  1. Without actually seeing it, it's going to be hard for any of us to really help. Pictures could help, maybe. You really have to just take a step away from it, clear your mind, relax a little bit, don't panic, and then just systematically start looking over everything until whatever is that's wrong stands out. It's a very strange problem you're encountering.
  2. Remove all four spark plugs and crank it a bit. Then replace them (may as well check gap while they are out) and try again.
  3. The one in the background is the ferry boat turned restaurant. I'm not sure about the blueish one in the foreground. And about the photo ops, the times square shot would cost 16 dollars just to get through the tunnel, then if I stopped in times square if probably get a no standing ticket while taking the picture. They will blatantly ignore you while writing the ticket despite any pleading and/or cursing. And valets, I don't let anybody drive my car lol. Those would make great pictures though definitely! Lol!
  4. It is an old steam paddle boat they docked and turned in to a restaurant. It was real popular for awhile but eventually went out of business. It's been abandoned on the Hudson river for awhile now, but there are plans to dismantle it soon.
  5. Scooner Posted Yesterday, 11:33 PM ^^^there's something about that pic that immediately made think, creepin around in a warehouse district haha in love it. Heres what's on the other side
  6. Congratulations Ben! 1993 to 2014. From 93 to 2009 your previous Brooklyn Asian owner that bought you be only amassed 52 thousand miles and traded you in. Then we got you and put 48 thousand miles on you in 5 years. Welcome to the 100k + club!
  7. Nice find! That's a decent price too, especially if you can talk it down at all. Great mileage! There are a bunch of guides on these forums to swap to 5 speed with dual range. It's an involved process not for the faint of heart, but if you are handy and have a good head on your shoulders, you can do it. The 3 speed auto is fine except that it is only a 3 speed and when you're doing highway speeds (65) the RPMS are going to be at around 3800 rpms, which is fine really, if the motor is maintained. These engines will pull 6000+ RPMS for 3 hours straight. Ask me how I know. I also know that it IS possible to hit 100 mph with one, but your rpms are going to be at around 6500 at that point so it is not recommended. =P If it's less than likely actually a 4 speed full time all wheel drive car (which I doubt but I could be wrong) none of the above applies. As far as the A/C is concerned you need to either recharge it with r-12 which is costly and hard to find, or convert it to the newer stuff. Turbo won't hurt at all. What will hurt is an inefficient cooling system. These cars need to be carefully maintained because if they overheat, the head gaskets are very likely to go. That is the most common problem with them and the root cause of all that is overheating, so you really should put all new rad. hoses, check out the radiator, fans are functional etc. Make certain.
  8. I couldn't get that box out. I was having the same problem. The bottom screw on the inside of the door wouldn't loosen. It would turn slightly in either direction but then stop. Then while I was messing with the linkage while the lock motor was running, it just stopped working and hasn't since. :-\
  9. Yeah, you could probably repack it and reinstall it and it'll run for a bit, but a replacement is def. due. I just replaced an axle I did that with looked pretty much in the same state of decay as the one you photographed. It was planned on only being used for about 1,000 miles but wound up staying on the car for about 5 to 6 thousand miles. By the end of that run it was starting to click pretty badly on left hand turns again (driver's front) but for those first 1,000 miles it was pretty quiet. If you want to use it again just keep in mind it's just a band-aid.
  10. A bearing manufacturing company with the acronym F.A.G. They professionally manufacture balls. ....Just sayin'.
  11. Had that happen to both my fronts, though when the pass side went I just had steering wobble, not a pull.
  12. Wih the spfi and mpfi models you need to connect two green plugs at the firewall to have the ecu hold the timing while checking with a light. If you don't have the MPFI or SPFI ecu and/or connectors, I'm not sure how you would do this.
  13. I just had this happen to my GL but I was fortunate enough to know what it was. New driver's side axle and problem is gone. I destroyed my already on the way out axle while offroading. Had a very hairy 100 mile drive home with it randomly pulling very hard to the right. I think to see if it's your axle, when it's pulling to the left try giving the car a lot of throttle. When the axle is bad, the extra torque from accelerating hard will straighten it out, and when you let off it will all loosen up and start pulling again. That's what mine did anyway.
  14. Nice. Do you have a thread on the process? Could you tell me what parts you got? I may try to do the same thing before I go replacing mine. Dual range?
  15. Replaced dragging loose crappy driver's caliper under warranty. No more clunking and clicking and sticking. Happy. :-)
