  1. Hey if you want to come look at it my number is 530-701-9997. I will work on Friday, If you want to swing by my shop let me know ill have it there.

  2. This car is up for sale in the classifields. If anyone is interested let me know.
  3. So my friend is going to keep his subie, I don't have the time to keep the car for the work it needs. Ill be bumping my post I made a while back to sell it. Ty for the info.
  4. You know what I noticed that when I took the dipstick out it had little tiny air bubbles. Any idea if there are oil pumps for this thing anymore? I looked back when I did the headgaskets and I couldnt find a new one, You think the real seal would do it? I havnt replaced the pump before and it always worried me that it would go out. Thanks for the info
  5. Ill give that a shot, I did the timing belts and pulleys at about 10k miles ago, when I first got the car, should I do them again? Also did the water pump at the same time. How long do they last? its a cheap fix and not a lot of work. I bought a full gasket set from felpro I think it has the high temp o-rings. Thanks
  6. So for a month now, in the morning I could hear my valves pinging, soon as it heated up it would go away. Now yesterday it got really loud, so I parked it. Now Im not sure on what would be best, Rebuild the motor I have. Get it ready for an ej swap. My friend has a 96 outback, he might be selling it to me. I am not sure how difficult that would be of a swap. I have read ppl doing ej20g swaps but not ej25, Maybe im not looking good enough. Ive heard alot of the ej being a semi easy swap. My friend(who owned my rx before me said the bolt pattern for the motor are the same?). Also keeping that duel range would be nice(since it shifts so smooth). Money is a factor also, I am currently moving into a house so that I could actually do some work on my car. I changed my head gaskets on my ea82 in my apartment complex(they didnt like that lol). I used my rx for 3 years now as a daily driver, Love the car. After I did the headgaskets and left it stock I didnt have any problems with the motor, I know that the rebuild is about 1200. I Hate to see it go but if it does it will def be to someone on this forum. Without this forum I would'nt have had it on the road for that long. It let a car noob like me do all the work my self. Well back to more reading on the forums Ill see if I can find that ej25 swap. If I do end up putting it for sale, Ill re post my original post on selling it. Any info on this would be great so that I can see if Ill have enough time to do a swap.
  7. Wow Ive been gone for to long. I am not sure about what Im doin with my rx yet. Soon ill let the forum know so they can snag it if I do end up selling it.

  8. So question , Did you end up buying another duel range tranny? or did you swap with an ej22t one? Does the ej22t Tranny fit in the Stock Rx set up? About How much total time and money did you spend? I need a ball park to start saving, and finally what advise would you have to someone doing this from scratch?
  9. Thanks , I'm still working on it, I am actually thinking of doing a ea to ej swap, but I need to do lots of reading and save up some cash. Hmm.. Brings me to a question, Is it worth swaping an ej25 into it? I have a friend who has a 96 subaru Legacy. It seems like the ej20t is an expensive swap.
  10. Ive been looking on ebay and that is the only one I found that was in my price range xD. Ill end up using that one, hopefully it comes out just as clean.
  11. Damn that is THE SEX, I remember there was a small hood scoop, not sure from what year though, yours came out pretty clean. What did you use to cut it? Will a plasma cutter work?
  12. I'm looking to put a hood scoop on my Rx, I know Ive seen a small hood scoop before but I cant find one, does anyone have any pics of a good hood scoop?
  13. I got some things I need to fix on it. My diff lock light is on all the time. Not sure what it is, when I put it in reverse it dims for a second, also my speedometer is lagging by 7 mph, it sits below zero when its off, and my oil pressure gauge is sitting below zero as well, I am thinking its some wiring problem, I had to replace the motor when I bought it. So I'm sure it was my doing. Its been running great so I have not worried about it, now its just bugging me lol.
  14. Hows it going. Ive been using the forum for a bit to keep my Subaru alive. Thought I would finally put up some pics of my 87 Rx ea82t. It used to be Subaru gurus. http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/1299/imag0300w.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7068/imag0303k.jpg http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/316/chitoscar.jpg Ive changed the engine. Had to my buddy who bought it blew the one on it and I had to buy one off ebay from japan. Then I changed Head gaskets, Intake gaskets, and every seal, and the Usual maintenance. If it wasn't for this forum, I prob would have sold it by now lol. Thanks to you all ! Had to edit that last pic in. I just found it on my brothers computer. My manager put that ************ on my car. The same day I drove to Sacramento with the sticker still on lol.
  15. alright ill take a look at that, ty, havnt been driving it so hopefully not to much damage was done.
  16. I was told it was my trans, Not sure what my options are here, any ideas? Anything would help
  17. I was told it was a bad terminal connection
  18. Well I have been driving this for a while now, and never felt anything like this before, I am a car noob, but when I start letting the clutch out and giving it gas it doesn't feel like there is power going to any wheels. It slowly speeds up and soon as I hit 2nd gear it feels like it supposed to, power is there and everything.
  19. I have an ea82t 87 subaru Rx with duel ranged trans. I am having power problems with first gear, soon as i let go of the clutch and give it gas it doesn't want to go, but as soon as I get into 2nd+ gears its fine. Friend of mine told me its prob my trans, if that is the case, what would be my options for replacing it?
  20. I have an 87 Rx with an ea82t, so I tried to start it one morning and it would not crank over. Figured it was the starter because I knew it was bad(had to hit it every once and a while for it to turn on) well I replaced that , also replaced the battery because it wasn't showing any volts when I first put the key in. So with the new starter and battery in it, I put the key in and it showed volts, soon as I turned it something clicked and then it didn't show any volts again... now I'm just lost...Any ideas?
