  1. i have a 90 loyale wagon with the e82t, my motor took a crap on me and im thinking of swapping it out to the non turbo one, is it worth it? and were can i pick up these engines used?
  2. Let me give you a little tip, cylinder head gaskets rarely blow. They just leak until the owner unbolts the camshaft covers and retightens the cylinder head bolts with some 3/8"x 17mm sockets. Takes about 2 hours per side. The cylinder head bolts loosen on their own. You get a long rachet to put as much torque into the bolts as you can. Then you have a running car again. Or you can take it to an experienced subaru mechanic and tell him what I am telling you. It would be a shame to allow that vehicle to be parted out, which I doubt that anybody would do. They really want to do exactly as I described and then sell it for a nice profit.

  3. I will sell you a used turbo for $100 plus shipping from Portland. I will sell you a pair of Gen 3 GL-10 cylinder heads for $350 plus shipping. Neal

  4. I'm going to do a compression test this weekend and go from there.
  5. Edit* Just might be the turbo that went and not the heads/head gasket. I will be looking it over, where can I find a turbo for this car
  6. Never done heads or head gaskets on this car before, any tricks or stuff I need to look for?
  7. hey all i have a 90 subaru loyale turbo wagon, i had the car up for sale but now im throwing around the idea of just fixing it. it blew a head gasket but not sure if the head went as well. where can i get some good heads from? the car has 65k on it.
  8. Your PM box here is full.

Yes, you can text me photos. Sunday before noon is best for me to stop over.

  9. Bear in mind, I need one week to get this car moved. The longer you wait on showing it, the longer it will sit in your driveway.

Have sent you my phone number in a PM in hopes to speed this process up for us both.

  10. Thanks for your time, appreciate it.

  11. I will send you pics when I get home from work, I didn't run the car long, once I started the car and realized it blew shut it off and never started it since. Yes the 4wd is perfect

  12. Sounds good to me. If you can take some photos of the oil itself on the dipstick, and tell me whether it ran through the turbo/intercooler or not, that would be greatly appreciated. I need to make sure the turbo itself is not ruined, the heads/blocks are not so important.

    4WD works too?

  13. The lowest I would take would be 600, I started the car months ago and was smoking really bad and shut it and parked it from there. So the car really wasn't driving with it. The car has 65k on it right now, I bought it with 51k

  14. $1200 is very steep for needing an engine rebuild. Let's make a deal since I really only need it for parts.

$450-600 is really what I could spend on it, since I'll end up having to tow it back to Hicksville anyway...

Mileage? How long have you driven it with the gasket blown?

  15. no major rust on the car, i fixed most of the body rust. here are some pics of the car
