn's engine to me...nonsense.

ya, i does replace timing belt and went good for many time. I've been watch milesfox on youtube, ondeamnd5 and USMB too. one day..somehow, I notice my friend's friend car have EA82 ohc, have fireback but wont starting.. i find it out, there have one broke bolt from outer's damper (maybe bad bolt)...so, I try to a little tight on one bolt than two bolt. but passage camshaft sprocket's not even stay straight up when I after 360 deg flywheel from inner belt, inner belt is good and easy installed than outer belt. I have been try for hour & hour...it's not easy than my before. I did very near .5 teeth of sprocket's passage straight up but still fire-back. honestly, i cant remove damper's bolt.... it's on the engine...i dont think if he happy when i didn't workout w their car.. should i call napa for remove bolt or what?

we dont think so... oil pan there mix coolant with oil. also we didn't take out head gasket, yet. we sure head gasket is ruin skin out. EA82 is mess. we have to clean oil pan, bore, head gasket and camshaft....blah blah. waiting for order on this Friday. how much torque on the intake manifold. tell me how to correctly install manifold? I wish EA82 can separate manifold like as ej22/ej25. idiot. -

coolant blow from exhaust...
Suba_GL_87 replied to Suba_GL_87's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok, intake manifold gasket, if there's blow or tear gasket...but why i have a mistake? ill check as soon. -
my buddy had blow coolant from exhaust ea82. i dont understand why coolant blow out. we did repair new head gasket on final 3rd step torque is 51 ft lb from BECK/ARNLEY and manifold gasket from FEL-PRO 16 ft lb. testing for running pretty sound good without coolant. i did check under the exhaust, there's no oil drip. somehow i dont understand we put water in radiator while running and suddenly blow out from exhaust whole smoking smell like a coolant became shut-down like death!? i dont understand why, it's nonsense.
