Hey thanks guys! Yeah patenting it isn't going to work, to many simmaler things to them.. And it is slightly a copy remoded... Yeah that patent page about the locker said it all. Although! The one thing I could patrent! Is the insides what you guys havnt seen! how I have it set to up addapt to the bolt in stubs. haha. Took me the most time to come up with something that worked, and it does! But prolly won't waste my money doing that either. Well it's cool, I've already figured out how I'm going to sell them. You pretty much just paying for my solid works services, for a product. And haha. Yeah I don't think I'll be giving out any files to anyone. Haha. I dont like my files floting around.. There's ways to get around selling things Parking lot style. Haha. I'll get a working prototype pic up soon! It's looking pretty awsome! -

Mock up in solid works, Subaru R160 Locker
Prwa101 replied to Prwa101's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I personly havnt ran a welded diff, but I know people who have ran them on ea81's and havnt had any problem. And the ea81 axels are easy stuff to break. It'll just wear your rear tires going around corners. And a good note, if other people are doing it, it's should be fine. Kinda like jumping off a bridge But your best bet would be to wait till I have my locker done, and buy one from me! -Prwa. -

For the size we have, which prints on a 1'x1' square, will run you atleast 35,000$ in the states. Yeah Belive me it's pretty awsome set up! Took 10hrs to print that one out! Haha. Not bad I've made so much stuff with it do far! Including, ac bracket that works on the car now! Ej22 addaptor plate, and the 4" strut bracket for my lift that will be make into steel after school is over -

haha well if i were to let our prototypes to people i would keep them in Oregon, so i can keep a close eye on them, ill prolly end up running it in my rig though. haha haha yeah your on the right path, in my locker there is no manual lock, its all done automatically by force and compression. watch the vids that are one here and itll show you exactuilly haves going on. -

It's simmaler to the spartan air locker and it will bult in to your r160 diff. Full design and going into production, (once I work the kincks out) and run a couple prototypes my self. Sweet! Glad to see another man on board! I should change the "mock up" part haha. Because I'm really planning on making these! -
Makes Sence, yeah I'm from Oregon didn't see your in Cali. Search google for the swap, there a few good links. Good luck! -prwa
-
Not sure how much, but I've heard it's a pretty good swap and worth it. (never done it though) Or if you really want to do some damage, do an EJ swap. Waaaaaay more power!

I've bought a Ton of stuff from Rockauto.com, no rebuild kits but I'm pretty sure they have them. best price for Subaru parts too.
-
Good point! but yeah i was just to lazy to go and but one, and didnt want to spring to the 6$ and shipping. On top of needing something to draw in class. and its more fun when you design it your self if i were to make it for real, id make it out of aluminum, steel would be to Bulletproof. and im trying to think what else would break... and im pretty sure the only thing would happen would be the pulley and the nut would probably just end up sliding up. it was fun and free

Welcome guy! you'll learn as much as you can fit in your head on here! -
well meant to put this up a while ago but got swamped with other projects. My ac bracket broke on me (before it got hot out) and didnt want to buy a new one becaue its oregon and it never gets to hot over here. Then it ironically got pretty scorching for a week or so, so i decided to draw one up in solid works and 3d print it out in PVC. here it is next to the broken one. The piece on the threads was the first prototype, didn't work so great, it broke haha tapped out t the 12mm and in its place! Here it is working like a charm!! Its got through at least a month of testing and still works great! ironically after it got it on, it started to rain.... beats paying 10$ for another one to break! Any one need one??
