full parts list for big lift
Prwa101 replied to DLovin93's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/148582-anderson-design-fabrication/ Yeah just a 1" spacer. And no it will need an alignment when your done but it shouldn't max it out. I have 1.4" king spring and 1" spacer on my 00 forester What model 08 do you have? -
Best thing your going to want to do is get a doner legacy for a swap. That way you have matching engine and harness from a known running car. Makes life Easier, that way you know it was running prior to swap. And start acquiring parts for the swap. They can be time consuming and costly. But doing it your self helps a lot. This will be your best freind if you do it all your self. http://www.numbchuxconversions.com/downloads.htm Also there's a ton of personal experience write ups on here. Prwa

You can fit up to 27" tire on a 2" lift. A lot of people hack a little and fit 235/75/15's. Prwa

Best power upgrade is an EJ22 swap. You can find lists on here and write ups. Adapter plates cheaply sold by Infurno fabrication. And lifts. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/148582-anderson-design-fabrication/ What size tires are you Wanting to run? Prwa

Yes sir I am, well Sandy. I'm working on getting my garage empty enough to to an ea81 in now. Looking forward to building them to allow ea82 crossmember and axles. Patrick

anybody ever put a 2.5 in a loyale or gl
Prwa101 replied to ej25dswapquestions's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the 25d has headgasket problems. a 25d with 22 heads is a franken motor completely different they almost make 190hp as long as you run premium fuel, because its a higher compression engine. prwa -
1988 subaru turbo GL, EJ22 and 4" lift, plus 6lug swap build!
Prwa101 replied to Prwa101's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Haha thanks dude! Yeah.. About 3 years of building.. Haha... And yeah a press helps! But I used a 36mm socket and hammer to install them and it worked just as good! I cheated for sure! Haha -

Yes its been done, but as far as the 25D.... I wouldnt waste my time putting that in just to see it blow up in a hundred miles. If your wanting a 2.5 go with a 251 or 253. 99-02 foresters i do believe, not sure off the top what else they came in, other than just about everything.. haha.. PRWA -

well long time no post! my axles wouldnt go into the hub so i for some new bearings for the front! man that was an easy job haha! i fabed up a bullitproof set of 4" rear brackets! turns out the ones i had on there were 3"!!! and putting these on was causing the tire to go into the fender to much so i also dropped the control arm bar 2" which makes the tire sit perfect in there! before 2" rear control arms bar drop, the shock is at a bad angle and its really close to the bump stop. After 2" C bar drop Fully flexed out i got my D/R linkage hooked up and exstented so itd fit better and beable to go in an out of d/r haha. as far as the tranny above, my buddy blew his up so he needed it back haha.. so i got another one from my buddy ED for helping him with his remodel. BUT.... just a few min ago i was just getting to put some new oem subaru tranny oil in her and decided to drop what was left in there.... bam..... shes done... and i didnt even get to drive her with a D/R.... its prolly a good thing ive had to do so much to this rig.. one thing after another... atleast i know when shes "done" shes be done... and make someone a good rig.... haha...... but my next thing is putting a ring from an EJ front diff in because it would see that itd be stronger. Lets see how this works... OR build an AWD D/R driff lock like pooperoo... haha PRWA -
Yeah it will prolly chug along slowly. I've heard those trannys arnt terribly reliable though. Might wanna think about doing a 5 speed/DR swap in the near future. And even then the ea82's just arnt strong enough. Nick's build on here runs 235/75/15's doesn't do terribly but it's still 0-60 in 15min haha.

need help with finishing engine swap
Prwa101 replied to subienut360's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
DON'T GIVE UP! Took me over a month to get mine running. Tons of head banging but you'll get it. My maf was shot, and to test it I unplugged it and it ran better. What all do you have done on it so far? Exhaust? Harness fully hooked up? Where are you located? Prwa -
With the stock ea82 and an auto and 235/75/15... It'll role down hill pretty good. Haha. It'll be slow though. Prwa
-
Yup 250$ for obd1. Pm me. Just got Done with another one a while back and she runs perfect! Where are you located?

Who's 4" lift are you putting on? I fit 235/75/15 with minimal trimming, if any at all. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?v=timeline&id=1458812977704910&_rdr Happy valley is a good area! I'm in sandy! We need to get that thing lifted so we can wheel!! Prwa

I would but HDPE isn't strong enough for this application in my eyes. I've seen HDPE spacers and I'm not impressed by putting plastic spacer on my strut. Primitive sells the HDPE spacers and they charge 209$. My EJ spacers are threaded through the holes so you bolt the block to the top of the strut then bolt it to the frame. The HDPE spacers I saw have bolts imbedded in them. So the options for that are use a bolt and drill the hole large so it slides through or imbed a nut in there. And my spacers are Cnc laser cut for percussion. Mine won't melt if your car catches on fire haha. Why pay more for less? I can guarantee you won't ever destroy them like you could HDPE. Patrick

What year wrx do you have? I'm pretty sure these will fit. Patrick
-
Yeah there's a pretty big difference between stock and lifted just 2". Currently helping him build his 4" lift w/ 4" subframe drop to keep axels as stock geometry.
-
Oh and Ive got 5+, 2" kits on hand, without the subframe drop. There going to go fast!! Patrick
-
Thats the plan! But better, i want to make the ea81's able to run ea82 axels and from crossmember with offset blocks. This will increase the axles streangth over the ea81s. Are you looking for a 6 or 8" lift bud? Glad to hear it!! Looking forward to seeing it!!
