  1. If they won't do it for free, we can take them to my Bro's shop and defintely get them done for free. I'll do it if I have to.
  2. Geez about time! Yea so when/where is the lifting party? I have all next week off and only plans are putting a new oil pump/swap strut extensions on PC to get it back on the road so I am free to help if needed!
  3. WJM had brought this up before and provided us with a link to a place that makes em all basically..not cheaply though. http://www.truckn-store.com/product_category.asp?id=513
  4. Welcome a board! Always like to see more locals hanging around here...
  5. Hmm, bad remembering names..but the ones I know off the top of my head are: Eyesore ShawnW Kingbobdole TurboXT Stngllhm Wings1200s ccrinc JerryDeMoss (Just met him today, nice meeting you Jerry) meet a few other locals but not sure I actually knew their board names, others I just can't remember at all. Need to meet alot more of the locals and put some names with faces.
  6. Pretty sure this last time was my fault, I used the used pump but should have been good oil pump outta of my parts car. But didn't use brand new seals, just the ones I had used to reseal the old one a week or two before that. In hindsight probably wasn't a good idea. Could go back in a reseal this one with new gaskets, but if I'm tearing it down again might as well use all new parts.
  7. Hehe well I kinda bid on it first...so thinking you just drove the price up on me ....haha seriously though if you want it when I get my custom bumpers built (hopefully next month) it's yours Phil, or we can just get you custom bumpers built from my friend here in town too... By the way PC is dead again...another oil pump problem, lost almost all oil pressure and started TOD again like crazy. Just gonna have to dish out the cash for a brand new one.
  8. Well I can tell you they work, that's what I'm running on Project Cheap. The big thing is that since they are minus the washer part they will not self-center the wheel anymore. So you have to get tricky and tighten them up in a cross-pattern while making sure they are actually centering the wheel-up. Haven't come untorqued yet and they do hold them on. Took me a few tries to learn the trick to getting the wheel centered each time. An air gun helps alot with this, but I have done it without it just takes longer.
  9. Some better pics in the daylight and of course after I cleaned it up and re-painted it...Now it looks GOOD!
  10. Sweet, hopefully you'll notice the same cooling difference as I did.
  11. Chux- the cross bars aren't really as long as they look, but yes they will eventually get about 3" trimmed off each side. Defintely after seeing your picture..... Been driving PC as my daily driver for the last week during the -8 degree and snowy weather (since the RX still has it's summer shoes on). It's been doing great, running well...sucks in the snow really bad in FWD, but as soon as you throw it into 4WD it rocks! Well it actually warmed up a bit today so I got to work on trying to fit the bull bar for an EA81 on PC. Turns out it wasn't that bad at all, I didn't have to modify the bull bar at all, just had to find a good place to bolt it up (around the old tow hooks) and make a couple of extensions to move it out a bit. And of course move my lights since they were in the way. Looks good, is on there solidly, though I will have my friend build me some thicker better extenstions for it until I get the custom bumpers made. Now I just need to pull it all back off and clean it up and give it a good new coat of paint. Pics as always.... The bolt-up and extensions I made (man I need a welder bad):
  12. Hmmm well if I do make it, which is very possible just might be a tad late I'll probably bring PC since I haven't had a chance to show it off to anyone on the board yet. Not that's it much to show off, but you guys have only seen pictures unless you've seen me driving it this week. Could always have the wife drive the RX though too...they look good parked next to eachother. I say we bring the lifted Roo's and even throw a party before hand to get Rick's lift on in time if we have to..... On a side note I always get the week off between Christmas and New Years so who's up for some wheeling someplace that week? PC needs to be broken in, if it can get there under it's own power
  13. I accidently shorted the sending unit to ground while the car was running on Project Cheap (stupid skid plate)..did that same exact thing to the gauge except it actually read negative at idle. Swapped sending units, wiring etc...nothing changed. So guessing you would need to replace the whole cluster, at least that's what I was thinking on PC. Said forget it and installed an aftermarket one which I trust more than any Subaru gauge anyways. But if it was in my RX, I would get another cluster for it since I love the car alot more.
  14. You got my attention... On PC there is a 10" Flex-a-lite fan on it that I had sitting around, was originally meant for the RX but wasn't room in front of the condensor or behind the radiator for it. So the RX got an EA81 Electric fan instead where the mechanical one was. Tried an EA81 fan on the inside on PC but the lift moved the engine to far down and it would hit the Alt/PS, so went with the flex-a-lite on the outside blowing in. Once you remove your condensor there is a ton of room for a fan in front of the radiator, even if you have a 2 core (which all my Subaru's have). I bet your local parts place would have a decent 10" fan that would be perfect for it, just make sure it's one that is really meant to blow or suck. The one on PC will cool the car down in no time flat which surpised me, WAY more efficent than the OE Subaru one that is on the passenger side of the radiator, seems to take less of a draw on power also. I run the flex-a-lite when needed, will probably never have to turn on the OE one at the same time unless I'm really beating on the car or something. Make your life easy and pull the bumper off to do it. And yes this one on PC is held on by the stick through the radiator plastic things, which most aftermarket ones are....so be very careful installing it so you don't screw up your radiator and get it on as tight as possible!
  15. We have only lost one at Red Rocks that I know of, have had a few meets there too. I might be able to make it, but I work on Sunday's so chances are I won't. Will see.
  16. Wife's 94 Legacy - Running Great My 88 RX - Running Great Project Cheap 86 Lifted Sedan - Running good, drove it today in the snow and -5 degree weather on the way to work. 88 DL Sedan - Not running at all, but this is just a parts car for Project Cheap, it did run before I parked it. so 3 out 4.
  17. Not good with threads or I would tell ya Phil, WHEN we actually meet up I'll bring the old idiot light that used to screw in there so you can go to hardware store to compare and see if you can get an adapter for yours. It truly is a much safer/better place for it. --Big Day For Project Cheap Today-- Indeed, and for me too I'm beat. Wanted to get all this done before the snow starts to fly here hopefully starting tonight! Installed the new Master Cylinder Flushed and bled the brake system with new fluid, and lots of it. Installed new rear brake shoes (had them around), old ones were totally gone Swapped in a good CV axle on the front Went to go for a quick test drive...the damn steering extentsion falls off!!!! That really sucked but glad it did it in my driveway. So put that back on, and made sure to get it on good this time! Ok now let's go for a test drive, brakes are better...well still suck but don't have to pump them and sure the rears still need to adjust themselves. Had to cut the ride short because the damn engine started doing the TOD AGAIN!!!!! Getting extremely pissed at it now and am thinking it may just be time to suck it up and rebuild the other motor while I run some MMO/etc through this one until it actually dies. Anyways came back and said screw it going to finish all the work I can before it gets dark. So I also got my new Roof bars installed, with my spare tire mount from an XT all mounted up. I like it, just need to get an actual tire on my spare rim, some more lights for up there and add some bars going front to back to strap stuff too. But I'm out of money for at least until after the New Year so it's about as done as it's going to get for awhile. Here's a couple lame pics of the new roof rack thing...sorry was getting dark.
  18. Emergency Brake locked up/didn't release somehow? Sounds like a fun problem Phil!
  19. Yep that's what I thought, thanks for confirming guys. Might see if it won't mount up on PC somehow anyways..till it gets it's custom bumpers. But I DON'T want to chop or modify something that someone (or me) could use one day, these may not be super rare but rare enough not to butcher it. Unless of course I do butcher it up...you never know, might be part of the custom bumpers.
  20. You know me either, except for someplace on the board...Maybe McBrat? Going to go look in his gallery now. Plus just doesn't look like the mounts I've seen on any of the EA81 ones.... Edit: Yea McBrat..this was the one I was thinking of when I saw the one I bought. McBrat's Wagon
  21. Don't know why I went and bought it, but just because I guess (was actually figuring someone would out bid me)...and Kingbobdole drove the price up on me a bit too.....cough cough. JK Phil, no harm.. From the looks of it I'm guessing it's for an EA81...but since I've never seen one of these in person (on it's way to me) I'm not totally sure so turning to the experts on here. Seller only knew it came off a GL10 but wasn't sure what year. Was hoping to put it on Project Cheap, but not really since it's getting custom bumpers in a few months here anyways. Was one of those just for the heck of it things, might just sit in my shed for years...lol. Ok so EA81 or EA82 so I know for future reference? Might have to go buy a car to put it on if it's EA81...lol
  22. Looks hot, I love that bumper! Are those places for a flat tow bar on it??? That Rocks! side note: looks like you have a front camber issue (Like the same exact problem I have on Project Cheap)? Or has the suspension not settled yet?
  23. 1 Farad should be good..only seen bigger ones in really heavy modified stereo's...like pushing 1000's of watts. Even then the biggest I ever saw that I know of is 2.5, and that's pretty serious. They are not something you want to play around with, and yes gotta remember to discharge it before you move it, disconnect it, etc...or you may get a nice surprise
