JWX replied to ChattavegasXT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'd just get a mega squit to run it, should be easier and you get more power. -
is there anyone in maryland that could help me?

are you getting power at the fuel pump? -
you could take a pair of vise grips and try that?

blue means oil, white means water or coolant(all though it would have a sweet smell to it if it was coolant) -

XT Turbo in 1600 AWD Hatch?
JWX replied to ChattavegasXT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
where did the 5spd awd come from? and what are you asking? which tranny to use, or which tranny to use with the XT turbo(which would be the EA-82T) -
If you have one loose (not on a car) just put something nice and flat over it and measure to the hub mounting surface. and what kind of wheels are you getting?

That’s not the reason that our engines are non-interference, is it? I allways tought it was becuase of how the pistons were made (with the valve dishes)

well for one its 4WD not AWD. if the other two cars are front wheel drive (I assume they are but wanted to make sure) then the trannys are FWD trannys, and they are diffrent from the 4WD ones -
the Les schweb website wasn't giving me the sizes of all the tires, and I haven't been able to find a 13 or a 14 inch tire at any other place
-
they have a small buckshot mudder? (runs off to search for it)
-
so how would that be easier than sloting the strut towers? just asking as your way sounds like you would have to fab up a set of spacers, then unbolt the engine crossmember, get longer bolts and then bolt it back together? my way has one step.
-
or just slot the strut mounting plate thingy(on the body where the strut top meets it) as I don't have a real lift (don't really think I need one yet or ever really)
-
hey I'd take a set of tractor tires, i they would fit under the stock sheet metal with out a lift. do you have a link to this tires? I searched last night for some but me and searching aren't getting along right now for some reason
-
I am sorry Dr. RX, I thought that, that was what you meant by "no without major rework". I am thinking about doing this with a ER-27, just to see what kind of gains can be had now that I'm thinking about it. Should make a cool project
-
I thought somebody did this but when I searched it came up dry. so I ask, will this lift the front of my hatch any?

I hate to be the one to tell you this but your link is......dead.....I'm sorry -
hey, I never said it wasn't going to be expencive, but it wouldn't be THAT hard. subyrally, there is a place to get them (the head gaskets) WJM got a set awhile back.
-
All you would need (theoretically) is a CAS (crank angle sensor) that you can modify, then grind up a couple of cams and then the crank, right? Cause WJM did want to go to a distributorless(sp) ignition system anyways, right? ess ignion system) system
-
do they make a 13in ATV(/four wheeler) tire? I'd love to get my hands on a set but I can't seem to find a place that lists them.
