1990 Legacy wagon, 2WD A/T The last couple days have been hot here in NY, and Ive noticed that when the car has been baking in the sun the spedometer gets stuck when I drive. This morning i got in and took off and it stopped at 20, then after getting back in again and hitting the highway it stopped at 40. Anyone ever have this happen or have a possible fix... it did it last summer too but didnt ask about it. thanks

Once I get working for summer break and I get a couple $ stashed away, a MS kit will be in my future along with some Delta cams. So some more MS info/success would be even more motivation. Will, i recall a few days back you mentioned something like Datsun 450 injectors are direct fit... could you elaborate on that please. -Matt

I managed to get 14.9 out of my XT last year. My brother's EA82t transplanted '92 Loyale wagon went 15.3, severely slipping clutch. I know i can get a few tenths off the last years time, so it is possible to have a relatively low time with the RX. With 10psi, Id expect it to run high 15/ low 16

I got to thinking today about putting a 2.5 into my '90 Legacy wagon. (I know all about the head gaskets and whatnot, so we dont need to go into that.) I just wanted to know if that is a fairly simple swap, or are there major issues such as wiring and CPU or other things. Has any one done this, if so I'd like to hear about it. My father&brother are subi mechanics so I have plenty of skills at my disposal. -Matt

Oh I dont question the purpose of the shields, Im just tired of my car sounding like a P.O.S. because they rattle.

I had really bad rattle on my '90 Leg wagon, and we put some clamps on it. Rattles came back, tightened clamps all the way, rattles came back. Pryed on it with a screwdriver a bit rattle lessened for a week then came back. Has anyone come up with another way to remedy this in the time since the last post? I think Im about to get some Nails/screws. -Matt

I know your pain!! I had a mouse nest in my old 87 GL wagon. We just pulled the core apart and went at it with the vacuum. Then hit it with some sort of cleaner. Big improvement.

I gotta say that the photoshop work on that is incredible, but to be honest the convertible doesnt really tickle my fancy. I'd like to see a 2 seat Baja, so that it has a useful length bed. (I love el cominos)... If you've got free time after the STi and Forester work....

I see some stuff online that in stock trim the 2003 goes 14.1 and the 2004 goes 13.9.... (and thats with a good driver) Sport Compact Car has it at 14.2

lol, he basically reeled me in at the line....Running heads up at street night, I dropped like an .015 light on him and ran a 14.9. Its startling how many people cant even get a halfway decent light with their ricers. Its a hell of a picture though

thanks I looked on Jegs and they had some in the $150 range, so that Altronics one at $50 is much better deal. Anyone use something different to measure A-F ratio

I am just wondering what method you use to monitor A/F ratio. Curious if its something simple or a full kit that you buy. thanks

I'd try to talk the price down, but its not all that unreasonable in my opinion.

I got my 2WD 1990 Legacy about 4 years ago, and its now got 277,000miles on the clock. I hammer on it everyday and I have yet to encounter any problems with it. (other than routine stuff, Oil every 3000, axle replacement). Yes 1990 was the first year they made them. Tranny issues, nothing other than mine is starting to get worn, but it shifts without problem. Just as fast in the 1/4 mile as my brothers 95 impreza 2.2l auto. (17.3sec). bottom line, highly recommended by me. \m/att

'90 Legacy Wagon = The Red Dragon (from 'Old School' the movie) '85 XT turbo = The Gray Dragon, The beast, been called winky by someone on here when i posed pics of it with my "ram air" headlight up.

I recall seeing a movie on tv a few months back , the name escapes me, but it was about these pro wrestlers trying to make it big. Anyways the "bad guys" and their manager roll into the arena's parking garage in a nice Brat, and the wrestlers are sitting in the rear seats. Another classic movie moment.
