  6. Let me know what you want for the tail lights, as long as there are no cracks. It would mean mailing to Canada though. Thanks
  7. Hi

Saltspring Island is one of the Gulf Islands - akin to the San Juans in proximity and geographical features too. It is half an hour by ferry from Vancouver Island via Swartz Bay or Crofton and about 1.5 hours from Vancouver (Tsawassen) via ferry. I like the Dead - always loved the skull and roses logos they used but my wife is the real Dead 'junkie.' I envy you Washington State folks easy access to the older Subaru models and parts. I'm an EA 81 fan and have driven nothing but since '84 apart from a Quest Van when our kids were involved in every team sport under the sun. I've been to 2 of the West Coast Subaru shows (Hood River and Shelton) and have probably seen you there. I know Ed Rachner - he is my main source In Seattle for those hard to come by parts. If you are up our way give a shout.

    Take care

    Richard

  8. http://nh.craigslist.org/pts/1075978712.html possibility here
  9. Roll bars are very hard to come by used, the link below can probably fab one up for you. http://autoweldchassis.com/rbc.ivnu A bars do show up used here, just keep looking. Shipping will be spendy tho'. An alternative would be to look for a roll bar from a smaller American truck like a Chevy S-10 and cutting it down to fit. There should be some posts on that procedure here.
  10. http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/pts/1055331276.html Complete and working, not too far away (Washington), but an older post
  11. My pleasure Ed, the roll bar looks good on my Brat. Good luck selling it!!
  12. http://www.ni-mo.com/subaru.htm California jdm importer - may be something here
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-SUBARU-AUTOMATIC-TRANSMISSION-W-O-TURBO_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ250061807917QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/85-88-Subaru-2-Door-Automatic-Transmission_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ330183580281QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Probably spendy to ship but worth a try if you are squeezed.
  14. http://www.car-part.com/ Have a look here - you can search all North America by region - also Aldergrove Auto Wrecking carries lots of Subaru parts - otherwise look up Malahat Auto Wrecking(outside of Victoria) or Saltair Recycling outside of Ladysmith (Vancouver Island), both have Subarus in the yard - Saltair has nothing but Subaru
  15. '... you gotta pull the whole dash off!" here's shortcut that works from the repair manual section - it's no fun, finicky and it does help to have a warm dry work area but it does the trick http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49964
  16. also check to see if your return spring on your hillholder is there and working properly, if not it could be the problem - i drove a hatch up from Portland and had the brake lock up on the freeway at 60 - missing spring was the problem
  17. ... good source for used parts here ... http://www.car-part.com/
  18. For future reference if you have to deal with mechanics in Victoria go to TC Motors on Rock Bay Avenue. They mainly deal with German cars but a couple of their mechanics are Subaru enthusiasts and know their stuff and won't run you around. Good luck in dealing with Saunders. I wouldn't touch them for anything.
  19. ... here maybe .... i know nothing about the outfit though .... http://www.junkyardjones.com/fenders.html
  20. Check the Parkers Guide as a rough measure - also ebay uk.
  21. http://www.drivewire.com/subaruparts/catalog/subaruhatchbackhoodlatchandstrut.html I've used these folks in the past, can't remember price tho'.
