ya they were at .040 and thats what a shop told me to gape them at. car runs great now that its timed right and it was way off like cam gears were like 6 teeth off on both sides cause that idler gear was just gone but nice and strong just need the key made and smog it and thats tomorrow so wasnt that bad to work on

ok so we got it running but by passed the fuel filter and it was making a lot of noise. just got done pulling the front of the motor apart cause we thought it was a water pump and one of the Tensioner's is shot and the belt isnt even tight or anything so to use it sounds like it jumped time cause i can move the belt on the gears and everything with no problem but wasnt the fuel pump cause that was a 300 fix so hoping this will be cheaper well we know it will be unless valves r messed up too but lets hope not

ok well the fuel pump is no good was able to find the plug for it and test it and nothing. so now trying to drop the tank and having the hardest time trying because the front one i cant get too cause there is a bracket in my way and have to undo the hole rear end of the car to get to the bolt or unless i mess up a tool to get up in there. anyone have any ideas? need to know like today

ok checked the fuel pressure and it pegs out the gauge only when cranking. acts like a mechanical pump instead of a electric pump. only thing we can think of is a bad pump and were going to by pass the relay and see if we can even hear it cause we cant hear it all all but with a electric pump hooked up and we crank it over 30 times we get 5 gallons of gas from the tank and only cranking for 5 to 10 seconds at a time. so could it be a wiring problem or could it be the pump is bad and is working like a mechanical pump. this is that last things we can think of

ok so we messed with it today and hooked up a electric fuel pump to see if that was the problem and kinda made a difference but still wouldnt run. pulled the plugs and check compression and 3 out of 4 had 120 the front right or front left from front of car had 25 to 30. put oil in the cylinder and got it up to 120. i know that a trick ppl use if the rings r bad but then tested spark and its very weak but but it all back together and tried it and got it to run for 15 20 seconds. anyone know what it could be. oh we pull the crank sensor out when doing spark test and had no spark when it was out but were lost still thinking it could be a fuel problem but we have to get this car done this week so please help me out

ya dont really want to do a swap right now but when my other car gets back on the road im going to rebuild the engine but i kinda wanna do a supercharger but never seen this done -

well i got another car but its being finished up and i drive the subaru every now and then but since i live in the MT's i want a little more power but still be able to smog it since im in cal. i was thinking a super charger or something but not sure. this is the first subaru i had and dont know what kinda mods i can do. i been arounds cars my hole life and been working on them for a while but not sure with this one haha -
well figured out what is wrong with my subaru. it turns out its the throw out bearing making noise. and i was thinking about getting more power out of my engine so what would be the best thing to do

well checked everything and could not see anything wrong with it but today when i was driving all i could smell was the clutch. could it just be the clutch ? -

so to check the wheel bearings do i have to pull it all apart to check since i have no movement at all on the tire
