  1. Hello, I wanted to ask you about your blue brat for sale. I wanted to know how the condition of everythign was. Struts, rust, interrior. Also how well does it run, any knocks? How much are you selling it for?

Thank you for getting back to me.

    -Jace

  2. Totally red your article today if your still interested email

  3. It was fine for me, all depends on what you wanna do/spend. weber helped

  4. Hey I was interested in looking at those tires. Do you have a picture you can post?? I wanted to check those out. Appreciate it.

  5. Okay, so was a 1.8 liter a good spurce of power for offroading? I am considering an EJ22 swap. But don't want to spend the money if the EA will be good.

  6. It has the stock engine ea81 with a weber, it has a 4/3 ozified lift, tires are 28" all terrains. I just recently sold the car to another member though

  7. Hey djbroadus. I have an 86 Gl that looks identical to yours, but mine is all stock. I was wondering what modifications you have made to yours, i was interested in building mine alot like that. What size lift is that? What tires? Did you put a bigger engine thent the EA82? It would be awesome if you could get back to me.

    Thatk you - Jace

  8. should take 2 weeks at the most

  9. Lift consist of 14 blocks for the body locationns 4ich by 2inch square tubing with two holes in it bolt one end on car and the other end on crossmembers etc its about a week worth of work the strut tops have a four inch tube cut at 15 degrees at each end and two plates one with a four inch hole to go over the top of the strut an extension is to made for the steering arm and some modifications for the shift linkage

  10. Hey, do you just do 4 inch lifts? I have an 86GL and i was considering a 3 or 4 but haven't decided yet, becaue i still want this to be my daily driver as well as wheeler.

  11. Hey Michael. I have a 86 Subaru GL the fwd with the optional 4x4.

I am pretty new to off roading and interested in building a lift kit if possible. I was hoping you could give me a heads up on how much work will be involved, and how much costs and such will be. I was thinking of a 3-4ich lift to put some 28-30 tires on it. It is the EA82 i believe. I was hoping to make it a decent wheeler. If you could help me out with any of this i would be thankful.

  12. There are many different people that make lift kits for your car. Search through the vendor forums, or visit sjrlift.com. If you have the tools and know-how, it's pretty straight forward to make your own, and a lot of us have done that.

Depending on what size tire you want is going to change what wheel you use. Most people run drilled Toyota/Chevy (6x5.5) wheels, or convert their cars to 6-lug (like myself). Just because in the 15, and 16" wheel size there are many more available types and sizes of tires, then there are in a 13 or 14". And it is very difficult to find pug wheels.

Also, depending on how big of a tire you are running, you may also want to do a rear disc swap. Just so you can stop those big meats a lot quicker.

  13. Your questions in a thread that doesnt pertain to the subject was deleted. There are numerous threads in Offroad about lifting Subaru's, so please start searching.

  14. So not needing an engine swap is good news. Do you know where i can get a lift kit for it or what else might you recommend? And also what tires are best but not too expensive???

  15. If you plan on having this car as a daily driver, then a 5" lift is a little much. If you do plan on driving it every day, but want to be able to rock the trails on the weekend, then a 2, 3, or 4" lift is best for you. I'd say probably a 3" would be your best bet.

As for the motor; an EA81 isn't that bad of a motor, its prone to the same headgasket issues as the EA82, but is much easier to work on because it is the OHV, pushrod motor. A lot of guys here use them in their big wheelers. But if you want the extra power and reliability, then an EJ22 is the way to go. The swap is very easy also
