-
hey GD, do you have an aftermarket gauge on yours? if so whats your pressure when to just start it up in the morning? and if anybody else is using 20W/50 with a AM gauge with cold temps what your pressuge? and what's too high for these engines?

mines in front of the tray and worse than GravelRX's:( looks like I have more work ahead of me come spring
-
while I was putting in my new battery I checked out the rust underneath the battery and its bad right there. like put the least amount of pressuge and it goes thru. so how do I fix this? do I cut it out and weld in a new peice of metal?
-
I can use 20W-50 in the winter?

ok, checked the clutch cable and thats routed right. on lubing up the pivot would WD-40 work for that? and I don't have any springs on the clutch pedal just the brake pedal. BTW just to make sure ya'll know this is my hatch, the turbo thing kind of threw me off -
ok, I went to wal-mart to get a battery first I thought that one was to big but I said f**k it I'll try it. Get to Advance auto take the Alt off and get it checked out and it had bad deode(sp) so I got a new(rebuilt) one. Its a two pully one looks like it came from an EA-82 but it works, I think. so I put that in and go put the battery in and its above the hood level so I'm like f**k, go back it side (adavnce) and ask for a battery. they bring up some that have 410 and 420 and I wanted mor than that, so I ask the guy if I could take the Optima out and try that out he says ya go ahead, put that in and it looks good so I take it back in and buy it put it in. hook every thing back up and its cool but it still does the drop (the volt gauge) when I put the rear defrost on. so I got the Optima and a new Alt and I'm out 150 or so. and hows that for a story.

ok is there away to take off the HH? and just put a spring on t it and bump -
ya, thats why I asked I don't want to buy a 100 dollar battery if I don't have too
-
ok my car wouldn't start this morning and I'm think the battery (as its like a million years old) so heres my question. Are Optima batterys worth the price? I want one but I think I could get away with a regular one just wanted to see what the board thought of them. (man, my post have been long lately)

Help me figure out this Odd Cooling Issue
JWX replied to syphon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
change your thermostat. you don't have to drill a hole, it will just warm up faster. if thats not it then change your rad -

I doubt its the cable. but I will check it when I get some time. and what it does is pops back up after I take my foot off of it when I shift like a bad return spring. one other thing I was thinking it might be is the PP would that do this kind of thing? which is why I think its the HH. I'm not saying its not the cable I'm not discounting your help I just really don't think its the cable as the one I replaced was the factory one. and I didn't even see how you could route the cable ABOVE the steering column. (and reading my first post I didn't explain it that well for that I'm sorry) -

I routed the cable the right way, the same as the old. but it shouldn't be binding. I'm thinking it could be the HH. Anyway to take that thing off or replace it? it doesn't work anyways(as for the holding it on hills) -
