Yea well gotta give up the RX for this one most likely...but yes dual way heated seats, heated mirrors, hell even heated windshield wiper defroster things..and a VLSD in the rear. Nicest car I've ever owned really, minus the ones that have been my wife's. At the moment there is 6 Subaru's I own at my house, 3 must leave. Anyone know off hand if my 15" wheels with brand new snow tires from my 96 will fit around the brakes on the 00' that came with 16's?

With the decision not to fix my old 96' OBW, we (wife and I) got down to talking and running some numbers...and bam my replacement is in my driveway. It's an 00' OBW with everything minus the sunroofs, auto, 127k..heated everything. Got a decent deal on it, but it has a few problems. One it needs brakes, possible CV, and the stereo doesn't work , well guess it works but doesn't produce sound. Will swap that with my nice stereo from my old OBW. Very clean interior, exterior good with nothing more than a ding or two. I will tell ya though we got caught in traffic for an hour on the way home and man everything felt backwards but very comfortable. Sneak pics since it's late out. Proof the old school guy can jump all the way to the 00 models! (Tis dirty so ignore that): Now the old OBW with a bad headgasket and a few of my other cars need to go...part of the deal I made with the better half.

Some of you may recall my 96 OBW that I resurrected from a crash that the previous (1st) owner had in it. Well have put almost 10k miles on it in the last 7 months, thrown lots of fits in the last month (Bad VSS, Bad Alt, Throwing misfire codes so got new OEM plugs/wires) and just put brand new snow tires on it and on my way home today it blew a headgasket. I managed to not overheat it yet still get it home But now I'm faced with at minium a HG job on it...seems to be not worth sinking anymore money into it at this point. Though it screwed me out of my daily driver for now, and will be forced to take the RX out of retirement for a 75 mile a day commute for awhile. Talking with the wife it may just be time for me to buy a new one and get rid some of my others that can't or shouldn't be used as daily drivers. So all I have to say is Monday's do suck!

Gotta get some time here and clean my grill up and throw it in a car. Will probably bring the rig for the fun of it , and it won't be clean or pretty but never was I'll pick up some chips, dip, stuff since I think I need to go pick up some more charcoal for the grill anyways. Anything else needed let me know. Also my iPod is almost always with me if we need tunes... Jerry will bring you a turbo and downpipe too... (I can also bring the off-road poster Zap and Tex put together if anyone wants a look my rig is on it!)

dual range shifter, stupid location
DrKrazy replied to ivantruckman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Umm yea going to have to agree with Turbone on this one... Or you have some messed up linkages.. But yes some of us have relocated at least the lo-hi part of it, and I sure you could just move the whole thing if you wanted. Here is the link to the write-up I did on the Lo/Hi stick that may help you a tad: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71289 -
Yea there is something strange about most of us....something to do with the need to own multiple subaru's? 2 isn't enough...gotta have at least 3-4 . Or in my case 5 isn't enough and I really want a 6th no joke seriously thinking about buying another soon, as the OBW is really starting to tick me off. As far as this weekend goes...I did actually fix a few things on the lifted sedan and drove it around for the first time in several months this last weekend. It has a tough time climbing I-70 but I would do it at around 50mph if I'm lucky. Only thing is the OBW has been throwing fits all week. VSS went bad, had to replace it and even gave it new tires at the same time. Bad VSS on 96' Auto OBW=No speedo and limp mode (and I mean limp that damn thing barely ran). Now it's throwing mis-fire codes on cylinder 4 the last few days so gotta work on it this weekend and get that fixed. So will just have to play it by ear for me. Jerry if you want you can take my rig if I don't go...EFI FTW! hint hint.... Edit: Whoops I own 5 not 4....LOL

My take on this is: 1. Choose the body style you want 2. Choose the engine you want 3. You have your wheeler... We all have to remember these babies are lego's in disguise On a personal note I own a lifted EA82 Sedan (very proud of it, since there's is very few lifted sedans in the whole world that we here know of)...I have also driven a lifted EA81 Hatch, granted not off road but have driven one. Jerry's EA81 hatch is cool, small, built well, but still lacked power. My EA82 sedan is not *that* much bigger but is more comfortable to me and actually feels like it has slightly more power (still lacking hardcore) and I'm running 29" tires. Granted I think this is due to my low-2wd mod. In the end I think they are probably fairly compareable. Both underpowered but very capable..also remember it's not just the car, off-roading of any type relies heavily on driver ability!

Funny how I start talking about you Eric and you pop in! Saves me the trouble of going to your house since I couldn't find your number anywhere.... Looking like the weekend of the 20/21...and thinking Saturday over Sunday.. So what do you guys think Saturday the 20th??? Yea let's try for that date, edited first post with more info, location, etc... Who's bringing what???

You could of also sucked some junk from the bottom of the tank into the pump or filter. I would check the pump (turn the key to the run position and you should be able to hear it run for a second or two, may need to open your back passenger door to hear it), if that's running I would check for gas at the fuel filter...and replace if needed.

Really not hard to find at all, will post up directions/addy/etc once we set a date............ .................. .................. But yea I'm very close to the Colorado Mills area, really right up behind the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Someone go kick Shawn, Jeff, Rick, the Tom's, and anyone else who hasn't responded Also has anyone heard from Eric (Beefaru) recently? I know he has been super busy but maybe I'll give him a call too...always a pleasure to see his wagon even though we won't touch it

CO ppl look here!!! Looking for parts!
DrKrazy replied to yodannyc's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
There is a CO member that happens to have a Parts RX at his house Of course would need to move it back to my driveway to pull the rack out of it, and somehow make it so I could still steer and move it around..which maybe the biggest challenge there. If you have trouble locating one let me know and we can work something out, maybe just throw your old rack back into my parts car... -
--Off topic but of course us Coloradans' like to blab-- I have a few pics of your hatch from before it's transformation, if you want them I can send them to you or put them on one of my server's for you to download. I took them that first day you really had it out and over to my house after the engine work...believe it was the first time you drove my lifted rig too :-) In fact it was this day: We need to get another one now that your transformation is close to being done (not like any rig is ever done really..) A Before & After Let's get dates available in October from most people then set a date Edit: Here's a good before~after pics of your rig Jerry gotta love your friends with cameras that use them

Alright fellow CO Folks, are we ready for another meet? End of Season BBQ? Idea has been tossed around between a few of us, so throwing it out there now so we can set a date/plan. So far just thinking another BBQ at my place in October. All the usuals know my house and always cool to fill my rather large driveway with Subaru's for pics Or........??????? Remember this? That led to this... (Though no more playing in that nearby public electrical land, if you didn't hear I got yelled at for it. The horse land next to it is owned by a you know what ) EDIT:Possible change in plans, see Beefaru's post later in the thread guys.... PM BeffaRu for directions etc.....IS NOT BEING HELD AT MY HOUSE ANYMORE!

COLORADO: Labor Day in Rockies
DrKrazy replied to Toms Brats's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Yep I'm blind too, not that it matters. Been working 14 hour days and will be working this weekend too . If I'm lucky I may get Monday off.... -
Yep, Mike is right that is Tom's (Eyesore's) Hatch....super shocked to see that he is selling it. Tom is great guy, and that Hatch is sweet (I still remember it from when it was stock and he had just bought it). Heck I even have a pic from shortly after he bought it back in 05': Plenty of us Denver and surrounding areas USMB folks around, and there is a heard of a few types of Subarus in my driveway if you ever want a look...
-
Damn looks really good Nipp! Have them drive it around for a bit too...that should also help settle the suspension back down before doing an alignment. I would still put the camber kit on to get it as close to stock as possible. Some of us who run the AA kits for the older Roo's have either had to get it modded or have camber that's way off. (hopefully the EJ series doesn't have that problem).

Ahh okay I understand, but damn that should be considered a weird quirk by itself! So now that my battery light is coming on in the run position there's no need for me go hunting for other problems then right? And no my weird quirks were a slightly rough idle when in drive at a stop light (that didn't show on the tach) and my ABS would do a jerk-jerk in the last few feet when coming to a stop. Both are completely gone now, so guessing that alt has been going bad since I got this car. I had just figured both of those quirks came with the 215k miles that are on this car nice to find out I was wrong.
-
If you have information then spit it out guys I can take it. The alt was the problem (was tested bad) and of course when I went to go start the car this morning low and behold the battery light was on in the run position so it wasn't burned out after all... But if you guys know of another problem that might be lurking plz let me know as this is my commuter car, though I'm not too concerned as it's being doing just fine since I replaced the alt (in fact a few weird quirks disappeared). Oh wait you guys talking about the fuse related to the alt? If so no worries was the first thing I checked remembered reading about it.
