  1. Those aren't 16x6 are they? They seem to fill up the fenderwells a good bit but that brat doesn't look to be lowered. Thanks guys
  2. The clock comes out and has a plug at the end that goes into the stock harness. i'm sure someone just unplugged the clock and the harness fell.
  3. i need someone to fix my clock, i tried but messed it up. Had to get another one from pick n pull. It works now but doesn't keep correct time. Is my resistor bad or just the connection? if just the connection i might just do it right this time but wish i could just send it out to someone.
  4. mine has to go WAY below the E mark for the light to come on.
  5. Thanks!!! Yeah she has a few dents that still drive my crazy lol, but i just have to tell myself she is 20+ years old. as for the subaru passport, my uncle bought the car brand new from the dealership in seattle, and i believe it was a dealer program through them for service. Inside the booklet is just my uncles information and address. yeah the ea82 still running very good, it's just not enough power for me lol, a 2.2 L sounds so awesome in this thing. Thanks again for looking!
  6. how much for one of you pacific northwest guys to put an ej22 in my GL?
  7. 1988 GL. 228k miles, 2nd owner. I take real good care of her, hopefully throw an ej22 in when this engine goes. Would like to put some 14inch alloys on it as well. But for now i like her looking as OEM as possible. I'm glad i have her so i can focus on a real weekend warrior/garage queen
  8. sounds like it was pinging on 87. glad to hear its running well on 94. Would hate to have to run that all the time though.
  9. projectors are these they are apart of every OEM HID headlamp. If it has HIDs, it has projectors. those pictures are all factory projectors. all cars have a cutoff. and yes those cutoffs are very crisp and nice, but even those aren't the fancy bioxenon projectors. A pair of bmw projectors brand new are $99. first picture is a s2000 projector. 2nd is a TSX projector, last picture is cheap bmw m3 projector. never said his lights were a problem, said the cutoff was bad and they shine high. again though, misinformation!(what you said about factory HIDs) not trying to be a hater, they are what they are though.
  10. link doesn't work for me. I'd like to see what the stickers look like. Can you make custom ones? Looking for the 4wd OEM look but in red lettering. Thanks
  11. no, i have HIDs in my other car but not my GL. not worth it to retro fit imo. This is a proper cutoff the cutoff on the average car will cutoff right below the eyes of an oncoming driver. HID bulbs in halogen housing will blast light all over the place and cause a horrible glare. notice the car on the left, if he was facing towards you he would probably be flashing you telling you to turn your high beams off. Notice the "cutoff" or lack there of up in the trees. It's way too high. When i said cheap i didn't mean any of your parts were cheap, but rather you got the bulbs, ballasts, but left out the most expensive piece, the projectors. I had an HID kit exactly like yours in my srt4 , it looked great but i eventually got a ticket and decided to do it how it's supposed to be done. I did a bunch of research on HIDplanet forums and i used the e46 bmw m3 projectors which are only 99 dollars brand new. This was the last headlight HID setup i put together I dont want to be a jerk, i really like your car, the guy with the yellow GL. i just dont want any misinformation being spread. That's all
  12. no offense but jesus that cutoff is horrible. Would never put one of those cheap HID kits into the halogen housing of my suby.
  13. 2k is a little high. for 2k you could have my one owner all original 88 GL lol.
  14. i think my ea82 blew a head gasket. I used to have to add water to the radiator once every few months. Now it's gotten really bad to where i have to add water before i drive to work or so. It also developed a horrible knocking yesterday, idk why. I checked the oil and it was low, i topped it off. Still making that noise. It has 220k miles on the stock clutch. I' live in federal way but go to school in seattle. I've always told myself that i can get atleast 300k out of this bad boy but it looks like i'm stranded. Where can i find an ea82 longblock for sale for a couple hundred bucks? I figure if i can find one for 300 i can do the work myself. I've called a few junk yards and some want $1000 for one. i could go out and get another GL for a little bit more. What do you think i should do? thinking with the least amount of money, even if i can just get a year or two more out of it and i can finish school. Rebuild the ea82? new headgaskets, and seals? I think it might have a rod knock so idk if i'd want to just do the head gasket and seals. This car was mr. reliable for so long, it makes me sad to see it finally breaking down. Reminds me of life.. :/ Located in Seattle/Tacoma as well. Thanks
  15. i've noticed a lot of GL and loyale owners are located here in WA including some GL's that have been EJ swapped. Was wondering if anyone on here wants to swap my ea82 and if so how much you would want. The wiring is the main thing i'm concerned about. Even if i could swap the EJ in i would want someone with experience in removing my dash and wiring in the new harness. Thanks guys
  16. will post pictures tomorrow. I got the front 2 in and they look great. The rear seats look like they will fit as well so i am going to finish working on those tomorrow.
  17. i've tried searching my best but i was wondering if anyone had some information that could help me out. I am getting some 2008 wrx seats to put into my ea82 subaru Gl wagon. It would be nice if the rears went in but my main concern is the front. so to my understanding i can take the rails off the ea82 seats and when put on the 08 wrx seats only the front holes will line up. I then will have to drill holes for the back 2. Is this correct? and will these seats sit up a lot higher than my old ones? can i get the rear seats to swap in as well? so main concern again are front seats and how much higher they will be than my stock seats. Thanks guys
  18. I'm looking to swap an ej22 into my 88 GL ea82. I was wondering if removing the dash was required. I understand that the ej22 requires a lot more wiring and sensors, perhaps i could run the new wires straight to the ecu? If anyone has any experience i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys
