  1. Way cool! Yeah, to hell with the auto. Its not like we can get 3500 stall converters for these abominations. Stick is way more fun. As for the pump, displacement doesn't matter when you're pushing boost, especially when you've got two damn snails going. If you're pushing 14psi, you've doubled your air, and thusly your fuel and power. But if it runs fine, it runs fine. How much boost do you hit, anyway?
  2. Ah, so you're going electrical? Are you at least gonna use the Toy sticks to start with?
  3. How hard would it be to just stick a Walbro 255lph on there? They're only a hundo darra.
  4. Wicked cool. Doesn't look like you've got much left til it's drivable. How much longer there, ya think?
  5. I will probably be doing fronts eventually. Right now this is just an experiment. I think the stock fronts are those single filament bulbs.
  6. Holy balls, you've gotta share how you setup the sequencing. I've been looking high and low for a way, but most of them are either expensive or are complicated diy setups with a dozen relays and diodes. I'm making homemade LED tail/brake/rev/turn signal lights for my GLW. So far, got one of my turn signals done. Used about 45 white bulbs in it, in rows of 4 in series with an 82 ohm resistor. Now I've gotta convert my turn signal flasher relay from the stupid comboswitch to a standard flasher that's electronic and not thermal, cause right now it flashes about 40 times a sec.
  7. Oh, durr, I'm blind. Thought the subject of the thread had just changed.
  8. Holy wow! Good progress! And that drawing is sweet. :D

  9. I'm not completely sure, as I'm going off of my GL wagon, but you can probably rock 26s. Might just get away with some fender rolling instead of trimming.
  10. Depending on if you do much fender trimming, probably 27s or so, mayne 28s.
  11. What if you ran it up an A pillar and down the roof to the back?
  12. You ran dual pipes all the way back, huh? Dayum, does that take up much room? If it were me with a turbo setup, I'd be tempted to just run it up and out of the hood.
  13. I think the r200 route is a viable option, but not for the typical Sooby offroader, because your typical Sooby offroader is operating on a very low budget. Hence the Sooby.
  14. Depending on the size of your PCV hose, I usually just use a big clear gas filter. Worked great on my Talon.
  15. This plus this equals this I might add that the Toyota you see in the pictures got fairly stuck in the same locations, whereas my GLW with a 2 inch lift had no issues. IFS FTW!
  16. Sounds like a good plan. Can't hurt to try the 4.10s if they're already there. And the Toy's low range is a lot lower than the Suby's low, so that'll help immensely. What size tires are you gonna run?
  17. Rather than trying to figure out how to make a locker or fab another kind of rearend on, perhaps we should look further into installing locking hubs on the rear wheels so we can just weld the diff. We'd probably see an increase in fuel economy when running in FWD mode cause the rear CVs and propshaft wouldn't be spinning. Might just be a matter of fabbing front hubs from a Toyota truck on, or maybe even swap the entire Toyota IFS over.
  18. Just found this thread. Epic project, man. I'm very curious to see how this thing drives. Poor articulation and high gearing are the biggest problems when making an offroading Suub, and you've found the best way to combat them without resorting to go 'Merkan on it and just throw a Legacy body on a Bronco chassis. What I'm most curious about is how you mount your Toy hubs to the Suub, and whether you're gonna put your locking hubs on the front or the rear. I've always thought it'd be sweet to weld both diffs and have locking hubs on each wheel.
  19. Good idea. Probably. The circuit is dead simple, so it shouldn't be difficult. However, so far I'm getting quite good sound quality as it is.
  20. Thought about it, but I don't wanna spend much money, and I have 3 amps already.
  21. No resistor, just jumped it. I wasn't detecting any resistance when testing with the tape deck, and it seems to be working fine. Great, in fact. The only distortion I get is alternator noise when my mp3 player/phone is on the charger, which I will soon rectify with a capacitor of some kind. Next step is gonna be to hook up an amplifier. Hard part is that I don't want it visible, and it needs to be waterproof. Prolly gonna just build some sort of waterproof box and mount it in my spare tire location. Tryna think of how I can vent the thing, too. Might just run some ducting through the firewall with a 12v computer case fan.
  22. Hey, I'm working on making a snorkel setup kind of like yours that uses the EJ22 airbox. How did you do the piping where it meets the air side of the airbox where that funny oval opening is?

  23. Okay, so I tried it, and IT WORKS! IT WORKS GREAT! The sound quality in that lil stereo is pretty decent, too. Now imma hafta wire up an amp and some decent component speakers, and maybe hide a sub in back. Factory stereo FTW!!!
