  1. Its just that one spot from what I can tell. I do have a few more pictures I'll add. That spot is right where the frame rail kinda curves down from the very front of the car. Picture is drivers side.
  2. I take it that this is not good; What can I do about this? Is there anybody that knows anybody in the tri-state area that can help me get this patched up/reinforced? I do not know how to weld. The frame rails were welded previously by the dealer I bought the car from, but I think those welds are starting to go. This worries me because if I can't get it fixed I'm either going to have to sell the car hopefully to somebody on here relatively local (The car is pretty clean on the outside) or I'm going to have to junk it, which would suck.
  3. Let me know next time you're in Jersey! Would love to see that thing. Also, do you still have the trim and mud flaps? Planning on keeping them?
  4. It's about time somebody on here has a Baja! Pictures!!
  5. More pictures. These are from the 2012 Burning Man trip.
  6. holy body roll Batman ! lol, looks like fun though!
  7. Hope that's not what's happening to my compressor! Oh and, I drove through the desert in my 87 GL in August with no AC and with my heater on full blast to keep it from over-heating. That was fun. =P As far as I know, there are two brands of compressor in the L-series cars. Panasonic ones (uncommon) and Hitachis (common). I think the way to tell them apart easily is how they were mounted. Facing the front of the car; outboard with the alternator to the left (panasonics) and inboard with the alternator to the right (Hitachis). Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the way it went down.
  8. Pushbar is great! Tires look awesome. What was the concern with them? Are they not automotive tires?
  9. Looks awesome with the black hood. If I were you, I'd leave it that way. Nice hatch!
  10. Willing to sacrifice our looooooooooooooooove Great song. And about previous comments... ...... Didn't really do any of that. lol I just threw a can of r134a with oil in it at it, then I changed the o-rings, and filled it again. It works good...when it works. maybe one day I'll do it right. If the Compressor survives. I went into this with the mentality that it didn't work to begin with anyway, I'll do whatever I can do to try and get it to work and if it does, cool. (No pun intended). If not, oh well. We'll see though
  11. Give it a couple good whacks. One of the wafers is probably stuck. Cars don't have pins like house-hold doors and locks, they have wafers, like filing cabinets. <-- Locksmith.
  12. Haha! Wow, that thing is a monster! That's a very nice build on that car. Somebody somewhere on here will give you info about that bumper if it's relatively common. Guaranteed. Just may take a little while for the right person to see it.
  13. key most likely is not magnetic. best way is to pull the cylinder and push key out from other side. try a pair of good quality tweezers.
  14. You can also put the front end on Jack stands and pop it in first gear in fwd mode and then hop out and look.
  15. Looks great! Liking the fogs and the roof rack. Been on the beach with her yet? Been meaning to text you and say whatsup, I've actually been in your neighborhood a couple of times the past few weeks, but I always get either caught up with work, or, if not working, just caught up not doing anything =P
  16. Your subie is def FWD only unless you have 4wd engaged. Make sure you put everything on right and tighten that axle nut REAL tight. Get her home and then hop back on here and start reading up on cone washers and axle nuts etc etc.
  17. really sounds to me like you need to use better gas and have your timing checked out. when was the last time you had it tuned up? read the posts above and answer our questions. we're trying to help but we can't do that without you helping us to help you.
  18. higher, yes. pushing 90 degrees. I'm going to add more tomorrow and see how that works out. I'm also thinking it's low due to air bubbles in the sight glass and how the system performs better at lower ambient temperature. this thread is awesome and very insightful. thanks for all the help.
  19. If you figure it out to be something other than the electric fan itself that is causing problems, you can always just go the ghetto way and put a switch inside the car. Wire the switch to the fan. Any time you run your a/c or whenever you notice your temp gauge coming up, hit the switch to activate the fan.
