Any EA63"S" engines in the USA?
subGSR replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Paul have you found any ea63 motors over there yet. -
Well the RX I saw is the same one I wanted to buy. I had a good talk with the current owner but he dosen't want to sell it. He has done it up and it is in excellant condition with 305k on the clock and never been touched. He also has a SVX and my son and I took one for a test drive today. It is to pricey at $13000nz. Of subject but does anyone watch Orange County Choppers.

GSR model kit on ebay
subGSR replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Would love to have a model of a GSR. Cheaper to run, easy to maintain, and no breakdowns unless it fulls of the dresser. -
Are those photos taken at the Subaru museum in Japan. There was one the same not far from me about two years ago but it was in real bad shape.
-
I take it that the car in the front is a 360. None of them over here.Cool collection. Keep them. Or start a Subaru museum.

well...I don't know...I'm from New Zealand. But if I could find brochres that the dealers had over here would be nice.
-
Just had another look at the brochres and suggest anyone who hasn't had a look to do so you will be impressed.

Low voltage reading, but voltage seems ok?
subGSR replied to TROGDOR!'s topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My brat is still doing the same as your RX did . I put a brand new alt on and it still does it. Took it to a auto elec shop and they had no answers. If we go spot light shooting at night sometimes the ute konks out. New battery as well. I assume there has to be a break in the wiring loom. -
my 79 and all its greatness!!! PICS! 56k BEWARE!!!

Bloody nice. -
yeh its the ea82t model two door hatch. I almost bought one for $1500nz about 3yrs ago in pretty good condition. They have RX II written on the side. 3 to 4k sounds alot. thats about 7k nz. $2000nz would get one in excellant condition as the jap import market over here is keeping the prices down on older models. My wifes 94 legacy is worth between 2-3k nz and its real tidy.

How much does a Leone RX2 in good condition cost in the states. Have seen a real tidy one over here.

78' Wagon with EA81 motor?
subGSR replied to captainkettel's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
You will find that the 1600 gear box will not fit the 1800. The starter motor is in the center on the 1600 and on the left side on the 1800. The belt housings are different. That is only one problem you will find there are plenty more. -
While we are talking about 4wd I have a wee hint for anyone who is doing up a motor in a brat or wagon. Stage one the cam. It makes a difference when you are 4wding and in steep country. I did it to my Leone and the off road performance was noticeable. It helps give you a bit more power when you go to 14" rims as well. Try it you won't be dissapointed.
-
Not sure but I think mid 70s. There was a 4wd two door and four door sedan models available about 1975. They used to advertise them in playboy magazine. If you can find some 70s copies you will find that subaru did alot of promotion in playboy.

look up tailgatewagons request to see FF1 and gen1 on this page.
-
If the FF1 you saw is on this page it belongs to a girl near Invercargill in NZ. Her father had a subaru dealership and the FF1 in the photo has a 74 GSR motor in it. And yes they are very rare. The racing one is in mint condition.

Any EA63"S" engines in the USA?
subGSR replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
The 72 and 73 model GSR had stage one cam from factory. This was stopped in the later models 74s onwards. Do you still have a 74GSR. -
Anyone else familiar with the 1400's?
subGSR replied to moosens's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
If the blocks are the same width as the early 1400 I see no reason why the intake manifold won't fit.Sorry Paul I might have got mixed up with what you were asking.
