That steering wheel! I love it! Nice RX welcome to our community! Greetings from new Jersey

That was like 8 seconds.... What the Hell have you done to that thing lol

Driver's front done on the Loyale. It was a band-aid axle I rebuilt that was on my GL and only meant to be on there for about 1k. It was on there for about 4k miles. It did it's job. New axle was a bitch. Changed oil, mobil 1 + filter. New air filter. Adjusted timing but it was only off -2*. Still got my slight hiccup. Oh well.

You've got a good idea though, list it for 1k and see what offers you get. -

that $700 Loyale is a steal! Holy hell I wish the prices were like that out here. That thing is mint, all it needs is a new gov. gear to fix the trans. Easy fix and less than $100 part. Matter of fact I saw one in the classifieds on here awhile ago for $20 brand new. Wow... All the other ones are over-priced and the OBO is going to come in to play. The guy asking 2k for that green wagon? Insane. -
Sluggisn SPFI throttle response

Czny, thank you for taking the time to post this information. Those scans are great! Going to have to read through when I have some time and see what I can make of it all. Tps and iacv are my two suspicions. Have to see what I can find out about the tps adjustment you mentioned. This is great stuff. Thanks again! -
Thank you Jes and czny. New driver's side front axle in the GL. Now I've got two new in the front and one junkyard axle in pass back. Just gotta do that driver's side rear. It's great to be able to accelerate briskly from a stop again, and be able to take turns with my foot on the throttle instead of coating them. Doing the front driver's on the Loyale tomorrow. Oil change as well. Ben (the Loyale) is less than 200 miles away from his 100k mile birthday!

Around here because these cars are so uncommon, a pristine example with low miles would fetch close to 2,200. My car I bought for 1200. It was pretty mint outside, but the frame rails had been welded. Its got rust in the quarters. What it had going for it though was dual range 4wd and only 46k on the odometer. -
4wd and engine bay smoke
l75eya replied to Wheelbarrow's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Bump. I personally have no idea. It doesn't make much sense to me and unless somebody else has had the exact same thing happen, chances are nobody else is going to either. You're going to have to try and investigate this a bit. What exactly kind of fluid is it that's leaking? Does it puddle under the car? What color is it? Does it smell like anything? Is it oily? From what I know, the button you're pressing simply engages some type of vacuum system that moves a rod on the transmission. .....can't see how that could lead to any leaks, unless there's some type of seal at that part that begins leaking when in a certain position. Gotta get more details on here! -
Converting is a bit of a job. You need to install new o-rings at every coupling in the a/c lines. Then you need to evacuate the system of r-12. Then you're SUPPOSED to run some type of cleaner through it. I converted my system in a very ghetto manner last summer. I threw new o-rings in the easy to get to lines, and I filled it with the new stuff. It worked, but leaked out of the high side sensor eventually and haven't bothered with it again yet.

Just my .02 4wd isn't functional pass side might need new outer tie rod or outer and inner tie rods or new ball-joint or new control arm or ALL of the above And if the 4WD isn't working because of 1 or both rear axles You're talking a good chunk of change just to get all those things fixed. It really depends a lot on what exactly is wrong with the 4wd and what's bent/needs replacing on the front pass wheel If it's just that it needs a new outer tie-rod and a vac line reconnected to make the 4wd work, I'd be more willing to meet the $750 asking If the 4wd needs new axles and all those other front end things need done I'd be leaning more towards $500 Just being honest with what I'd be looking for. It IS a 200k + mile car. Windshield alone is gonna be $200. Good luck with the sale! Got any pics? -
Agree with above. You can bypass. Check out that post linked in. Very easy to do. Doesn't sound like pulse to me. Sounds like low pressure or maybe your ....I can't remember the name of it. Front of car, pass side under the hood. There's a sight glass on the top of it. Clear it off and take a peak, if you see bubbles in it while the a/c is on, you're pressure is low.

De-Smogging - LET'S DO THIS!
l75eya replied to Bratwerst's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that vac line you mention sounds like the HVAC controls. Pass side? To confirm pull it off and see if your hvac controls switch (vent, defrost, etc) Also, be careful with your fuel lines. Being that you're sticking to the hitachi, I'm pretty sure you can't mistakenly disconnect them, but check them out. Three lines coming from the driver's side firewall area. One big main. Two smaller lines. One is a vent, the other is a fuel return line. And if I recall, the anti-afterburn valve is connected or tee-ed in to one of those gas lines so if you get rid of that, you have to plug something. Make sure you have no fuel leaks. -
Sounds like it needs a charge. There are sensors that will disengage the compressor if the ac charge is low.

For my weber I left the vac advance and the HVAC controls. .... That's it. With a Hitachi, I can't see it being much different so long as you cap all the lines you take off. -

Can my 93 Loyale EA82 have died?
l75eya replied to myhilo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Oh and the pipe has an o ring. It isn't attached to the water pump, it's bolted a little bit towards the drivers side by the ac/alternator mount. Once you remove the radiator hose and take that bolt out, the pipe just pulls out of the water pump. Id suggest fitting a new o-ring to that pipe. I brought the old one with me to advanced auto and they matched it up. -

I'm not sure if you would be able to turn it by hand while it's engaged. If there's no charge, disconnect the lines and then try to turn it. You could also try just jumping it while the car is running to see if it turns. Make sure the belt is tight. -

Thought it looked familiar. Remember seeing it on eBay. Nice buy! That same dealer has had a couple of mint cars for sale. I work in Manhattan so if you see a random person beeping and waving wildly and gawking at your car, chances are it's me. -
