  1. Driving Subarus will make you have naked babies!!! The rare factory upgrades... A current pic, but like new!
  2. I definitely want to see pictures too!
  3. Sooo shiny! Location: Surrey, UK Price: £9,900 [GBP] http://www.passion4autos.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/1600-GL-6.jpg
  4. I know it's been a while... Would there be pictures of progress? I would love seeing more of your 76!
  5. AND... like the much newer than this- Corvettes! It's a great way to reduce unsprung weight, making lots of room for inboard brakes, etc.. And yes, very cool little car!
  6. Subaru is very good at that... The wheelbase is so close to the same length on so many of their cars, as well as over-all length! Now, sometimes *in later years, the front end is a bit narrower, like on the bugeyes.
  7. Well, I don't think I'll be back the area for a while, even if on vacation. I love Ireland And the Guinness is growing on me! Thank you! hopefully I'll be able to sell my house/Forester in trade for some work on it or something I know, it was the same for me, I just wanted it more and more!
  8. This has been on the DMZ-Back-Burner.... Sorry for the lack of updates peeps, I'm married and living in Dublin, Ireland now, the car is still in Missouri, awaiting it's roofskin... DAMN, I wish I could ship it here! ^.^
  9. Just be sure to stagger your metal on your A-pillars, dont make a "clean break point." What I did on my Forester's quarter... Note, the little bit of metal under where there'll be a butt-weld... Staggering Metals: More staggering, especially in "impact" areas. It appears to have been moved, but omg, this reminded me of something... You'd be amazed about the car situation here in Ireland... "Classic" sections of adfinders online are 1995-2000 year-ed cars!!! I'm looking for a 1991 Legacy or a 1970s ANYTHING Subaru and it's scary difficult! I'm glad I didn't sell my Leone back in Missouri, the older Scoobies are getting hard to find throughout the world! Over all, my best advice is just set goals for yourself... and if your're "static" on the build/work, put away $20/week for yourself in an account. You'll be surprised how quickly you amass substantial build money. A build will never fail to surprise you, being semi prepared for surprises makes for a much happy builder! Love the Brat!
  10. *watches intently* more coupes!!! yes, revive them!!!! *evil laughter* You're doing great! I wish I had lots of parts, but everything is still kinda hectic in my basement, I'm still sorting through stuff.
  11. Very cool car and nice to see someone not afraid to repair the "ugly" on a car! I saw your thread and went.. "Hmm, I was afraid of this..." The good old 70's Scoobs are so rare, they'll have to be imported huh... I'll be moving to Ireland April 6th of this year, it'll probably be the only option, finding one elsewhere and importing it huh?
  12. And no, dont do that, stay on the forum, enjoy the classics for sure! But post in proper places.. I'm in need of something odd... Anything performance for a EA71 or the adapter plate for EJ22T in my 76 Coupe. Need List: 2x 14" wagon wheels from later brat Conversion parts to go to disc on the rear *I can weld tighten the arms personally Cool old wooden race or oem steering wheel... Stuff I have: 2 blue seats *one is slightly damaged* buckets only 2 gray seats *both in great shape, dirty though* buckets only
  13. I'd love to! I've made my own hood scoops before, but each time I went to sell a batch, I could only get a few people to sign up and only ONE paid, so I only made two of em
  14. hehe, no worries, and sweet, I like to keep progress going, so more watchers means more encouragement to do picture worthy stages... Here in a week or two, I should be ordering the hood, roof and windshield.
  15. This is correct! now, they DID try frenching it in WITH a 1/4" of bondo, but thankfully the gel-coat rejected it fairly well and it came off with a putty knife in HUGE sheets :3 the more bondo I peel off, the prettier the car gets! edit: And the more REAL fiberglass I uncover, the better the body lines are matched, this was likely a very high quality after market kit OR the dude/gal that made these parts was SKILLED as hell and had lots of time on thier hands...
  16. They are pretty cool cars! I hope to see more dragged kicking and screaming back to life
  17. Think so? I do like it, but honestly not many had much interest in it... I'm good at making fiberglass parts, but have nowhere to make em...
  18. Got a few more chunks done today: I exposed more metal... Another angle of the pass. side... In the middle of taking out the ugly roof... A bit tidier, I coated the freshly exposed metal with some rust proofing... I still need to trim some more off, but it's coming along nicely.
  19. Despite the setback of the holes and a few tiny things and the engine, we all love your car and think it's amazing! Wish mine was as far along! keep your chin up man, it's sooo close!
  20. I'm debating on the vinyl roof, but I might do it up in black... I dunno yet, I love the yellow! I might go with this style... Replacing the red with yellow: It's a very 1970's appropriate paint scheme... I'd have to do something with the fender flares and duck tail bit though... *scratches chin* I had no idea there were so many of these around! not really a bunch, but a good few left in the world!
  21. Well, got a bit done to her... Located a windshield, roof skin, hood.... Thanks Danny! Also, got a start on my removal and repairs... Not sure why there was so much body filler here... I guess some potato head felt two gallons was the right amount to apply... Note: only three small dings, they'll pop out fairly easily! It'll look WAY better with a fresh roof skin and some primer I believe it was used as a shelf at one point and filled with BONDO! There was literally an inch of bondo, about half way across the rear portion of the "frenched" sunroof! Another shot of me carefully removing the spot welds... I was thinking of saving a large slab of the bondo, to show what kind of chunk was on the roof! Luckily, things are cleaning up well! It seems that the metal is straight and smooth and not rusty on parts that arent the roof...
