Well from my experience, you arnt suppose to ************ for into first. First is the lowest gear revving up if shifting down into. My forester and my old loyale do that same thing, not allowing you to shift down into first (so someone who dosnt know anything like how to drive a manual, dosnt go say from second to first when they should be going into third.) see how that could mess something up? But at some point slowing down enough it should "unlock" and allow you to ************ into first, i think its around 5mph.... Good luck guy! PRWA AAE

I bought about a year ago a 2000 forester 5 speed for 2700$ AWD 2.5, im getting about 25-27.5MPG, i love the thing! and to top that in the snow it will just about go anywhere, i could out snow my friends lifted SUZU Sammari, and im running it stock. Best 4wd ive had so far, i do like the loyales and GLs with the push buttons though, saves on milage.. some people say the 2.5 isnt reliable BUT mine is pushing 240k and still running strong! The older 2.2 90-95 are a good way to go though. even with a higher mileage car as long as you do the oil and keep up on maintenance they can last for ever. Good luck guy! Prwa AAE

Heater Runs Hot At First Then Lukewarm?
Prwa101 replied to roadsubiedog's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What kind of Subaru is this? Could be the radiator, over time it will fill with crud and restrict the flow to the rest of the car like the heater core, also making it heat up. Is it still running warm with the new thurmo and water pump? Prwa AAE -

Well... Good news is that I'm retarded... Better news is I'm working on fixing my retardedness.... I was so fixated on the harness, I wasn't paying any attention to the battery... I got the posts backwards... In my old loyale it had a bimart battery that was turned around so the cables had to reach farther... I thought this bimart Battry was the same... It wasn't.. Good thing it only fried a fuse able link and nothing else.... Or I fried the ECU...... I got the diode fixed and can get power through it where it needs to go. I thought if check for spark, and nothing... So no spark and the ECU still isn't controlling the fuel pump relay... Anyone have any ideas? Should I start over with a new harness and ECU? On a better note! I got all the interior wiring working and can role up the drivers side window (stupid electril) that's been down since I got it! Dang it's almost been a year that I've been building this.... Thanks guys! Been really busy with work and re doing my parents roof in there house.... -Prwa -
Haha they work awsome! Another thing that helps!
-
Ahh yeah that makes Sence, although "alloy" can be a wide range of metals haha.
-
*steel alloy? Ive read that aluminum isn't the good to drill. and can see why it isn't, not as strong at steel. Maybe I miss worded that. Sorry. Mine are steelies. As you can see below. This is what Gloyale was talking about, works good. These are my awesome wheels!
-
Ehhh on number #3 it only took me 30 seconds to drill each hole. It'll only be hard if you use the wrong bits. As long as you have a good center punch, and a good drill bit NOT ( a drill press bit) it'll go fast. Total time on mine with never doing it befor prolly took me 15-20min to drill all 4 of my alloy wheels.
-
Because if the holes arnt Drilled perfect, you'll be centering the rim to a hole that isn't centerd, and it'll pull the rim away from the true centerd holes. Make Sence? Prwa AAE

dude!! ive finnily finished the lift! got a ton of nice pix! made my front strut brackes last week and got them in! still working on the harness issue havnt had much time with work and the family doing there roof... pix coming soon! -
Miner off a 80's Toyota pickup, if you take a measuring tape and measure the two farthes holes it should be 5.5" and it'll work. I havnt tryed to see yet, still building it. But as long as you have it evenly sinched down it shouldn't have any problems. Tighten one then the other and go back and forth till it looks like its perfectly centered in each lug hole. Having it perfectly centerd is the key to no fibration. But it's a Subaru too almost evey one I've had all has some kinda vibration haha. but the 6 lug hub drill is better, (if you have the time) it's a matter of opinion -Prwa

thanks man! i was thinking last night what it kinda reminded me of, a HUMMER!! its the shorter length thouse awsome tires and the square look in the rear, pretty awsome! (not a big fan of the non army hummers though, chine cr**) PRWA AAE

+1 for redrilling wheels!! Took me 15min for my sweet 15s!!
-
Wish I had mine finished or I'd see you down there.... I looked on there web site and there's a number you can call, "District Recreation Unit at 503.357.2191" Good luck man happy wheeling! -Prwa AAE
-
Id go with something that you don't run into problems with haha. 6lug hub drill is pretty sweet, to save time for me I drilled the rims to fit my turbo 4 lug, 15" yota rims look really nice on my Subaru! the re drilling the hub looks a little more sleek. Haha -Prwa AAE
