  1. I have a 92 Loyale with a 4" lift, ej22 swapped in and also an older dual range tranny. The cv axles just pop and snap like its the end of the world and I have to keep the clutch engaged quite a bit when making a turn fom a dead stop, otherwise they will just blow up. I know there are plenty of lifted loyales out there, probably even with a ej22 swap and ive never heard of this being such a problem. This happens even with a brand new axle- right after installation. The motor, tranny and axles are all installed correctly, so you need not ask me that. If anybody knows of a solution please let me know!! Thanks- Frank
  2. Hey Rick, Frank here...

I just got back from MT and am starting to put the wiring together. Definetly have some questions, and would like to talk to on the phone if possible. I lost your number- my email is frank_a_bush@hotmail.com

    Appreciate it man,

    Frank

  3. Okay just got the harness and showed it to Jordan. Here are his questions:

    1) Grey 14 pin connector with red and black wire rolled up, labeled 10 amp switched- what does this connect to/plug in to?

    2) what connects to: yellow 9 pin connector?

    green connector with blue wire?

    green connector with black+red wire?

    3) what is the single black wire that splits in to 2 with tape wrapped on end?

    4) Where is the black+red wire that runs to neutral safety? As it is now there is only one green+black wire that is labeled "neutral switch".

    5) The black "tach signal" wire is power for the tach?

    6) which posts do fan relay 1 & 2 go to, respectively?

    7) 15a start/run needs to be spliced to ignition switch, correct?

    8) starter signal goes where?

    9) big black wire with eyelet gets grounded?

    Thanks Rick,

    -Frank

  4. Rick-

  5. hey general my name is Jordan. I'm the guy with the suby Frank is trying to take off my hands. I'm an ASE cert mekanick and think i have a good start on this thing. I agree with you secondary 02 can be tricky. I have found a few devices though. Smallcars.net has one. worst case scenario. Any way long story short the engine, engine harness, and main harness came from 3 different cars. all were claimed to be 97-98 legacy MT. I have two ecu's. in looking at the wiring diagram i have there are a few wires that reverse polarity between the MT and AT cars someone on here confirmed this. Need we worry? the engine appears to not have a EGR nor is there a lonely connector on the engine harness. so good there i suspect. I have matched up the the three jumbo connectors and there seem to be some differences there. Do you need a pin out? frank's got some pics on the way.

  6. Hopefully will take some photos tonight. The car is in my friend's garage so iv'e had to wait.. Just to keep you updated

  7. They are from a '97. So anyhow, what i heard is that I need a MAF from a 96-onward, how far onward I dont know. Basicly I need a 96' or 97' maf. So im thinking of just starting out with the harness stripping & if I can't get the rest done, well then i'll have to...

Im thinking i'll take some pictures of the harness and send them to you...? just to make sure we like what were working with here... whats your email?

  8. Looks like I need a mass air flow meter, also. Do you know a good resource for finding a 2nd gen air flow meter for a 2.2? I think the last one I got was from the first gen ej22. That wont plug and play. I am definetly interested in having the whole thing done. Just need to comb through it some more and make sure parts are there. Hopefully can make some real plans in a couple of weeks.

  9. Thanks dude... I think I may have just found somebody to strip my harness. we'll see how it goes down.
  10. General D,

Have you ever installed and merged a wire harness for a ej22 going into a 92' Loyale, or similar? I have the old 1.8 out, and the 2.2 is hooked up mechanicly... everything is done aside from the installation of the ecu and wiring. I am basicly looking for someone to do the wiring for me, and finally turn the key. Interested? If not, do you know anybody in the Seattle area who may be? I am on here looking for people who have done this before because the shops in seattle keep telling me they would charge $1400. as somebody else just told me- " if I spent that much on wiring, it'd be a PerfectPower standalone with launch control" anywho.... Thanks.

  11. So i'm trying to find a Sean/ Shawn? from the seattle area, who was formerly associated with Aarons automotive in seattle... Or anybody else in seattle who has installed a EJ22 into a 92' Loyale... How my project currently looks and what I need done: The old 1.8 is out, and the 2.2 is in. Meaning everything is hooked up mechanicly. about all i need is a O2 sensor and maybe a few small things. I need help with the wiring-harness (merge harnesses?) & ECU. None of the wiring is done. In a box I have the 2.2 ECU and harness/ miscelanious wires. At this point im just looking for somebody to finish this up for me. Sean from seattle, interested? Anybody? I called Kito Motorsports & Outback Auto in Auburn and they both quoted me 20hrs of labor and $1400 to finish the wiring. I thought that sounded f'n nuts. Thats why im on this forum now. Sincerely, Frank
