I've never sold a car on ebay, but the reason I mention ebay is because your car will get a LOT of attention. A lot of people will see it. I would go on their website and read about all the associated fees, percentages, etc that they take out and gain a good understanding of that before you make a decision to list it. Also a google search of how to sell your car on ebay should probably net a lot of good resources to read into as well. There's a few options that I'm aware of, a plain jane auction with a reserve, an auction with no reserve, a buy it now only, and an option for people to "Make offer"s on your listing. Investigate and read thoroughly. That being said, like I said before, your car will get a lot of views on ebay though. Your keywords are important too, the more you use, the more searches your listing will turn up in. Good luck with the sale! How come you're selling it anyhow? Just tired of it? Don't drive much anymore?

Honestly if you were able to hold on to it for a couple more years you will probably get more. These old Subarus are finally starting to climb in value. Slowly. EBay would be the way to go I would think. List it high and see what happens.

Yeah that's easily a 2k car. I stand with my 3-4 k initial range. I'd start at 4. You might get lucky. Id be happy with 3,200 for that car though.

Beautiful assortment of cars you got there. Enjoy life!

rdweninger, that's what we call good deals though I would think. That's somebody who just didn't really even know what they had and just wanted to get rid of the car quick, I would think. In the OPs case, I would imagine being the original owner, having all documentation, etc should account for something. Also, I don't think this is a hatch we're talking about. I think it's just a 2 door GL, which I believe are worth more than the hatches (just noticed Joe commented hatch above. I don't think this car is a hatch. Original poster confirm?) So if we average out the prices everybody is throwing around so far, we're getting a general idea of roughly a low of 1k and a high in the upper 2's.

91 Loyale Turn Signal Flasher Problem
l75eya replied to Nonaof4's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The flasher relay is up in the dashboard. Way up. It's a nightmare to get to. If your hazard lights still flash, turn them on and then listen for the relay clicking on and off. Good luck. I wanted to take the one out of my old GL before I got rid of it, but it's just about the only relay that is a BEAR to get to. I gave up. Sorry in advance. -
To post a picture first you need to upload the photos from your desktop to a photo sharing website, such as Photobucket. Once you have it uploaded there, you will be supplied with sharing links. The link you want is a direct link (it'll just be a URL, just like the web site URL www.ultimatesubaru.org but it will be a bit longer and end with .jpg) as that direct link is what you put in the URL here in your message.

With everything being said, I'd start with an asking price of around the 3-4 k range. I think 4 would be wishful thinking though. I'd haggle from those points though. Anybody else got numbers to suggest?

That old dodge is pretty sweet.

I second theloyale, been running multiple vehicles with no EGR for years and have none of the issues you describe.

Check your coolant level. If you haven't maintained the cooling system in awhile, now is a good time to run through it. Check the main hoses, replace if necessary. Maybe replace the radiator if $$$ allows, as they can be had relatively inexpensive. When you fill the radiator, it is best to have the car at an incline (nose up) and after it is filled at the neck, start it up and turn the heat on full blast, then fill as the level goes down. If it starts spilling out, cap it off and then put some coolant in the reservoir. Your car has dual electric fans? I would imagine it would have one mechanical fan (drivers side) and one electric fan. The mechanical fan should spin all the time as it's attached to the water pump. The electric fan should run any time the A/C is on (if your a/c works) and also when the coolant temp reaches 210 F (IIRC). Check the wires coming off the electric fan at their connections for dirt, etc. Make sure the ignition is off when you check. If it is in any position other than off it can turn on suddenly. Not likely but possible.

Oil below the right side of my '88 DL
l75eya replied to Casull's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That stain on the ground looks old. Either way, to be absolutely certain it's leaking, and how much it's leaking, next time you park it for the night or whatever, lay a piece of cardboard under the front of the car and check it out in the morning. Not only will you see whatever it leaked overnight, but it'll be absorbed by the cardboard so you can identify it by scent easier as well. Also, peak under your car and look for leaks. On that side of the car you have the oil pump and the oil filter (which screws on to the pump). Look at those for fresh oil droplets on them. -
Nice roos! Nice RV! Nice Dodge! Nice driveway and lawn! lol

Swapping bits from 91 loyale to 86 DL
l75eya replied to JAmacT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Info on the DL is scarce as it pertains to your question. The doors will swap, yes. The question is whether the wiring harness is there to connect the power windows/locks etc under the dash. You will have to investigate. -
roll it out a bit and see if it improves. Could just be that the suspension hasn't yet settled back down after the engine being out and all.
-
Yeah I wouldn't go too crazy on dirt, still a good bit of traction there. Snow is harmless. No traction, no stress. Traction, stress, possibility of breakage.
-
If it's a part time 3.9 just don't use the 4wd, but even if you do use 4wd on lose surfaces like mud or snow, your not going to break anything, your rear end is just going to be much easier to slide around. I did 3.7 trans and 3.9 rear diff in 4wd Hi and lo all last winter.

Looks like they just replaced a line and put the adapters on existing lines. That is clean tho. Yes, black paint on the ea82 carb filter boxes.
-
I agree that it seems like a linkage issue. Perhaps you bent the shifter linkage and it is not properly engaging gears. I do know that if you leave the 4wd in between high and lo that it'll act like it's in neutral. Do yourself a favor and climb underneath, unbolt all the linkage and operate the mechanism for the gear shift by hand. See if it still acts the same like that. Same with the 4wd linkage. That'll help you narrow it down; If you do it by hand and it's still all the same you know you have some type of internal problem.
