  1. Ah... memories! (ren and stimpy singing) Hehe, when it's down to a few little gremlins is when the car becomes fun! And honestly, I love the building part too! Looking amazing!
  2. A Subaru gsr(coupe) 1.4 or a GFT(2 door hard top) or GFTS 1.4 I'm not sure what model, but you might ask this person what the chassis tag says the gearbox is: http://saojuliaofigueiradafoz.olx.pt/subaru-gsr-1-4-1975-iid-444508251
  3. Small world! I was thinking I recognized your user name! Any wagon pic updates?
  4. PFT, you must have a good dealership near you! I tried to order a key set for my 02' Impreza and they wouldn't lift a finger in Tampa. They wanted a vin and I said, "I could give it to you, but it's an EDM 1.6L Impreza... and I doubt your system would recoginize it.." and no, it didn't.... And they wouldn't just order me a new key set! It's not like I was ordering a new vin tag set haha Definitely keep the posts coming
  5. RHD and a coupe... and not thousands of miles away! Tell me more! I moved from America to Dublin, IRE and had to leave my old scoobies in Missouri. Feel pm me more details please!
  6. You dont have to get a whole new tank, as long as it's not completely destroyed, you can use that handy dandy liner from Oreillys... http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DAM1/REDKOTE/N2392.oap?keyword=fuel+tank+sealer&pt=N2392&ppt=C0126 It brought my seive-like 1977 Ford Courier fuel tank to better than new and good for a very very long time! The steps I did: 1. Remove from vehicle and remove sender/hoses, etc... 2. Fill with water and drain cleaner or descaler *eats all rust and almost any gunk away* *BE CAREFUL and wear protection...* 3. Rinse out WELL and dry completely, I used a hair dryer 4. Make sure as much crap is knocked free 5. Repeat step 2 and 3 if necessary, interior should be shiny before sealer is used 6. Follow directions on tin 7. clean up any sketchy bits on the ouside and spray tank with a good undercoating/fuel proof paint Notes: dont forget to get the interior "ceiling of tank" clean dont paint where you need cork to seal against steel left over Red-Kote does not like to be kept, it tends to set once it hits oxygen.
  7. Very true BratRod! Selling it even for a high price wouldn't result in many euros for me... It's worth way more as a future project. Plus, the happiness it brings me, I doubt selling it for any sort of money would replace owning such a strange beast. I'm getting there, I'm saving up to pay a professional local-to-the-car body shop proper body restoration and paint. Ireland is the home of vintage rallies, so I can fulfil my Subaru-racing and classic-car addiction needs all at once... So once the body is done, I'll ship it on over with my heavy stuff that's still in America. Vintage comics, WWII bits, American Indian pottery, Victorian house bits and a rediculous Anime DVD collection. And to the original poster, Yeah, I do love the little thing! I've big plans for it despite living in Ireland hehe. Sadly, it has very little cash value... Other than the desire-value of it being possibly an ex-racer and the limited run body flares, it'd be some SERIOUS work for a seasoned restorer at best. Any car used for racing will likely have seen a lot of abuse! Thankfully it's not rusty, but it needs a lot of time and effort to bring it back to it's former glory. IF you are patient and save up, you can find something so much cleaner and complete than this car. It would make poor financial sense to buy this for $500 even, because it'd require nearly a whole entire second car to assemble! I've seen a few on craigs and if you check around, you might find some great and much more complete projects for around a grand. I think Drivesubies or dannybreadman *on ebay* has or at least had a sweet little coupe for sale around a grand... definitely a good place to start! If you keep your eyee
  8. Well, not yet, but I hope to have copies made of my parts and being located in Ireland, this could be very good news for you.
  9. I know a reputable body shop in Missouri, I may speak to him about such a project this May HA, I've nearly the same picture, but it's with my 77' F150 and my Scooby!
  10. Wish my car was finished, I'd love to see this in a computer game/Forza, etc... When I picked it up from it's long sleep in the barn... How it sits now, waiting for a much needed cash injection
  11. I have a set of these (B Type) on my car, but they're not PVC, they're fiberglass hmm... The shame is, I live in Ireland now and my car is in America... They're in great shape, but some idiot covered them with lots of bondo, it took me hours to shave it off! But here's some pictures:
  12. Ive been looking for ANY information on my 1976 Leone.... i be,ieve it was used in the 1970s baja SCORE 250/500 races. Do you have pics of yours? Heres mine:
  13. Ohhh, ha, the roof skin was with drives subies... but yeah, im soo wanting to get the body, roof and exterior in primer next spring. The reason im not doing paint or interior is that i now live in Ireland and hooe to bring it here with the rest of my stuff... one day... and right-hand drive will be preferred if i build it for street. If I build it for race, ill leave it lhd, because thats what ive almost always driven. Now ill have to go look at pics of those bumpers
  14. After speaking to a reputable bodyshop, a coupe roofskin would save em loads of fab time even though i have a two door sedan. (You last mentioned only having coupe roof skins) Mine WAS 75% bondo and a brat sunroof. Wishlist in order of most-needed to wanted for spring: Roofskin Windshield Hood Rear bumper And whats this protector you speak of? Thanks!
  15. And go very slow with the tensioner, they have a very small valve, if compressed too quickly it will become a paperweight. (The screw pitch is fairly aggressive, you should be able to feel the pressure at about 1/4 to 1/3 turn. When pressure builds, let it rest a bit) after the plunger if fully depressed, I like to use a quality small L-shaped allen key to hold it in place. *easier to grab while engine is still in the car than a drill-bit and not as sharp *
  16. I only wish I could find some HALF this nice locally! The over-all prices would be do-able, especially for how clean they are, but DAMN they're clean! http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/SUBARU/LEONE/summary.html $5,800 $8,300 $13,000 (A bit steep, considering it's not pristine!) $5,600
  17. Im originally from Tucson! I live in Ireland now though... I miss cars that arent rusted out! welcome!
