  1. I was going through my pics, and check out this kool picture effect of when dust gets on the camera lens. I could prolly make up a pic that looks like this, but the fact that it's naturally like this is kewl. Check it out.
  2. If it seemed like I was attacking someone, I'm sorry. I've gotten hit quite a few times over the things that I've done, and people demanding "proof". It does get a bit tireing sometime. I can understand on the not likeing the bobbing, it has kind of a love/hate thing with me, I like the departure angle, but I hate not haveing my bed to store things, or carry things (like my dirt bike) and I sure can't sleep in it any more. Although when I did mine, I did retain the one thing in the rear that makes it more "Bratlike", the tailgate, fully functional too. Pic of tail.
  3. Didn't actually break anything. It's jes that the stupid strut slipped out of the steering knuckle. The first time the bolt was missing, the second time I guess I jes didin't get the bolt tight enough. We ended up putting a limiting strap in there the second time and didn't have any more problems after that.
  4. Ohkay, you guys have to start this thread on the day that I go out on the trail, shoulda waited untill today. I have the ONLY 6 cylinder, 6" lifted, bobbed, quad range that RUNS and has been OFF ROAD!!! I took it out this weekend, and have Junkie and Soobme to testify to it's abilities. Jes to let you know what this thing can do, I never took the motor over 3K on the trail. Most of the time I was between 1K and 2K and burping the throttle. Plus all of my mods, the lift, the T-case, the 5spd, the ER27, the bobtail, the modular front end, the rear bumper, the welded diff, everything that I made MYSELF was perfect, no cracked welds no broken parts, nothing. The only probs I had involved the stock Subaru front struts falling out of the knuckles. There are pictures that I took here Off Road Pics and when Brian gets home he is going to edit up the like 3 hours of video that we took for everyone to see. And I'm not done with it yet. This winter I'm going to get rid of the stupid front struts, and other stuff. As for "monster Brats" Take a look at the THE monster Brat.
  5. I jes got back from out wheeling trip, Me, Junkie, and Soobme spent the weekend out in the woods getting some good 4 bying on. You can check out the Album here Wheeling Pics! Here are some teasers Plus we have like 3 hours of video that Junkie is going to edit when he gets back to Cali! Oh yeah, it was a blast, more of your should have come, oh well, next time. And we'll do it during the wet season, where things are more interesting!
  6. OMG! I got a job interview today, at 1. So I'm kinda running behind on things, I should still be in RR about 3ish, depending on how long things go at the interview. Ohkay dokey. Here we go.
  7. Ohkay, the best place to meet everyone would prolly be Umpqua Bank. When you pull off the free at the RR exit, you will come to a stop sign at the bottom of the off ramp, from there hang a right, go over the tracks, and immediatly take a left after you go over the tracks. Follow that road around a bend, there will be a gas station on either side of you, and you'll come to a stop sign. Sitting at the stop sign you will be looking at the bank off to the right a little, go straight from the stop sign and turn right into the bank parking lot, we'll be down at the far end of the parking lot, won't be able to miss the Brat. As for you Brian, might be better to jes come up to the house, I'm not going to head down to the bank till bout 5:30ish. Hey Tony, any word on when you can head over to this side of the Valley? Only a few more hours people! Lets get it on!!
  8. Yeah, plus we'll have some fresh video from this weekend to take with us. I need to find my patch cable!!! I haven't seen it in like 6 months!
  9. I usually only get about 230 to a tank with my EA81T. This will vary a little depending on where I'm driving, and how. I've managed to get about 250 from a tank, but that was babying it on the freeway. I do a lot of in town driving in mine, and I usually fill the tank right at 200 miles. 13.6? I think my owners manual says that my tank is 11.5, could be wrong in this, can someone confirm how much an EA81 Tubro tnak hodls. If it's 11.5 like I'm thinking, then that between 17 and 21 mpg that I'm getting, which isn't that bad.
  10. They're actually the old ones off my 3-door. It was episode 88, turn a Subaru Brat into an urban assalt vehicle. I've actually sent in all the info on the Brat so that next time they do a viewers builds segment, I might be on it, provided it's kewl enough to them and gets picked, we'll see. As for the doors, they are going to get cut down and made into jeep like doors, for the most part, I'll have two sets, full doors, and half doors. The reason for the full ones, it gets mighty cold here in Oregon in the winter, and really really wet. Only two more days till I hit the trail!!
  11. I've got blocks in the front, only prob is that they are 4" blocks and I have a 6" lift. I'm working a way around putting a block on top of the strut, the good thing about haveing the short block in there is I have 0 camber. Yup, went with coils in the back (good eye, the pic isn't that great in the fender wells), I was tired of messing around with trying to build a spacer for the shocks and don't have the cash to buy new (longer) ones. Hey Bill, your in K-falls?? Whotchya doin this weekend? Oh yeah, anyone here remember Kilroy? Wanna know where he is now? He's hiding under my truck!!
  12. Got some new pictures up in my album, got some more stuff done on the Brat this weekend, it's pretty much ready for the trail now, jes got some little things to wire, and finish up!! Woohoo, only like 3 more days till I hit the trails. What do ya'll think of this picture? Anything funny with it? Check out the album, HERE!!
  13. I'm down to only two real things to get done, tranny mounts, and rear shocks, thats it, I can't believe it, wow, can't wait till I am finished. Took it out for a little test spin after the new exhaust, and all I had to do was burp the throttle a little bit to get the rear wheel hopping, and thats while moving. Phenominal Cosmic Power, Iddy bitty little truck!!! Muh wah hahahahaha
  14. Good news!! Ah yeah!! The keys are found. I'm back in buisness now baby!! I've got more things done, and nothing more has popped up, so it looks like I should be making test runs on either wednesday or thursday!!! Whew, I'm coming down to the wire here, Maybe I should film this and send it to Monster Garage, might get me in.
  15. Here's the front. Thats the little teaser there, there are about 20 more pics in the album!! Check out the album
  16. Can't take the credit for the T-case, as Lumpy and Mudrat had theirs in before I did, I was there when Mud's went in, so I scoped how to do it. I kept the stock Nissan input shaft, Lumpy had one custom made and stuck with the stock length of the front driveshaft. You don't have to do any flipping of the diff, you jes take a stock one, and jes put it in the front (provided you have enough clearence under the tranny first). I'm not sure if I'm going to go much lower than 3.90's, with the ER27, I have more than enough power to turn everything, actually, one of my structural tests was to burn off the rear end, and it didn't take much effort to get the one rear 30 spinning (I only have one axle in the rear right now), good news is that everything held up, not a single crack in any of the welds or anything (shouldn't be, there my welds). I might end up going with a larger diff if I can modify the axles to work, I'll see if I break any stubs or anything next weekend. Oh yeah, I'll be home pretty much all day tomarrow, not doing anything till late in the evening.
  17. yeah, I'm currently working on a setup that would use the front diff in the tranny as a PTO for an air compressor. I've got a 2 cylinder york compressor to hook to it. The hard part is machining a pully out of an axle cup, then there will be a belt from that to the compressor. I'll have 5 speeds at which to run the compressor. Man, I hate not haveing pictures to show, it's almost like making up stuff in a chat room without something to back up your claims.
  18. Sorry bout the lack of pics, don't have a digital camera, and it's my film camera has some how taken legs on me, I'm gonna try and talk SOOBME into coming over this weekend for a photo op, I know theres LOTS of people waiting for pics of the latest evolution.
  19. I used the prestone stuff on all my cars and it made a difference in all 3 vehicles, specially the ER27 that had been sitting on a wrecking yard shelf for 4 years. I would reccomend it if your haveing small fuel system problems. Also the 0-60 octane booster, works good too, I would have a little pinging towards the upper end of my boost (12psi), and this stuff stopped it all together, it's good!
  20. I went with the nissan x-fer case, it was easy, bolted right in. The input shaft that connected it to the nissan tranny had the same slip flange as the rear of the Subaru 5-speed. The case took me about a day to get it in there, it's jes the drivelines that took the time (coming up with the cash was the prob). I've got my wheeling trip next week on the 19th that I'm pushing to get it done for, and it's lookin like I'm gonna have it ready by then!!
  21. Here we go Before and after I'm not sure if there is much of a difference there though? Can anyone see it (anyone think it's the same rig?)
  22. Hey, didja email me? I've been having a problem with my email, I'll get stuff, but the body of the message will be blank, yours might have been one of those, I usually delete them unless I recognize the name. I have both sides of front fenders, they came off a 78? wagon, good condition, although I think one has a little rust hole in it, nothing serious though. I'm not sure how much shipping would be, or how to go about doing it, if your still interested.
