  1. why not just pull the 3.9 ring and pinion and put that in the LSD case?
  2. but would that really matter that much I mean you'd probably be changing it every couple of days/weeks (you could also double clamp that might help)
  3. you could make a "quick diconnect" muffler system (just use a clamp)
  4. dude, the 85-86 EA-82Ts only came with 111 so you only had 111 stock.
  5. what a differnce it made, I thought my clutch was going (finaly ) but it was just the cable out of adjustment from streching (I replaced it about 6 months ago). I also adjusted my hill holder and it works, but it works on level/semi-level ground. Did I adjust it to much? (I say level/smei-level cause you can't really feel or hear it but when I'm at stop lights and take my foot of the brake pedal it doesn't start rolling back till I let the clutch out)
  6. do a search vegablade pics are all over the board of it
  7. what about getting a gear reduction box and hooking the stub axle to that?
  8. if your going to build this one why not just build the EA-81? I mean you already have it, it bolts to your tranny and it only sounds like you need about 150-160 hp to beat the STI. I mean if you deck the head, do soem good head work,(port and poilsh, 3 angle valve job) install 1600(EA-71) pistons (or get some made up) and a good exuast and cam you should be there. I just don't see the point in going to an EJ if you don't like electronics. you can get power out of the EA and it would take prolly the same amount that your going to put into the EJ. but do what you want to do I'm just playing devils advocate here
  9. I wouldn't turn the rotors; ever, bad thing to do if you ask me. now scuff them up with some sand paper or get new ones
  10. in the back to counter act all that weight in the front
  11. somebody did something like this to an Legacy wagon (its on Wva) its also been sitting on this car lot for about 1, 2 or possibly even three years (don't remember when the first time I saw it was) but I stopped and looked at it the last time I wa up there and they did it with plywood so its was cheaply done but it didn't leak any so they must have done something right
  12. your negative.................................stop it.......................... thats not nice
  13. I think the only one that got the distributor was the EJ-18 or was it the EJ-16
  14. yep I just looked it up it has 3.900:1 for the final drive and the rest as follows 1st 3.636:1 2nd 2.375:1 3rd 1.761:1 4th 1.346:1 5th 0.971:1 6th 0.756:1 anybody know what the WRX 5speed and the RX box has in its guts? haven't found those yet
  15. but would it really be better gearing for the EA-82? (I've never really seen a spec sheet that had the ratios on it for the 6 speed) I'd hate to spend all that money for the tranny and its no better than what you had before. but H*** why not? go ahead and try it
  16. why? I don't think you'll ever have the power(like over 300 I'd say) to destroy the EA case. but I do think that the spline count it the same on the EJ trans as it is on the EA clutch disk, but I'm not sure about that
  17. I've seen this same brat twice now so I'm going to see if the owners on here? its an gen 1, tan, with a high roll bar amd it looks mint. the first time I saw it I was driving down the road and I see it and I'm like sweet, today I here a subaru coming up my road (I was doing the brakes on my Rolla today) and I look up to see it agian and I'm like SWEET!!!! but the guy didn't look (prolly cause I scared him thou )
  18. Can you use brake hose for the EA-82s on the EA-81s? if not what's different? and when you convert over to to rear disks you just use the EA-82 hose right?
  19. can you re-set the ECUs on these like you can on others when you do mods to them so it learns itself again?
  20. how did you get two all of a sudden?
