1. Also this this the Franken Power Plant...
2. This is the new stance. Looks like she is ready to go...
3. OCD.... This project was not easy and took alot of man hours. Start to finish it was about 7 months. There was nothing to go off and every part had to be thought out and then fabed. It was not for the faint of heart. Since this one is done the next one should only take about 2 months give or take... The trip has been fun but with everything 1 step forward and 2 steps back.. LOL
4. THE BRAT IS ALIVE!! AND SEXY AS HELL. Little problem with air in the fuel system because no surge tank{got to get one}but she runs out great. I think it is faster than a stock WRX for sure... The suspension feels great and travels done the road awesome. The P/S is crazy!!! Works almost to good, tap the wheel and the wheels turn pretty much all the way as if were on a lift. Pic's and video's to come.........
5. This is the franken motor all clean up ready to be installed!!!!!

9. Thanks for your input but this brat is never going to be for sale and is going to be passed down to my son. The collector value is not a worry for me. I have 2 restored Chevrolet Impalas for collector value. I started the swap to have a 1 off Subaru not to mention all the people saying It can't be done.
10. Dough.. I have it still and if someone wants it make an offer... Must go to a nice project! That's all I ask!!
11. This is the brat cleaned up right before the project started. This brat is a one owner brat with really low documented miles. The guts for this thing is next to show run no cracks, no wear and tear, pretty much driven 2,000 miles a year... I drove it 50 miles then straight to friends Hot Rod shop in Spokane WA. for a a little fab work.. whoops lots and lots of fab work.
12. So about a year ago I pulled a 1978 Brat out of a barn that was sitting since 1992, so about 20 years. I never owned a brat before but I knew I always wanted one. Got the thing running by rebuilding the carb and doing a complete tune up. Needless to say the H.P. of the tiny 1.6 was not my style and read that it was next to impossible to do a EJ swap. Wont fit, will not work, and the biggest excuse why cut up a mint condition BRAT.. HA HA.. Heres how I found her....
13. Thanks. This project is not for the faint at heart. Lots of cutting and welding. It has taking me about 5 to 6 months to get were I am at now. I am trying the franken motor recipe while I slowly build my turbo motor. I would like to see pics of your project. Good luck and you just might see me there...

14. Ok so while my motor is pulled out to finish up little things.. I decided to go get a 2002 2.5 short block with 100k to build a franken motor that everyone is talking about. This brat is getting a turbo motor ej22t but for now I will see what everyone is talking about. So here is the list.. 02 2.5 stock shortblock 91 ej22 Dual port heads 91 ej22 intake and wiring 02 2.5 head gaskets General D had to say something about the higher comp!!!! LOL
15. Thanks. The swap is getting really close to being done. Just a hole bunch of little things to do. Like wiring and paint the engine bay. I recently put on 2000 Forester wheels and made the little brat look pretty mean. Also I bought a 91 SS Turbo parts car"Factory 5 Speed" to start building the motor and trans to swap in at a later date. It only took me 6 months to find that EJ22T LOL. So more pics to come and the video that nobody has of the Gen1 Brat rallying.
16. I have a really low milage engine for you. Less than 80k I have video when pulled.
17. A couple more pics. All fab work complete only a couple little things left to finish. Can you say ej swap.
18. So turbo I go... And Zefy my project is 80 percent complete. I was just trying to see if any one had videos of the Gen1 brat with the swap. If I can figure how to put photos on here I would love to share with the board.
19. The new brat video didn't load. Got any more videos.
20. Franken motor still running. Have a couple of ?'s.

21. Thanks for the Videos.. I have seen those yet. So what are you running in your car. Also you live in WA too very cool.
22. How can you post pics on this site or do I need to host a site.
23. Well I dont think 250 hp is not out of the question. My brat is an one owner brat with only 70,000 miles. I have every doc to prove it including the window sticker and warranty book.. no joke.. Rust is not an issue. Little on fender because the old lady wasnt strong enough to turn a corner with no powersteering.. LOL. My freind that is doing all the welding/fab work is the best in business, WWII airplane engine in a 1968 Chevy short box, 2 door Ford Excersion @ the SEMA show and inventor of the Watts 4 link. So nothing is out of the ?. If you say it cant be done it puts more fuel to our fire.
