  1. I would use an intake cleaner. I like the CRC brand one.
  2. No,not worth the effort. Took me a while and numerous rebuilds to realize. I don`t like store bought rebuilds either.A lot of them are pretty unreliable in the long run. New is much preferred and worth the extra coin.
  3. Could be wiring harness issue(s) ,but, probably not. I would just replace the CPS. O2 sensor heating element is intermittent.Live with it or replace.
  4. Check for unwanted AC voltage at the alternator output w/a high electrical load(high beams, blower fan etc. on) and engine at mid rpms. Measure at the alternator rather than the battery. 0.5 volts max.
  5. Get rid of the stale gas. 1-2 year old gas is too old.The more volatile components are gone and what is left is breaking down.Any discolouration is bad. Adding new to old doesn`t work well either as the damaged old gas catalyzes breakdown of the new.
  6. "The fine dust, if you didn't get it out by flushing with alcohol or brake fluid, isn't going to cause problems. It's no worse than the rust particles floating around in the fluid." Tell that to your ABS controller. Sounds like you need to flush your brake fluid. It is not a well known or even acceptable practice for bending BRAKE tubing. The reason I `m being such an "rump roast" about it is becauce public safety is more important than your fragile ego. Nobody cares if you blow up your engine w/your crappy techniques but brakes are important.Fixing them properly is important.People are listening. I`m ready to learn,if you ever do come up w/something to teach.
  7. You don`t need the #. Ask for a carb kit for an 84 brat or wagon to avoid confusion w/ea-82 stuff. Part store listings for post 84 ea-81s are typically terrible.
  8. 3/4 on the sight glass is too high.Should be real close to 1/2 all the time. There is a dot in the middle,IIRC. Repeated throtlle activation w/engine off will lower the fuel level. Your symptoms are more like fuel starvation, but, the sight glass does not lie about fuel level. Probably a carb float/float valve problem, but, it would be worth checking fuel pressure and making sure you can blow thru the return line into the tank. Plugs and wires good?
  9. Naru: Go grab some 1/2" copper tubing. Try and bend it. After you've kinked it, go get another piece, cap one end, pack it with sand, cap the other end. Bend it to whatever shape you need, uncap it, blow the sand out and it's good.. What does that have to do w/a brake line? Try to stick to the subject at hand. It's not criminal to do that for brake lines, however it is unneccesary. Small diameter tubing is less likely to kink, so it's easier to bend. So merely gross negligence then?
  10. Look down the carb throat w/engine off. Make sure the accelerator pump squirts when the throttle is opened. Check the fuel level in the carb sight glass
  11. I can`t tell you how worried I am about that! I suppose you would rather listen to people who would have you put sand in a brake line.
  12. BULL************ Putting sand in a BRAKE line is downright dangerous. I can`t believe anyone would defend such a practice in public. Lawyers for the folks you kill w/your failed brakes will be reading w/interest.
  13. YIKES,you should never ground that wire w/o a resistor in series to limit the current. You wont always get away with it
  14. Crappy line? Sleazy people?? Replaced a lot of brake lines have you? Your iinexperience is showing, fool.
  15. SAND??? in a brake line? That is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard!
