subGSR replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
That is an awesome looking wagon. Nice and straight. What is the interior like.Have you done all the panel work as it looks very nice. They still look butch which is a good thing. -
If you are in aussie you may as well call over to NZ its only across the ditch.I am sure it wouldnt cost much more as it is a round trip. With the nz dollar the way it is it might be cheaper. Kevin

72 gl coupe for sale on aussie ebay
subGSR replied to maudsland's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Well I still say the lights are off a later model. I read an old Aussie wheels mag from 1972 or73 and they had the GSR in it and it had the same tail-lights as mine as it should have. It is true that every country had different models and arrived in different years than others. But if you get the factory brochres on the coupes you will see that fuji didnt release those tail-lights internationaly until late 73 and were available in au & nz in74. I am sure it is a 72 but I think the lights have been changed and yes the interior is in excellant condition and would like it for my 72 GSR. My 72 is in mph and didnt know that au changed to km in the 60s. But if I am totally wrong ( which is always possible ) I will give my GSR away.(just joking) -
72 gl coupe for sale on aussie ebay
subGSR replied to maudsland's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Its not a 72 gl. The tail lights are wrong. They didn't come out until 74,unless they are replacements,as if it was damaged in a accident. My Gsr is 72 and the tail lights are different and I know for a fact that those lights are 74 model. Not that its to important as it is still a rare car. They say it has 148000kms. The early subs were in mph even in aussie unless they have converted which still does'nt add up for a car its age. It looks tidy but something is not right. I suppose I am just being picky as I am sure the owners are genuine and may not know the finer details of the car they are selling. -
awesome! it just goes to show they are still out there somewhere. Board member Elad from israil, brother is on his way to nz and he is coming to look at the GSR. Any other members coming over in the future let me know.

First off merry xmas and a happy new year to all. I think the reason the person wants so much for the car is to recover what he spent on it. And thats not the way it works. Its not original for a start but I am sure it is a nice example anyway. We didn't get that model here and to have one, awesome. We were offered $9000us for the GSR about a year ago, and it is a very rear car, more so than the 77DL. The GSR is a 72 model and almost original apart from the paint. What do you think its worth as I am sure I could get between $5000nz to $8000nz, as early mitzy 70s GTOs in good nick are fetching up to $7000nz and there are more of them around.

The girls name is Anita and she lives in a town called Winton in Southland New Zealand. Her Phone numder is NZ 03 236 1951. Don't let on where you got her number as she would never talk to me again and I wouldn't be able to get parts myself. She has two FF1s a four door and a two door in racing strip. Photo in galley of the racing FF1. Her father owned a dealership and got all the old parts from around the country as they were going to be dumped I think.

Haven't been on for awhile been very busy. There have been old subies for sale on a NZ site similar to ebay. There was a 74 gft coupe and the last price on it was just over $3000nz. Don't know final bid. There was also a 77 sedan which is still on auction. If you want to have a look at old subies over here try www.trademe.co.nz every now and then. There are about 5 brats on at the moment and early 80s wagons.
-
Hey Rob did you buy the coupe from ashburton? The coupe sold for $340 and was in ok condition according to its old owner.
-
No I don't think so, do you want it. If you do my son is going to CHCH soon to check out Linkcon uni.
-
Most of the early 80s coupes had twin carbs over here. It will be good to get the ute fixed up it is way over due. There are not to many 80s coupes left as they rusted pretty bad. However you do come across a real good one now and then.
-
I have been offered a 80s coupe for about $60nz. It has no motor but otherwise is in good condition. I plan to use the guards(fenders)And bonnet(hood) as well as the doors to fix up the brat I have. Doors are impossible to get and this is a excellant find for me. The coupe also has the twin carb intake and a LSD. There are also heaps of other parts that I will strip before I find a home for whats left over.
-
Any photos of the 77coupe. Oops should have looked first. Nice car any side on shots.

Saw a gen 1 on ebay for $965.oo.us You could buy a mint example over here for about a $1000.nz which is under $500.us. They are very rare over here so why are they so expensive over where you guys are.
