I payed 100 bucks for a 77 wagon that sat in a field for 20 years. I'm thinking 500 bucks would be a good deal.

Pictures of York A/C system anyone??
oleman77 replied to oleman77's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Thanks Mark....actually there is a guy on USMB that has an entire York A/C system which I'm interested in. I just want to be sure it will fit my engine. From what I can see in the pics it looks like the one of the compressor brackets holds the alternator and the other holds it to the engine? I hope to get pictures of it soon and will compare to what you sent. Thanks! -
Does anyone know where I can get a weather strip kit for a Gen1 wagon? I'm in bad need of the weather stripping for all 4 of my door windows. Thanks for the help guys!

I need passenger side rear tail lights, the one with the reverse clear lense with it (it's clear and red). I look forward to pics. Very interested in both rear light covers and radios. Thanks....pete

Color shouldn't matter to me. I'm looking for stuff above. If you have any of them please let me know. Thanks!

What do you have? I'm looking for an original radio, tail light covers, weather stripping in good shape and the plastic clips and screws that hold the rubber bag for the rear window washer fluid.

Should have the 24 in your account. Let me know if there are any issues. Thanks....pete

Build thread for 77 Leone Wagon 4X4
oleman77 replied to oleman77's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Well it's been a while since I updated you guys. Things have been going pretty slow but did get the engine installed last week. After a few minor issues it's running well. Front and rear axles are next. Hope to get them done in the next few weeks. It will be drivable then and will have to decide how far to go from there. Do I do a complete restoration or clean it up and enjoy it for a while. Anyway I have updated my photobucket if anyone is interested in seeing more pics of the continued project. Below is the link... http://s1093.photobucket.com/albums/i427/petetrosky/ -
Well haven't seen any action yet. Can you send me a pic of it?

EA71 EJ22 swap wiring questions
oleman77 replied to oleman77's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I still have the ECU so that's not a problem. When you say "pre OBD harness" you lost me. Outback ??? As far as the fuel pump goes I still have my sons old one. Just need to figure out how to get it in the tank. I do have an old tank but it is trash. It had fuel left in it then sat for 20+ years in a field. I could probably cut out a portion of top of bad tank and fit it to the pump. Then drop my current tank, cut out same pattern and weld in new piece that would hold the fuel pump in the tank. Sounds like a pain but I would be willing to give it a shot if you think its doable. -
Ok guys I'm looking for some help. My son just finished his swap from a EJ22 to a EJ 20K. Wow she's fast! I have a 78 Wagon which currently is powered by a gen1 EA 71. His old EJ22 was in great shape and I'm wanting to swap it in my old wagon. I have read quit a bit on older thread posts and have a lot of questions already answered. The engine will fit with modifications to engine compartment and cross member. My tranny will need to be changed. My EA71 is too weak. The question I have not read a lot on is the electrical. My son had to merge his harness but what would I have to do in my case? I have every little wiring as compared to the EJ22 wiring. My question is what would I need to do electrically? Do I send my EA71 and EJ22 harness and have them merged as well? There is a dude in California that did phenomenal job on my sons however it cost 600 bucks. Worth it for him but I'm not sure about me. Anybody have some good advice for me? Thanks for the help guys......Pete

I had fuel pump issues myself and this is what I found out: Found out the fuel pump is powered from voltage regulator. After doing more troubleshooting with a volt meter I found while the engine was running the fuel pump was getting no power. According to electrical drawings the power for the fuel pump comes from the voltage regulator output labeled "H". I also bought a in-line fuel gauge to check for fuel pressure at the carb which was also showing zero confirming the pump was not running correctly. I took the cover off the VR and started the car again while monitoring the VR coils. Neither one of them where cycling as they should (no cycling at all). The VR gets it's power from the alternator so thats where I went next. I put my volt meter directly on the battery which measured 12V when the car was not running. Once I started it (even for the 20 seconds) it was long enough for me to see that the voltage stayed at 12V instead of the 14V which is expected while car is running (alternator should put out 14V). This told me my alternator was bad. Changed the alternator out, the VR began to work suppling proper voltage to fuel pump which supplied about 3# of fuel pressure to carb curing my problem Hope this helps....pete

Build thread for 77 Leone Wagon 4X4
oleman77 replied to oleman77's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Haven't sent an update in a while. Took engine out, cleaned up engine compartment, cleaned up engine and parts. Didn't rebuild it, had good compression. Had some paint mixed up and painted the oil pan and valve covers. Put her back together and add a Weber carb. Can't wait to get the engine back in the wagon. Still need to get new front axles and cv joints and boots. 4" lift on order. Below are some pic's if you want to see the progress. http://s1093.photobucket.com/albums/i427/petetrosky/ Will send another update and pic's soon..... -

Miles fox, do you know of a member or anyone else that builds these lifts? I know Bill isn't planning on building anymore for a long time if ever with his new baby coming. The reason I ask is because you said 500 bucks which lead me to think you knew where to get one for 500 bucks.....thx
