  1. I will have to look at it tomorrow. I will post back on here what I get. Hopefully it is something as simple as that. Thanks for the help.
  2. I'm having similar issues...working on a solution. What did you find?
  3. Ya, I've been reading other posts and it seems to be one of many possibilities. It could just be that it was a cheap battery, bad starter, fusible link, voltage regulator, bad connection, etc... I guess I gotta narrow it down. the fusible links look old, but are not melted or anything (have not checked resistance), the car started easily with a jump, so I really have no idea. I think the battery is just not charging.
  4. No, it's the cheapest battery from Schuck's
  5. So I just bought a new battery and everything seemed to be fine until today. I drove to the gym and the car had power to the inside, but made a click noise like a battery does when it is dead. Luckily I was parked next to an autoparts store and they tested my 5-day old battery and told me it was bad. I got a jump and made my way home. What would cause my battery to die like this? My volt meter says around 12v and when I try to start, it just drops. No spikes or crazy things like that.
  6. Thanks guys. I'll check the fusible links and the ignition switch. The battery is less than a week old, so I know the terminals and connectors are good.
  7. So I just bought a 91 Loyal wagon with a 2" lift and 28" mudders. It's a great wheeler but ii am having issues with the dc power once I kill the car. Sometimes it starts just fine but other times as soon as the car is turned off, there is no dc power to lights or anything and I have issues getting her to start again. My first guess is a short because of the intermittent power loss, but I really have no idea where to start on this one. Is this a common issue? If anyone has any ideas, please help. Thanks, Nick
  8. Thanks! I found out that the 6th digit in the VIN tells you the specific engine type.
  9. Hi guys, I've been looking for various parts online for my 1991 Loyale and have come across something that stumps me. I have not been able to find anything in my searches either. So the auto parts stores always ask what engine I have. They give me two options: H4 1.8L vin 4 1781cc - TBI GAS or H4 1.8L vin 5 1781cc - TBI GAS. How do I tell which one I have? Thanks, Nick Oh, my VIN is JF2AN52B6MD411629
  10. Hi! I am interested in the EA series rear bumpers you make (minus the tire holder) and the rear tail light guards. Are you still selling the bumpers for $125? How much would it be to ship both of these to Hillsboro, OR 97124? Thanks!

  11. I expect that as soon as tomorrow I will be the proud owner of a 91 Loyale 5 spd. w/push button 4wd. The engine has 220K on it, but has been kept well. The wagon has a 2" lift and 28" BFG mudders on it. To clear things up, I am not looking for mad power out of this thing. I am just curious if there are things like intakes and exhaust (including headers) that are available for these cars and where I can get them. Are they worth it? What do you recommend? I am open to any suggestions (including: "Don't touch it. If it aint broke, don't fix it":))
  12. Hi guys This looked like the right place to post this. I am new to the Subaru world and have decided to take the plunge. I need an affordable 4wd/AWD vehicle to drive (and have fun in), so what's better than a Subaru right? So I found a 1992 Loyale DL 5spd. manual AWD at a local dealership for a good price. The car looks like it has hardly seen the road, but has 176K mi. on it. What are some things I need to look for with this thing? What are the more common issues with the Subaru engines and manual tranny's from this model? Any and all help is much appreciated. Looking forward to being a proud new Subaru owner.
