  1. I was gonna run mine through the firewall and possibly weld or glue it up, that way it's sealed off from the engine bay and gets air and wiring from under the dash, should be fairly water tight from the inside. Since I was gonna have an amp in there, was prolly gonna need a small 12v computer fan to cool it.
  2. Considering the shock slide tube doesn't go all the way in to the canister when compressed, you can grind or saw down a little near the top to get a better grip on it and it'll still be usable.
  3. Have you tried an impact wrench? Those are great for those awkward bolts that you can't stop from spinning. And if you're gonna replace the struts anyway, might as well destroy them, right?
  4. Great idea! Would make doing the EJ swap a lot easier if you didn't have to reroute everything to the interior. How'd you make it so the wires can get in but it's still water tight?
  5. Kitty! Looks great! Very clean. My only concern with such a setup is that it could be easy to damage if it's sticking out the side like that. I like your waterproof ammo box in the spare tire location, been considering doing that to store my stereo amp. What do you have hiding in there?
  6. Sadly I haven't, the things been in pieces all summer. Was half way through lifting it another few inches so the tires would clear, and was swapping out the stock rears for Accord springs and Toyota struts. Once I get that crap done and get it drivable again I'll definitely try those springs in the front.

  7. Luckily the VCs on these cars are easy to access, and the bolts can be snugged down quite tight. But it does suck that gravity is not on their side. Ooh, I'd better go loctite my VC bolts before I forget!
  8. Thought about just switching to 80/100w halogens, but my alternator is already taxed as it is, hence why I'd much rather do Xenon HIDs and spend a lil extra cash. I just wish it were easier to swap a projector lens in.
  9. Have you done another dyno pull since installing the new clutch? Curious to see what power you're putting down.
  10. Yup, reman axles suck in general. I got the Oreilly axles with lifetime warranty. They usually start making noise within a month or two, and last maybe a year before the boot tears or it starts getting really noisy. I keep the receipt handy and they just keep replacing them, no questions asked. I'd rather go this route, though, cause these axles are pretty easy to replace, and I'd rather replace these once a year then blow up expensive axles every two or three years.
  11. Front mounted radiator huh? The stock water pump doesn't have trouble pushing the water that far?
  12. Good to hear it made such a trip without incident. Got any more videos? Preferably a burnout or launch?
  13. Maybe a mixture issue, do any of the plugs look like they're running rich? Stuck injector or o2 sensor perhaps. Did the problems start before or after your tuneup?
  14. Firstly, stay away from Autolite plugs on an import car, spend the extra few cents to get NGK coppers. Secondly, stay the HELL away from any FRAM filters, especially oil filters. They're literally made with cardboard. Get Wix filters if you can. Funny the mileage went so poor so fast. Is it running rough at all? Maybe a brake or two is sticking, have you lifted the car fully up and spun the wheels to see how well they spin?
  15. Nice! Very short vid, but plenty effin loud! It's weird to hear a sooby boxer motor with forced induction, and hear it rev and let off WITHOUT hearing a massive woosh from the BOV.
  16. Nice! Long vid, but I'm glad you didn't cover up all the car noises with crappy music.
  17. Nice! How are you handling the transfer case? Just weld the center diff?
  18. Yeah Jezsek, I think he mentioned he'll be working on a firewall in the back. But for now, just run without the hatch.
  19. Some glass places will pricematch. Try calling Safelite, get a quote for your car's windshield, then tell them some other outfit in town will do it for like $120 or $130 or $140, somewhere in that range. They usually don't even verify it, they will just match the price cause they want your business. I've done that and gotten windshields for several cars for around $130 installed, and the guy even drove to my house to do it!
  20. I checked Napa, Oreilly, Autozone, Carquest locally, and a bunch of stores online, nobody had them or could get them. I'd be curious if someone did get them from a store and where it was. But when the dealer wanted so much money for them and I'd still have to wait a week, figured I'd try my luck at the JY. The cone washers, spring washers, and axle nuts I found were in great shape, probably because they'd only been removed once or twice in the car's life. And I got like 6 sets for $10... I wouldn't recommend getting used wheel bearings from the JY. You can get really nice industrial quality pre-greased sealed bearings on eBay for like $15 a pair. They're bearing model 6207-2rs, and try to find them in ABEC3. In fact, here's a link!
  21. Diff lock?! Please, do go on! I was never able to find the cone washers at any auto parts store. The Soobie dealer wanted like $15 EACH and would have to special order them anyway. Didn't find anyone online who had them, either. But I went to the junkyard and stole a handful of them that're in good condition, even got axle nuts too. So I'd recommend just going to the junkyard, cheaper and faster.
